hey! for me, the most effective tips I have would be to build connections with teachers. it's so important for when the time comes and you are applying to schools that a teacher can vouch for you. besides for that, the most important thing I think is to never lose your love for music; that will carry you very far by itself.
I got mines from Bam and I think it's great! it's an oblong case so it's a little chunkier but I've had very little problems going through airport security with it
