Not really...don't know why people always say because they like an older game that 'it was ahead of its time' because it wasn't. It's an awesome game, yes, but it wasn't at all ahead of its time

breakfestbacon AI was fantastic. Still for its time. The graphics were certainly not. Did they look incredible? Absolutely, but Thief Deadly Shadows, Half-Life 2 and DOOM 3 all were at least equal to it. Music can't be ahead of its time in video games and coop and multiplayer being great isn't ahead of its time. Unreal from 1998 had bump mapping, I don't really know what you're getting at there.
TheJayson8899 i'm going from how it looks on its xbox. The multiplayer was certainly ahead of its time and co op is co op. its just plain ol fun. And When I mention bump mapping and dynamic shading I'm talking about how it looks on xbox.
I cannot begin to describe how much I loved this game. Amazingly immersive, dialogue to die for, fantastic gameplay. Top 10 easily.

Not the best for sure... it really went down already with this one... assault mode is only one thing in that Direction.
The knife is slash and gash, the new gadgets are dumb and the level design is to compact & close to the enemy...
The only true masterpiece was the Original Splinter Cell... no doubt about that... thIs game... was not even good...

The one thing I missed from Blacklist was the way they did the news briefings. Splinter Cell 1, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory all took this approach with the news clips in-between missions. They went a long way towards pulling you into the Splinter Cell world. They need to go back to that if they're planning another one.

There needs to be a single-player level editor for this game. New missions we haven't played before! The mystique that can only be felt the first time you play a game, of not knowing what's coming ... almost as if you ARE Sam Fisher, risking your life by infiltrating unknown areas!

Man I’m not gonna lie, I listen to this series and the Pandora Tomorrow series while I go to sleep.
The chill commentary, the musical score, the quiet of sneaking around all stealth-like is all so relaxing… well maybe minus the torture part. 😅

I miss playing the Multiplayer.
Normally, I cannot stand to watch live commentaries. This however, was THE most enjoyable walkthrough I have ever seen, of any game.
Fuck, the graphics and IA in this game holds up to this day better then some new ones.
The dialogues in this game are 10/10.
Fun fact: Chaos Theory lacks the body sweep of the previous titles. You could leave a body in a well-lit or at least somewhat lit room, and an enemy and camera would still need to physically find the body on their patrol path to raise an alarm. In fact, for those who've watched the "What Not To Do" extra training video, expect the opposite to be true if you try to go too far in concealing a body.
I remember playing this game as a kid and being so obsessed with it, when my parents asked me what I wanted to do for a career, whether I wanted to be a fireman or a cop, I told them "I wanna be a splinter cell!"
Is it me or does this actually LOOK better then double agent?
Double agent is by far the worst splinter cell i've played... i have this thing where i can't get myself to play a game until i've completed all the previous games in the series and i haven't got to play conviction or blacklist just because i never feel like completing double agent... the gameplay is just so robotic and stiff...
its awful double agent...i just got done with conviction and its a huge improvement, will start blacklist at some time hoping its even a bigger improvement.

SatoKazuya I played on PC which I believe is the XBOX 360 version... Unless you were referring to the original XBOX which had a version with a different story and gameplay. I've neither played nor seen that version though... If you were, is it any good?

This game is so amazing! The gameplay, the characters, the music, even the single-player story, pretty much everything is done so well in this game! I absolutely love it!

This game and blacklist were my shit. I actually liked the formula for conviction and blacklist, especially blacklist. That combat stealth where you're constantly being seen and list again. Blacklist was great because it gave you so many options to play through the level. Loved assault and panther but ghosting through levels was always my favorite.
I love this game so much. I'm still waiting for it to become backwards compatible on Xbox One.
I just picked up this game. I've been massive fan since Conviction and seeing Microsoft putting the og classics on gamepass is really awesome. It's such a cool experience to play through these games for the first time

The pinnacle of the techno-thriller genre. They don't go too crazy with the tech and what I really like is that they crank down the jingoism (remember the one guy you interrogate in front of the lighthouse who gets flashbacks from the time US forces killed his friends?). They don't make them like that anymore.
They don't make em like they used too, although Rainbow Six Seige was a breath of fresh air
MGS 5 bud. Stealth is so thrilling in that game. Choas Theory remained the best for 10 years until that one came out though.

The ps2 version of this was the first Splinter cell game I have ever played and, while the ps2 version isn't as good as the PC/Xbox version, it still blew me away. I've been a fan ever since, and having played the pc version, I think it's one of the greatest stealth games ever made.
This is the best walkthrough for this game on YT, excellent work.
Getting the Platinum trophy for this game was actually a pleasure, rather than an all out grind. One of my favorite games of all time.

Sam fisher was 35 in splinter cell 1, 38 yrs old in pandora tomorrow 40yrs old in chaos theory, 50 in conviction and 52 in blacklist.
Chaos Theory is one of my favorite games of all time, spent many many nights up late with friends having a blast on multiplayer . love this game

When I played this level I accidentally executed like 16 people because I thought I was just knocking them out lol, after that I had almost no kills for the whole rest of the game

Haa...it’s been 15 years and still the best and toughest game, where all gamers have strained harder to complete each mission. Trust me this is the best splinter cell so far in the entire history.! We may have got new splinter cell chapters for current generation gamers, like conviction, blacklist.. I had played these two also but chaos theory is one which will put your skills and patience to test . 😎 2005 was the year where every gaming production company competed in bringing out different gameplay modes and with a proper cooked up stories(few inspired by real life events) which made the gamers to shout for more and more ...
I was 11 when this game came out. I remember getting it solely based on the cover art looking cool lol.

