Nice use of old iron. A man with a vision and determination will never be poor he will have a rich life!! Thanks for sharing these talents, vision and adventures!!!
I "had" a similar concept, using a 1970s Land & Sea, SeaCabin houseboat, incorporating steering on land from both the main and upper helm station, incorporating retractile wheels (flush with hull), that is four wheel drive. Unfortunately, there's a few design problems, the top two are, weight and ground clearance. I'm guessing, the tires (pressure) will act as the suspension?
Love that the algorithm saw me watching “Ship Happens” and bought me this astonishing build. Absolutely loved this, one question, can anyone tell me who the special guest is at about the 10 min mark?
i think the most impressive thing about this build is the fact that it floats basically level. i figured it'd float kinda weird because of the wheels. I know they're likely buoyant on their own, but the way the back one sticks off in the center i figured would throw things off, and the wheel wells for the front wheels removed more displacement than the tires added. quite remarkable that it doesn't sit low in the front, or look all that unstable from the middle wheel.
I was expecting the opposite- the boat sitting too low in the back, considering that the engine, riser for the wheel, and the fork being back there and mostly above water line.
Nice to see a video on it! I live in Lansing. I’ve seen this many times and used to work for Josh Shaw and went up to your shop a few times with him. Your brother Tyler just joined us at Lansing Fire, too.
Love this and I'm extremely envious of younger people that can sit on their haunches and duck waddle while working underneath low projects that require cutting, sanding and overhead painting

it probably isn't registered. it's likely handled the same way that farm equipment is handled. it's not technically road legal, but you are permitted to transport farm equipment certain distances without needing anything special. beyond that, you'll either need a permit, or police escorting (which is actually stupid easy to get. you basically just go ask for it).
@@TheAruruu crazy. In my country it has to be legally registered if it has to drive on roads. If not registered you haul it on trailers that are registered. All I know is I saw he put on lights and blinkers and there seemed to be a license plate in the rigt side window...
@@JokerInk-CustomBuilds there are still some minimum requirements for the farm equipment. headlights, turn indicators, brake lights, and whatnot. it's just that it doesn't need to meet the safety requirements because, let's be honest... a tractor with an airbag sounds stupid. lol
@@TheAruruu minimum requirements is not that the Tractor shouldn't be a ferry? 🤣 -Safety you say. How can he operate it safely when he cant even see where he is going? @@JokerInk-CustomBuilds the rules about farm equipment are much more lax than you think. unlike with normal cars, you can drive farm equipment at 13 in most states. lol. also, there are plenty of vehicles where you can't see what is in front of the vehicle, but they're still street legal for whatever reason.
