Hi everyone from the In Flames community. This will be my last track that I post from this album. I decided to post it after I heard this weekend the newly released re-recorded versions of the first three tracks of the album. I'm sorry to hear that some of you are clearly disappointed with these new versions, with obvious reasons, as I heard them myself. I remastered this album entirely back in January as a challenge and for fun, not knowing that they would decide to do a 20th anniversary edition (although I mentioned previously that it's typical for bands to do 20 years anniversaries). I wish I could post the entire album, but I don't want to get in legal trouble since I don't own the album. Take this post as more like a statement of how a remaster, in my opinion, should sound like, because I know that for the upcoming remaster, there is a good chance (unless they change their mind) it's going to be as brickwalled or even more due to the loudness war trend still going on and that is completely useless (streaming services turn down masters that are too loud, so not only you are listening to tracks that clip all over the place, but also turned down versions of them). Thank you very much for the support! I did not expect to get hundreds of people in June to get to listen to the title track remaster I posted in April. Hope you enjoy listening! Remember to read the first two sentences in the description.
I love how clean and clear your versions sound, I really don't understand why everyone is just trying redline their tracks these days, it sounds way better with headroom
Thanks a lot! Well, just like I wrote in my pinned comment, streaming platforms turn masters that are too loud, so I don't see the point either. The loudness war was a marketing strategy that started in the 80s and was well established at the end of the 90s with the reasoning that louder means our songs are gonna get heard more/sounds better/will grab the attention more, which is complete BS. It's the songwriting first that gets a song on repeat, then a proper mixing/mastering without being unbearably loud will do the job (see almost every release from before the early 90s).
@@fisheyerecordings hahaha I noticed my comment that I already submitted... And then I thought that wasn't right hahaha. But indeed the RE-RECORDINGS are a epic mess! Not your! It was a typo!
Yes, pretty much! Although, on the graphic eq, there are like at least 20 points that adjust the frequencies. So, it looks quite messy on the screen haha, but it cleans up the audio quite a bit.
That’s great, man! Awesome job! Would that work on streaming apps when using the graphic eq? Could I use the built-in graphic eq to increase the dynamic range of the files or would that only change the eq? Thanks for the help.
@@MadDrummer100000 Oh... maybe...? Only problem, I don't know if there's an app that you can run in post process of a streaming app while it's playing live. That's a really good question. Mine is through a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), so it has to be rendered. That definitely is worth a web search.

This is how the official 2020 remaster should sounds.
Funny how I made my remaster months before them and the people have spoken! Thanks for the support!
Epicness!
I read your unedited comment "epic mess", I thought it was someone else trashing the re-recordings or just trashing my version hahaha

They should have hired you to redo their albums. This band sure as hell went down In Flames after Jesper left
Good one, Jesper made a new band called The Halo Effect if you want to check it out!
Sounds amazing man please do more if yhou can!
I will try to comeback in the next weeks, just hit a bump on the road since October. Thanks for the support!
Hey, friend! Just a question: did you manage to increase the dynamic range just by lowering the level of certain frequencies? Cheers.
