What an artistic video! I love your use of music, zoom-ins, humor, and the alpaca. Very engaging! Keep up the great work, and thanks for the useful info.
I just got a shit ton of pencils and art kits for Christmas because mother wanted me to find something else to do than video games. I didn't know what half of the supplies were or how to use them and this has helped a lot thank you.
The alpaca killed me! It wouldn't be a true tutorial without the best part of kneaded erasers - playing with it. I don't know how I stumbled upon this video 4 years after it came out, but I'm glad I did
Thanks for letting me know about the kneaed eraser.u were so very helpful.U even went an extra mile by showing how to make animals out of the eraser.I hope to see more of you.B blessed 🙏.
How long does it usually take before the kneaded eraser "dies"? XD and theres no way to clean it with like, water or something? I got a pencil art set (bye bye Crayola) and it came with a kneaded eraser, so im kinda new to this whole kneaded eraser thing lol
It really depends how much you use it and with what medium, if you use it daily with charcoal or pastel it will last you less, then it would with graphite. I've had kneaded erasers that have lasted me for 6 months!
If the eraser gets a bit dirty or stained, knead the dirt in and it will get absorbed but if it gets whole dirty already it’s time to say bye bye kneaded eraser
Excellent presentation and visuals and I liked the classical musical backgroung. Presenter really communicated his appreciation of this magical tool. Thank you
'Agapey,' Thank you for this very informative video. Now I know what to do with my erasers when not in use. Knead them into animal shapes and place them in my curio case. Thanx again!! SuperSniperSal USMC Disabled Vet
Well, it was cool to see the history of kneaded erasers. I thought it was a DIY make a kneaded eraser. I watched it all. Still was cool to learn some more history that affected art. Thanks! 🤗❤️👍🏾💯
thanks you ^^ I bought a kneaded eraser yesterday cuz I know it could help me with my drawings and that eraser is new to me so I ended up here thanks 😀
This helped me SO much! The kneaded eraser I have is my first EVER kneaded eraser... I probably should've looked up how to use it lol. The reason y I like it is because it didn't hv the eraser shavings... Anyway, my eraser got so black that it started to take the led from the eraser and put it back on my paper while erasing.... After watching the part of ur video about stretching the eraser just helped me so much! Thanks! Please, someone, count how many times I've typed eraser... Lol
I know about kneaded erasers, Don't know why I even klicked this video. But I'm glad I did, great video and I also loved the Alpaca/Llama (really two L in the english language?) clarification! Now I'll go and check out your channel, maybe you get a new subbie
Thanks for the informational video ^_^ Btw whats the bakcground music that plays as you are lightening the skull? I checked the describtion but still couldnt find it on youtube :/
I just bought the Winsor & Newton medium kneaded eraser and it's so sticky that I feel uncomfortable using it, it also performs worse than my regular Boxy eraser :c Did I buy the incorrect brand? Which one is the best?
Hey, I usually buy Generals, they are not as sticky as some others i've gotten. But usually stickiness doesn't last as long as you keep using it. Eventually they get stiffer and easier to use the more you use them. I also have a boxy eraser its one of my favorites :p
Great video but. Don’t throw them away! I clean it with warm water and soap. It’s very easy. Sometimes it looks like it’s disintegrating while you are cleaning but you just put it together. by pressing it and letting it dry you can dab in a clot and let it dry. It becomes like new again. I never never throw them away.
Lol one of my classmates gave me a pack with an eraser AND the kneaded eraser. I had never seen this kind of eraser and i just thought it was a stress ball or something for when you get stressed at not being able to draw what you want to draw. And then i searched what a kneaded eraser was and now i know! Good thing i had lol! If i hadnt searched this up i would have thrown it away
Me: h this vid looks like a DIY! :D Agapey: Starts of with a emotional and very good history type of introduction* Me: oh gosh this is more then i expected
Ah, I see what this is for now. My cousin always asks what it is and I say I don't know, but now I do thanks to you :) now she won't annoy me anymore XD
I like it more than a regular classic eraser but its kinda annoying when you mold it to how you like it then it just decides to be rude and get mushed up
May sound strange but I always tear off a soy bean sized hunk or eraser and form it around the end of a tortillon so I can form a stiffer point that works better than even a super soft vinyl or rubber eraser.
Kyan D. They don’t dry out. I tried letting it sit at my desk while I was out of town for about 5 days, when I came back it’s still normal. Nothing has changed.
"Theres no hope here, lets move on"
Youre funny, 😂 lol

I enjoyed this video. I was not sure the best way to clean my earser. Plus thanks for the sculpture idea...
That was a most excellent alpaca and I appreciate your efforts to spread the word about the wider range of South American camelids beyond llamas. :)

Thank you for the info. I like your alpaca :3
Do you need a case for it?
I bought a small one for mine so that it doesn’t get dirty from other things in my art box.
Anyone else here in quarantine
Easy, simple, informative... thank you

let's face it, everyone needs that gray clump.
About how much time, or how many drawings, will it take before I must replace my trusty kneaded friend?
Eyyyy that Radiohead song though 👌

I use Prismacolor. I got it in a set with art gum and a plastic eraser from Amazon. It's not sticky and works fairly well.
Great video but. Don’t throw them away! I clean it with warm water and soap. It’s very easy. Sometimes it looks like it’s disintegrating while you are cleaning but you just put it together. by pressing it and letting it dry you can dab in a clot and let it dry. It becomes like new again. “In other words you are able to manipulate it to the shape of you’r own NEEDS”

Does the kneeded eraser ever dry out? Do I have to keep it wrapped up
I keep mine on a small plastic case.
I am totally subscribing 😄

Never heard of those... Sounds cool tho! :D
Ah, I see what this is for now. My cousin always asks what it is and I say I don't know, but now I do thanks to you :) now she won't annoy me anymore XD
Music is a little too loud.
Rebecca Cole lol I liked it, it made the whole video much more artistic, some might even say dramatic.
Can I erase tech pen/ink for kneaded erasers?
Yeah I was confused when I saw a kneaded earaser in my drawing pack I was like wtf is this thanks this helped
But also...so they don't dry out?
They can dry out, I have a small container for them though 👍🏼
How do you store it?
I bought a tiny plastic case from Office Depot and put it in there 👍🏼
Which brand of kneaded eraser is best?
That dark particle line was erascist!
I have a question, will the eraser harden?
Yes it hardens when it’s over saturated with pigments and it’s in a cold place
I like it more than a regular classic eraser but its kinda annoying when you mold it to how you like it then it just decides to be rude and get mushed up
This is funny, and it educatues you
On how to differentiate between a llama and an alpaca
Thanks for this!
May sound strange but I always tear off a soy bean sized hunk or eraser and form it around the end of a tortillon so I can form a stiffer point that works better than even a super soft vinyl or rubber eraser.

They dry out right? Or do they just add plastic cases for travel sake and/or dust?
Kyan D. They don’t dry out. I tried letting it sit at my desk while I was out of town for about 5 days, when I came back it’s still normal. Nothing has changed.

my kneaded eraser is too sticky what I should do??
I recommend you store the kneaded eraser in a plastic bag to conserve it's stretchiness
