    • @westonscampbell
      @westonscampbell 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No-Intro doesn't automatically ensure no duplicates though. You'd still need the ROM Sets trimmed to make a 1G1R version.

      @mumfnah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@thatonedudenamedvalentine7836
      The team who curates the No-Intro set just have the actual original game rom dumped, so their set doesn't include all the tampered/modified version of games, where you see language hacks, or other hacks applied.
      Some roms you'll get and they have intros showing you what a said team have changed in that version. The No-Intro sets omit these games and only have the true original game dump

    • @retroman--
      @retroman-- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thatonedudenamedvalentine7836 I'm not sure all the ins and outs but for us the user, it means we get a working rom, and a rom that follows a naming convention that when you go search for images/videos on a scraper you will get the images and videos. These are the two most important things for me with No-intro rom sets. I love Batocera and its great to use their numerous scrapers and with the correct rom names you will get the artwork and videos you want.

    I bought a 2tb drive and copied the 256gb card from the super console x to it and run it all through retroarch on my laptop. It actually runs a hell of alot better than the super console itself.

It would take an eternity for me to get stuff from CD era from internet, deleting extras and filling the gaps I believe will much be easier. Also the price of a clean 12 tb drive is not much lower than the game loaded one.

    Most foreign emulation system developers only just dump roms into the file system and test a few games and just leave as is. With the arcade rom sets its just a dump of roms and with arcade roms there are so many version updates in all arcade systems which leads to the large amount of the same game.

  • @gregghernandez2714
    @gregghernandez2714 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You would think that a person who put the time and effort into building a ROM set would rather have a lean set up with no issues with less than half of the ROMS in this set up. Just word of mouth as to how wel! It worked would easily well for the asking price from the seller. Quality not quantity.

    You wouldn't be able to get a true 100k game drive on only 2tb unless you had most of them stored in an alternate universe somewhere...you're looking at several times that size, sometimes as high as 40tb.

    • @Necronomous
      @Necronomous ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what system you play on and how big it's library are. Atleast Retrostations 2tb harddrive have 55k true games with zero bootleg crapgames. The 4tb got 77k. So no need for 40tb to get 100k true games. Perhaps up to 8-10tb with some more of XBOX, PS1 and PS2 games, because when it comes to these systems, it ain't full library with these consoles. Only topsellar games and such are added to the library. If you wanna have full library of PS3 and XBOX 360 games I don't think 40tb is enough acctually, just for those 2 consoles.

    For marketing purposes, they cant say theres 87,861 games in one. It has to be rounded to a marketable number like 100,000. And bro for what you paid for that, I think its an amazing deal. There are Americam and European emulation stations on the market that run better than that, but are 5x the price

  • @1luarluar1
    @1luarluar1 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes, but is it true that you plug the device and play? Forget the games don't work immediately, is it true that you have just to plug the device in the usb and you are ready to play? Thank you!

    • @Madlittlepixel
      @Madlittlepixel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, but roms can be used from this to run on the PS Classic.. thats an entire process in its own which is fairly simple and covered quite a bit in videos on my channel.

    Do these work on android devices... Would they work on the new cube 3rd gen as that would make a great retro console

  • @PabstOban
    @PabstOban 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I'd rather have 25,000 games that are 100% working and tested thoroughly... even if it's Just the "hits"... than 100,000 titles where 75% of them "happen to work".
    The problem with these mega builds is... you you were to be honest... if you had 16h a day to play retro games for the rest of your life, you probably wouldn't even get through 5,000 of that originally proposed 25,000 that are 100% working.
    Me... I'd build a system that had hand picked games from each console I would actually play... That might be less than 2,000 games... and it would be all I'd ever need.

    • @internziko
      @internziko 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I 100% agree. Why don't the people selling these just take the time to make a 10k/20k fully tested and working "hits" set up? I'd be willing to pay more then $100 foe something like that.

    • @acejon2162

      It's a HDD with game files and a frontend UI, you can pretty much configure any standard USB and wireless controllers through the software.
      The link to product also had options to purchase with dual controllers.

    2tb repeats the same games 10 or more times to hit 100k

    • @acejon2162
      @acejon2162 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I doubt they did any clean ups, so the same game for same hardware, for example arcade version of SF2, could have like 20 copies with different languages/regions/revisions etc.

  • @acejon2162
    @acejon2162 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'm pretty sure most of the duplicates are official and not hacked, like official US ROM, official EU ROM, official Asia ROM, official JPN ROM, even official South America ROM etc.
    They include all versions because they ship to all countries in the world, where surprise, surprise, some do prefer languages other than English. Or they could also be lazy and just dump all versions into the HDD :-)
    With over 100K games including variations running on hundreds of consoles, arcade hardware, handhelds, computers etc I really don't expect it to be 100% plug and play.
    Whoever bought it need to do some basic housekeepings like delete/remove language variations of the same game, remove obscure systems and their games that are of no interest to them. These 2 actions alone will cut out much of the complications. Then check on the latest emulation software release and update them accordingly.
    The fact that with all the complications, all the supported systems and their core variations, all the games, this HDD is still able to run many games and systems without issue, without the need to setup controller, emulator variations etc means that the baseline plug and play had already been achieved.
