1000%!!! GE? Why do your machines suck?! And also, HE washers and legislation....why aren't you analyzing real world user data?...if everyone is spending time manually filling water, creating hacks, and making videos about how to actually make a washing machine wash clothes...the "efficiency" of the appliance is moot, and possibly more detrimental than prior methods. Do the real research. The creator here says she doesn't believe researchers who say the clothes are clean. I don't quite know what they measure or how they tell, but I agree that the clothes coming out of this washer feel unclean and actually stink worse than going in. Sometimes having to run THE SAME LOAD 3 times to get it clean ish enough for the dryer. This is not saving any time or energy. "HE" decisionmakers need to get into the laundry rooms of actual humans with actual stains and wear vs. lab presumptions.
I just figured out how to get these washers to fill. If you choose the precise fill option then hold down the deep fill option for 2 seconds, it will fill to a good amount. It is a combination of the two options that gets it to fill more.
Wow! Great idea. I have a very expensive Maytag washer most of the time I feel like tossing it off a cliff. You can't wash a load of clothes with 4 drops of water. Lol. I'll try your back, great idea.
My father has the same model. I do my laundry there sometimes. I noticed the low water level too. I searched online and this GE has a timed fill. So if you have low water pressure it will never be enough water in the drum. Other machines have a leveled fill, so even if the water trickles in it fills, but just takes forever. My dad did something to increase the pressure and now it fills up. I use the deep fill option by holding the button for three seconds. When I moved to an apartment with shared laundry, I switched to white sheets and towels. I use bleach or a cup of vinegar to keep any odors away. I like the “spa” white vibe. I’m going to try your hack someday if I get my own laundry back again.
I just bought a GE with water levels you can select up to 26 gallons ! Or use the sense fill. New washers are ridiculous on the lack of water used. Thankfully they are making washers now with the level option.
I still keep and maintain my Maytag top load from 1999 with old style transmission/axle with locking differential (LOL) that looks more like a 12 bolt rearend. It's a little loud, doesn't handle offset loads easily as it bounces around like a bull but it gets'er done.

I have a new LG washer and I did one load and couldn't even see the water when it was washing - It has a glass lid and I can see it. It disappointed me so much that I've gone several weeks and haven't used it since. Finally I realized I was going to have to do a wash, so today I took 2 empty milk jugs and put the towels into the machine and then added 2 milk jugs full of water. The machine ran in a lot of water, plenty, as it had weighed wet clothes and sense the weight and the good part is - I didn't add extra water for the rinse cycle, I didn't have to. Plenty of water ran in and rinsed the clothes quite well. That's because the weight it senses at the beginning is the amount it will use for the rinse as well. The only bad part is my laundry room is in the basement and I have to carry two jugs of water down the basement stairs and I'm not a spring chicken and it's a little hard for me to feel safe carrying those two jugs down the stairs.
Hey! Happy Holidays. I been adding bit still screwed. I keep wondering if the Rinse spin only adds it's programmed small amount in middle of washing. Therefore, top doesn't get wet fresh water. & I stink?
Thanks! I called a repair man and told him my machine wouldn't fill. He asked if it was GE. It is. He said there's nothing he can do. Im glad i watched this video before I tried to replace it with the same garbage. I can't wash anything in 3 inches of water. I will pre soak in a basin I guess. How dumb!!

I didn't know things had changed in the washing machine department when I bought my new washer after having used my old heavy duty machine for years. I was shocked at how little water was being used and how it didn't appear my laundry was getting clean. Luckily, I have one of those machines with water level controls and like I found out on the internet, I just switched to "bulk" and the tub fills up completely. I leave it on that level unless I'm doing delicates so as not to waste water. Ridiculous that they make washing machines that don't wash.
Just to let you guys know when it weighs at the beginning it figures up the amount of water for the entire cycle including the rinse cycles as well. If you do it this way you’ll have to add water at every step but if you wet the clothes before you start the cycle the laundry will be heavier and the machine will think there’s more when it weighs thus maximum water level and you can walk away from it and it stops when it reaches the deepest level it can.

