yes exactly!! i’ve owned oud wood in the past and i think this is better. it might sound weird, but imo this resembles oud wood more than the original, because of its reformulations

I wish he could watch one of your reviews to see that along with the often rare components there's both science and art involved in creating a fine fragrance, and that the pricing reflects that.

I would really like to test oud wood now for sampling purposes… I have just enough of carved oud to test using one of my arms… I am one who does not like to use paper blotters. Especially if I will be wearing the fragrance at a later date. I have found surprisingly different results when spraying direct… ex: when spraying a sample of halibah ..which has 32 + notes I thought it smelled like excuse the expression BUTT. Well after an hour it started to change, then 2 hours it changed again, then 3hours it changed again like Willy wonka… everlasting gobstopper. It just got better but I don’t see paying 1024 for 100ml.
Would love for you to sample some of the Tobacco Vanille inspirations following all of the TF reformulations. Everyone seems to disagree on which ones are the best.

I think I'm on a similar page, as I do like it, but I find it a little too harsh, rich & sweet compared to the two Oud Wood concentrations. For my personal taste, anyway. Definitely better value if you prefer it richer & darker, though.
At a fraction of the price of TF Oud Wood it shows that Estée Lauder could easily produce a radiant/long lasting Oud Wood if they wanted to (especially with the volumes they buy) - without charging £330 for 50ml !
It depends on which version of Oud Wood you mean, the most accurate dupe of the OG Oud Wood is from DUA and I think that is stronger and better than Carved Oud. When I sampled it I was hoping it would be better.

if its heavy in naturals the perfume is better on skin than blotter

Hey Aaron, you should try Kredo by Nishane, it has a similar opening to Oud Wood but it goes in a slight spicy, leathery direction. Great vid!
