Updating the Firmware of a Crucial SSD via UEFI BIOS

  • Checking the Firmware of a SSD within Windows. Downloading the Firmware Update Disk Image from Crucial, Making a Bootable USB and Updating the SSD within the UEFI BIOS.
    I had to do this because the Crucial Storage Executive cannot seem to read my SSD from the SATA Port of my OptiPlex 7050 although the SSD shows in the Device Manager.

    Would this procedure work also with my DELL XPS13 using USB-C bootable disc and using USB-C UGREEN NVMe (T500 2TB inside)?
    To simplify... Would this option using USB-C UGREEN Nvme work or the syszme will be unable to recognize it if not used original PCIe M2 slot ?
    Any help or suggestion is more than appreciated...

    I think they have removed the firmware files now... shame cause I need to reflash mine

    But in your case Your sdd crucial can boot up your laptop, but my case I can't boot up my laptop after installing new ssd to my upgradable ssd slot.
