After playing Tennis Elbow 4 on the PlayStation this past couple of days I can't believe how much better and more realistic the gameplay is compared to all the other Tennis games. It's mind blowing to me how bad the gameplay is on all these studio released games. Especially top spin. TE4 has a lot of janky problems and is very difficult but it play more like real tennis and players have their own individual styles and traits. No 100 shot baseline rallys. The devs for these other games definitely do not watch Tennis. Just like I'm convinced the FIFA/EAFC devs don't watch football.
The PS? hmmm interesting, I'm a huge top spin fan, I think 4 was the best tennis game ever made, the latest one is decent (top spin 2k25) but has its flaws. I keep seeing tennis elbow being mention is it popular online or more of a single player game?
In my opinion it was pretty good...compared to all the games, that are released now it was! Smash Court Tennis 2, Grand Slam Tennis 2, Top Spin series except for most recent one which is TS game only in it's name (they were all good in their own way...but my favourite is TS4), Virtua Tennis series except for VT4 (wasn't a huge fan of that one, loved the rest of 'em, but especially VT3!)...
This game was made by people who've never watched a tennis match. The mechanics, shot animations are true horrendous. And the opponent always comes to the net. On a positive note the player select was perfect for me, it had all my favourite stars. The arena selection was also great
I absolutely hated this game. Possibly my least fav of any Tennis game ever. I kinda dug the first one purely coz of the wii motion controls (one of, perhaps THE only game I actually liked motion controls for). There are several things I look out for in tennis games good and bad. One of the worst most egregious sins in a tennis game is weakness from the baseline and on higher difficulties being forced to end points at the net. Both you and your opponent (human or AI). This game commits that sin worse than any I've ever played.

Try Tiebreak after today's update. 😉 As a Full Ace Tennis player I have a lot of fun with it now. Developers did good work in the last two weeks.
"CPU programming here is so bad that it makes me wonder if Big Ant Studios hired the same people responsible for Grand Slam Tennis 2 difficulty" lmao
What you said about the gameplay for this I feel the exact same way about Topspin 2k25.

@@duncanferguson7814 Top spin IMO is a terrible game but we clearly like different things.
I loved it.
But at the end, its just a serve and volley simulator
so this is why you were playing this game I've never seen it before W video 🔥🔥
You expressed just the right feelings about this game.
I remember so clearly my initial exitement, that turned in boredom so fast.
in my memory it could also be called: "Who is first at the net Tennis 2" - and: "the rebirth of the one-handed backhand"
lol, nice touch with Danny Trejo in career mode. now, time to review the oft-slept on goat: Outlaw Tennis

It was good not great. Not enough players or real ATP venues.

Grałem trochę w 2012 czy 13 roku, ale TopSpin był dla mnie lepszy, więc szybko przestałem. :)
Hey can i play it on ps5?
Nop, just PS3 or PC with an Emulator (RPCS3) 😜
I don't want a realistic game but a good game. This game was very fun to play back then.
