One thing I forgot to mention is Apple's refurbished store. They sell "refurbished" Macs that are basically like-new quality and are discounted quite heavily, and might be worth checking out as an option. This is also a pretty solid option if you want a special configuration of Mac (e.g. 16 gigs of RAM and 1 TB of SSD), as long as they have it in stock, and it has the 1 year Apple warranty as well.

How does the M1 MBA perform with photo editing? Not heavy editing, just Lightroom 24MP files in 10-30 quantity per session at a frequency of 1-3 times per month.

The video i have been looking for. Thank you for the explanattion. However i am in a dilemma.. I can get an M1 air for 699 vs M2 air for 849 , for 150$ is it worth upgrading to M2 stay in the line for updates from apple for quite sometime , i am going to use this justt for school through college.

I actually just picked one up for €250, that's like $360 Maple Dollars, the catch being Touch ID is broken and that it needed a battery swap, but after the effort 440 canadian for an M1 without touch ID still felt like a great deal for a lightweight macbook!
