I've heard a Level 5 thruster will consume 1 fuel every three to four seconds (lower level thrusters will obviously consume more). I'm browsing the files, trying to find an LUA to modify the consumption rate for my rocket ship / flying vehicle which has a total of 12 level 5 thrusters on it, especially since I got it semi-working at this point. Just about the only thing we can do for sure is edit the OilGeyser LUA to give more crude oil per node. Mine is currently set at 5 per node. The game overall needs more balance between resources and consumption, especially with blocks so tiny!
That would be very handy. I've pretty much stopped work on my boat until something changes (like automated fuel generation, less fuel use on thrusters, or even engine driven propellers). As for the current consumption rate, this test puts it around 5.3 seconds per fuel used. Maybe weight has some impact on fuel use rate? (edited because I fail at math)