You could've avoided doing all of that had you purchased a Speed Queen top loader, because it fills the washer tub all the way up from the get go before it agitates.
Are you currently using a Speed Queen you speak of? If so what year did you buy it? Do you mind sharing the model #? I'm tired of filling up 5 gal Home Depot buckets to add to my GE washer.
I have a GE it must of been a man who came up with that idea. I think it is going way too far when your washing machine controls us it’s maddening as hell. I hate the new machines. What I do once the water comes in it is not enough I turn it around to start again. I buy 90% alcohol at the dollar store I add 1/3 of a cup along with my tide box washing powder it disinfect also whitens brightens your clothes I just love it makes my clothes nice soft as well. I also use alcohol in my pail of water when I clean my windows, mirrors I put a bit of dawn in the water. I use a microfibre cloth to clean with a nice cotton cloth to shine with, it does the most remarkable job saves money don’t need window cleaner. When I clean my dish cabinets clean all my dishes I always wash my dishes in dawn dish detergent add some alcohol in the dish water my dishes come out sparkling clean. I suggest you use iron out in your toilet tank, bowl , add a little dawn dish detergent also the iron out you can let it set over night flush in the morning or you can do it in the morning after you get threw in the bathroom always allow it to set for a least one hour before you flush, if you are g😊owing to work prepare it before you leave the house. You put the iron out in the water in the tank the water in the toilet. It is real simple it will remove all the stains no it will not harm anything. I do house work know what I am talking about. Give it a try you will thank me.i love cleaning, it is a labour of love when you know what you are doing, it is no big deal deal if you do it right.
Could I just add the clothes, soap, & manual what as high before turning anything on w/ out it it draining. Another channel said to add water slowly; otherwise, it'll sense it being manual & start draining it. That'll suck. I love how high yours is.
I have mine set on a large load, and I manually add water while the machine is filling to a bit more than halfway. The machine continues to fill until it stops at its predetermined amount. I set mine on a large load so it’s not going to sense anything. For the rinse cycle I just let it run its own course. I’m concerned about clothes being washed and once they’re washed they drain and then they just naturally rinse, which is fine with me with less water. Before I did this, the clothes it didn’t get clean, and didn’t smell fresh. Came back with almost a sour smell and you definitely couldn’t put a lot of clothes in the washer.
Or you can just quickly wet the clothes with a galllon of water using an empty detergent bottle. That works too if you dont want to hook this gadget up.
This is some bs. I have a brand new machine not filling properly. I calling someone. This isn't professional. A new machine and I can't wash my clothes
This concept of very little/not enough water to do a proper wash, seems to be the order of the day for all "modern" brands. It's disgusting. Users are finding all ways to put more water. Front loads can be filled through the detergent dispenser, eg: about 5 mins after the wash cycle starts.
Ive been told when these LG & Samsung washers have problems and need parts that repair ppl can’t get parts right now. Parts are imported I’m assuming. The labor is through the roof! These HE (high efficiency) washers are just no good. They don’t clean worth a flip, not enough water to even clean your clothes! Ppl complain about most all washers and I’m so tired of these companies making crappy products and lying to us and charging outrageous prices for us to end up with a pile of damp dirty clothes!!!! The old washers were the best!! PLEASE MAKE THEM LIKE THAT AGAIN! Don’t buy high efficiency nothing. Ok thanks for letting me vent. lol.

Are you currently using a Speed Queen you speak of? If so what year did you buy it? Do you mind sharing the model #?
I'm tired of filling up 5 gal Home Depot buckets to add to my GE washer.
@@BlueMoon-pz9pp The Speed Queen TC5003WN fills all the way up, and uses the old school ripple vane agitator.
Why does the machine sound like that? I have the same machine. Thanks
Mine sounds the same. Yours?
I'd like to know how to keep water in this washer to soak clothes overnight! Has anyone figured out how to soak longer than 2 hours. I
Leave the lid open
It's not a hack, it's what the washer is supposed to do, mine always fills 3 quarters even on the super fill, this washer sucks period.
Low water levels don't get your clothes clean it not high efficiency if you have to wash it twice. Especially if you live in hard water areas.
JÉRUSALEM FRUKTY GOD
JÉRUSALEM FRUKTY TURGEAU PLANTES
Ok thanks for letting me vent. lol.
Trust me you always want to use plumbers tape.
Yes Its Just a piece of junk a lot of work to do when its suppose to be new me id rather have a wringer washing machine
Same Machine...same problem...only fills half way
You could have just changed the water temperature to colors and avoided all of that.
My GE is always hacked for plenty of water and l have to wash my clothes 2 or 3 times. JUNK JUNK
Tide is gross.
These are terrible machine, basically scams... it takes all your clothes and make them into a ball and in the end you end up with an unbalance load and spinning broke the machine... If i was rich i would sue...
it is not just GE it is also Maytag. Terrible!!! 800$ and it is always shitty as hell. They don't wash, they don't spin correctly, they entangle the clothes, WHO FUCKING TEST THOSE MACHINES BEFORE SELLING THEM??!!!
i have also had some of my clothes and bathroom rugs come out of the washer with tears and rips. seriously.