I love the cut scenes this has. Plus narrative too right before the mission to give you some extra details on your mission.
I love every mission on this game, this game was art (Music, the atmosphare, everything). Probably the best stealt game ever. Not just the best splinter cell in series and never gets old. By the way, I don't like new voice of Sam Fisher. I miss Michael İronside's cool, deep sound :( Long live Chaos theory!
Oh man I miss this game, taught me a deep appreciation for stealth and sniper aspects to games, one of my all time favorite games and I was pretty young when I last played it 😢
You also missed out on looking through the file cabinet in the lighthouse.
This is by far the best Splinter Cell in the whole series.

+tranglomango deep down I kinda knew that which why I always wanted to play a splinter cell game and I love the realism of the series story because I like mgs and all but I get tire of nanomachine and bullshit that kojima put in his story like he always make japan look like the victim which why ever character hate nukes mostly because Japan was a mostly innocent country in ww2 which is not true since they had more kills and rape than the nazis and russian plus they treated pow horribly which why I like this game for acknowledging other asian country relationship with japan and how in japan some are eager to gain a military since that what happening right now, mgs stealth was unique since gameplay their wasn't a lot of variety but they was always cool situation you was put in like switching your controls slot to beat a boss, survive the torture scene, hand to hand boss fight, taking pictures of metal gear and upload it, using directional microphone to find your target, all that stuff make it a forgivable stealth game

blacklist is a good game but they really screwed up and completely ruined Sam fisher as a character... It's messed up when a developer can't keep there characters consistent. >.>

+s3rban91 I played both the PC version and this version and in the PC version they had ad placement for the AMD 64 processors as screen savers on some of the computers and the one computer in the CEO's office in the displace mission had an ad for some Nokia phone I forget which one though.
I always thank the old one are the best.

Is it only on PS3? I assumed it was for Xbox 360 as well. Oh well, I have the first Splinter Cell as well as Chaos Theory on the original Xbox and Pandora Tomorrow on GameCube.
***** Eh, no big deal. The games were originally designed to not be in HD. It's like cranking up the resolution in an old PC game, it looks a bit better, but I can do without. If it were a full remake, though, that would be a completely different story.

It's been four years since the release of this video, and there is still people who play the game and comment upon. The story is really immersive provides the experience which is amazing
I just downloaded a demo for that game. Well, 800x600 standard res, mouse very fast in the menu and the menu didn't look good. I thought, well what graphics should I expect from a game from 2004, but maybe the gameplay is fine.
But I was surprised when the mission started! It really looks nice. And the ambient lighting is better than of some newer games :D
PS: It just has a conflict with MSI Afterburner (and maybe FRAPS too?): It is flickerin black if this overlay is activated! But well, that's no big deal :) In this case I don't even need the frame-capturing^^
I already have it set to highest graphics @1920x1080(FullHD) and 4xMSAA ;)

***** Actually i can vouch for this guy. The Xbox version looks better. I own it. Not dissing on PS3 cuz it clearly has better graphic capabilities using Blu-Ray but this was ported very poorly to PS3 graphic wise.

this was the first splinter cell I played on pc, otherwise I used to play the previous episodes on ps2. I really like your explanations and your playing. Even for myself who am not totally fluent in English. I've been trying to save Morgenholt so many times in vain, I guess it's not possible. I saw some french walthrough for this game, but they were never this good, and they can't pronounce walktrough. It sounds like wakfoo most of time :) Thank you again, you did a great job
I really wish blacklist went back to the splinter cell roots. Double agent was still good. Conviction was okay then poof they make the worst splinter cell in history. And took away sams decided look and then took Michael irons voice cmon.
It seems to be the trend to make games more action-oriented recently.
I don't care about the voice, what gets me is the forced action and so much daylight. And you can't cover up his face like in co-op conviction.
It loses the 'be a ninja' feel
Hopefully in the next game they'll bring back Michael Ironside and go back to the splinter cell roots.

Just bought this for $5 and I gotta say well worth the purchase. I played the first splinter cell demo on ps2 uncountable amount of times as a kid because I could never afford the game. It was the chinese buffet level and it left a good nostalgic feeling buying and playing this again, seems the same but obviously improved. Thanks for the video

Did you do Essentials, Double Agent and Blacklist?
He did all main SCs for the bigger consoles Xbox-PlayStation.
He did SC,SC:PT,CT,DA,Conviction and Blacklist.
He did not do Essentials.

I love all of your play through s that you do, even thought some of them aren't necessarily stealthy. I only started watching you a few days go when I watch you do the Hitman; Blood Money play through, then I got hooked. From there I watched you do Hitman Absolution, and GTA 5, and I honestly have to say I enjoy playing along side you sometimes! Keep up the good work!

Took me 3 tries before I finally got over the pc controls and learned this games mechanics. So glad I did because now it's one of my favorite games.
Man, I used to be a subscriber but now I remember why I cancelled it. You often sound so cocky in these videos. We know you can do these things super easily, you don't have to remind us every time. Your gameplay is amazing but your commentary could be improved by a lot.

It´s still a game to return once in a while, i still have all this "old games" installed and working in my secondary desktop pc... Back in the day i used to play this mission over and over again not minding the other content in the game...

I played the original Splinter Cell and Blacklist a ton but never played Chaos Theory for some reason. Just got it on Steam and can’t wait to play it.
Chaos Theory is best in series you can complete it without knock or kills(except objectives when you need to) i have 100% on all missions except bathouse still dont know how to complete this mission on 100%
