Working with the TR-6S and MC-101 togheter brings a lot of joy!
They are truly made for each other.
On this song I started to experiment with 3 MidiFiles on 1 track in the form of Clip 1 to 3. It feels like I'm not limited to only 4 tracks.
The song is a bit of everything grabbed together.

I love this combo. They work well together.
Just get a 707 cheaper then buying two boxes and does what that combo does in one groove box! This is ridiculous and waste full .. nice sounding track tho… but don’t purchase these two get the one MC-707
I have both and the ACB modelled drums are far superior in sound, not to mention versatile and tweakable. @@officialknightowlz
@@officialknightowlz No no buy and collect them all, its what they want you to do, just like Pioneer and they're full range of trinkets that do the same thing but not everything unless you spend hundreds of thousands so you and they can be happy, go on now get out there and start shopping for stuff you don't need.
Excellent work on this one!!!! I really like the way you used those female vocal samples from cymatics!!! I've used them in lo-fi tracks before so its nice to hear them over a different texture!!! I can't wait for more videos!!!! The TR-6S/MC-101 really are a perfect pair!!!

Yeah Cymatics has great vocal stuff, this one's were from the free download section. The 2 midi parts too, but I edited them into this song. 🎶🤟 Love to hear your music with them vocals!

Thanx! Both stereo outs go to a simple Behringer mixer. From there (the mixer) the mixed audio go's into the Korg Kp2 for WAV recording... Could also go into a PC ofcourse. 😃

Hi sorry for the late reply.. I could not manage to vreate a song with the TR-6s only.. I see on YT people making nice house tracks with it live performing.. I used it only to assist other gear.
I have both, and it's impossible to create a full song on the Roland TR-6S. For example, if you want to play with a sample, there are no polyphonic pads to play on, and when I connect a synth, it's awkward with no way to manipulate the sample effectively. As a result, I use the TR-6S purely as a standalone drum machine.
Hey man, loved this video. Currently have both the MC-101 and TR-S6 on the way. Quick question: what’s the setup look like if I was just using this for pure jams? No DAW or anything. Just need one MIDI cable to sync them and have the speaker outputs?
Also: when they’re synced via MIDI and you just want to jam out with headphones (using the headphone jack(s) on either unit) does ALL of the sound from both units output to your headphones?
Hey William, I connect them via midi indeed. Mc101 = master. So start stop on one button. You still have to mix both machines output into a mixer or u can use a simple audio splitter to mix them together. So with one midi cable, two audio jack cables into a audio splitter to a headphone you can get pretty portable.

Hey bro, I have the MC-101 and the TR-6s and I am able to sincronice them via MIDI but how can I make both machines sound at the same time from my monitors? Do I need an interface or a mixer? What device are you using for that?
Yo, I have the l+r outputs of both machines into a simpel Behringer mixer. From the mixer out it go's into the Korg MiniKaosspad2 to record the song in WAV file. The footage I record with my phone and mix it later on together with the audio file.

The setup is super easy.
- Borh boxes stereo out into a basic Behringer mixer.
- That output into the Korg MiniKaosspad2 to record the mix as WAV file.
- That WAV file I run through a basic multiband compressor and a Maximizer, both standard in a DAW or Audacity. That's it, everything come pure out them boxes.
- 5 pin midi cable Midi out (TR-6S) into Midi in (MC-101) and they sync.

Very interesting combination of the two. Never thought about combining these, and I should have because I don't believe there exists a single beat box that will do it all for everyone. Today I combine 3 sequencers capable of pitched and drum sounds to achieve a much improved sonic quality and better control of drums/pitched/samples/effects. The lack of multiple outputs on sub $1000 groove boxes has led me to the multiple boxes solution.....maybe you too? :)
Which is running as master ... does that matter ?
