I remember Bruce Cribb bringing his ice bike to Boston one sunday night. He said he would take eight seconds off the track record. Well when he left the tapes a couldn't get it in second gear crunch crunch he went. He got to the first corner before he got it in gear and he still knocked four seconds off the track record. Good old days.

He went round a few tracks on his ice bike and went 4 seconds faster on all the track's. Just think how fast one the top Russia's would go.😁

That's right....I think he did a tour of a few tracks on his ice bike (including my beloved Hackney). Ice Speedway is fantastic to watch live - unbelievably fast. However, you freeze your nuts off every few heats when the tractor comes out for 10 minutes to clear off the loose surface ice!

Most definitely. I saw him the year previous to this when he came 3rd at the 2 day Ice Speedway Final in Eindhoven. Such a raw talent against a field of much older, more experienced ice riders.

Unbelieveable these days to remember that a major channel, such as itv, once covered the brilliance of Ice Speedway, as well as the shale version, of our beloved sport. Even the British League got a few mentions. Where did it all go so very, very wrong? Our sport is now being read its' last rites; whilst tv companies outbid each other to broadcast the modern-day utter borefest that is Formula 1. It really is oh so very, very sad. :-(

I can remember lots of Speedway results in the daily paper. That kept me going until Wednesday, then I could collect Dad's Speedway Star for him. World of Sport bought lots of events to our screens. I definitely took it for granted.
