Hey Kerry, love the stories and the Airport Identifier of the Airport in Gabon. Seems apropos
One observation is that the sound level seems very low. I have everything turned to max to listen. Might check that for your next video

You flew over Lake Tanganyika at some point that night, likely in those thunderstorms. That would be an interesting technicality, except that the terrain east of the lake is mostly below 3500' MSL, but just east of the lake there is a substantial ridge up to around 7000 to 8000 feet. Following the ground through there could have led to some excitement as the terrain jumps from 3000' MSL to the ridge at 8000 MSL. There's a gap along your direct route but given your circumstances, it would have been dumb luck if you had flown through it and missed the sharp ridge. Climbing into the thunderstorms put you above that, but it sounds like a hell of a lucky coincidence...

Any plans to fly /practice with Connor again? Always fun to learn from your hand flying skills, so might be an idea to do those vids with him again. Greetings from Europe ❤

Read this in your book but it was entertaining listening you tell the story in your own words. Keep the videos coming. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers from Las Vegas, NV. CFI SEL (+2800 TT).
