I couldn't do it, I would be too afraid to damage the shadows, because I am not very good at doing that kind of thing. I was even nervous when I was watching you 😂. But you did a great job, and it is so much easier this way to use the shadows. Bravo Tina 👏👏👏

That is the exact reason why I don't reach for mine! Plus, PMG packaging art is usually sublime, but the 6 pan holiday collection is just lacking that same fire as the large mothership palettes. Yours turned out so nice!!!

I think your new palette looks SO appealing! I honestly think the shades look more beautiful all together like that, without the bold packaging to compete.
I have a sudden urge to depot all my eyeshadows. I love idea of being able to look at everything and see what will go with what instead of opening up multiple palettes.
How satisfying would it be to have a magnetized drawer system to lay out all the shadows in whatever combination you want. I feel like being able to rearrange shades on a whim would be so inspiring!
@@beautifuldreamer0811 that’s a great idea! You can buy sheets of magnetic material and glue them into any drawers you want. I have a ton of singles and they would look wonderful in those clear acrylic drawers. I’m going to try it out. The only downside I can think of is they might dry out a little faster in a drawer because it’s not as tight fitting as a magnetic palette.
Currently I have all my singles in palettes with clear lids organized by matte vs shimmer and then by color family. I keep an empty 9 pan palette handy and just pick out a few for my look on any given day, or make one 9 pan to wear the whole week.

I keep all of my makeup in the keyboard drawer thing of a computer desk so I can lay it all out and see it all out and see it all at once. You could probably use magnetic paint or magnetic sheets on the bottom of a keyboard drawer to do the sane kind of thing but with eyeshadows. That way out doesn't waste a bunch of vertical space.

The anxiety level is HIGH on this one - those shadows are not only esssspeeenive, but also LIMITED EDITION - my heart! Also side-note for future reference you don't need to keep the inserts of each palette to know the names, you could just google them if they do happen to get jumbled.

I maybe would try 6pan but never the black ones!
Very nice Tina! 🤩 I did this with my single MAC shadows. I just sat each of the pots on my flat iron for a few secs to loosen the adhesive. It worked like a charm. Now I want to depot my (only) Pat MGrath palette too! Then maybe I will use it more since it will be out of the package.

Oh yea I depotted those minis 2 yrs ago! I couldn't take it anymore, the packaging was way too fussy. My only regret is that my favorite color the Interstellar blue cracked & shattered 😩😩 I even sold 2 of the larger Mothership palettes. I'm sorry but I couldn't get used to using those ole heavy palettes. Too much work!

Just this weekend I had depotted my faves shades from Modern Renaissance and that weird Kristen Leanne palette from UD (I had to make space for a new palette and those were my oldest).
Once you know how to do it, it's kinda of a fun activity and so satisfying? But I don't have the heart to do it with my other palettes bc the rest were all bought last year lol.
I did depot the 5 pan palette by Pat and mix them in my colourpop palettes! They're all magnetic.
I depotted my mothership pallettes so I would start using. Getting so much more use out of them

At least you depotted yours without busting up the shadows. I was scrolling IG today and came across a post where this lady depotted her Norvina Vol. 3 palette and she pretty much broke all the shadows. A mess! ☠️

That's my anxiety with every depotting that I do. Instead of using a pan though, I set the pan that I'm depotting on top of my hair straightener (with parchment paper in between the device & the plastic pan).
You have me DAMN NEAR CLOSE to doing this! I took out the Bronze Temptation the other day and fussed with the flaps folding over the shadows 1,338x...Flippin annoying! If I could repurpose the empty cardboard palette holder thing-ies; I think I may seriously consider this.They're just sitting on my vanity lookin' pretty (but rarely used).

After the glue has loosened and I pop the pans out from the back making any holes or dents in the plastic I’m going to toss anyway, that way I don’t slip and dig into the powders
The back isn't as easy to pop pierce but it is worth a try.
That feels like criminal damage to me 😰 ...this is good to know but I'll keep watching at my beautiful wrapper Christmas present 💝 packaging
