Yeah, I used to be gross and not wash my hands after using the bathroom. Until a dear friend made me be less gross. Now I always wash my hands. It shouldn’t be something you’re only doing during the pandemic.

Not everytime though some kid had some rashes on his arm and leg every 30 minutes he washed it and it kept getting worse so the kid was brought to a specialist the specialist said you have washed your hand and arm so much it's interacting with your arms and legs so for that know i don't wash my hands everyday
I've owned cats my entire life but never had this issue. I also wash my hands a lot and avoid touching my face and eyes. Not that hard to wash your hands. Basic hygiene is just a good practice to have, regardless of a global pandemic or cat ownership.
Fun fact, this parasite is only dangerous to infants and almost 100% of the population is infected at age 60+

I've had cats since i was a baby and have always been around them. They even sleep in my bed with me. Never had any issues. I love cats. I have 2. 1 is 15 years old and the other is about 8 months old.

I remember I had a severe case of that when I was a kid, I remember my eyes were swollen and watery, liquid coming out of my ears and a really bad headache. I'm glad I got proper medical treatment, now all I have to remember it by is having very blurry eyesight in my left eye.

Growing up before I discovered I had an affinity for cats my family had dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds, and i helped others with cows chickens sheep etc. The big thing I had drummed into my head from an early age, anytime you clean up after an animal wash your hands. Anytime you handle raw meat or eggs, wash your hands. If you arent sure, wash your hands.

Since my house is foster homes for cats, i used to live with lots of cats (a dozen of cats at one time) for years since my junior high. They live indoor, never had this issue with toxoplasmosis.
Coincidentally, about the time when i move out (like, 7 years after high school graduation), i worked at a pharmaceutical factory for a year. It was clean and everything but somehow there were some exposure to something in those factory, which results in me having corneal abrasion, conjuctivitis, blepharitis and those reduce my field of vision to 20% (not to mention the searing pain after waking up, light sensitivity, redness, discharge etc). Eye disease can greatly reduce your quality of life.
So yeah, i would be more worried about other exposure than mere cats exposure

If your cat does not go out, it's not gonna be infected in the first place. Also infected cats only transmit the disease for brief period of time after being infected. It's much more likely to be infected by eating raw vegetables.

usually you smell gaseous compounds, and everything alive doesn't spontaneously evaporate. It'd need to be aerosolized for you to breathe it in.

@@vonw.3294 you cannot get toxoplasmosis from scrathes...it's transmited in feces, so wash your hands after cleaning the litter boc. Also, the cat only sheds it for about week if infected, so chances are not that high

My cat got a tapeworm from an infected flea. The vet said what she had ONLY came from infected fleas, so my other cats weren’t at risk.

I am allergic to cats, but in my childhood, I used to visit my aunt who had 11 outdoor cats, I spent my whole summer there and my allergy was gone. I haven't been there in years and the allergy is back.
Well... I've always been really concerned about my eyes being damaged, and after watching this I'm kinda scared of my own cat now. Is there a cure for T Gondii parasites?

u dont need to be afraid... it literally rarely ever makes u sick.. in germany nearly everyone has this parasite... cuz we eat raw meat. just know: it can cause only issues if you get infected first while being pregnant or have horrible immune system issues (and even then its suuuuper rare that it makes you sick).

Always wash your hands, and give cat propper medical help.
If your cat is safe and without contact of outside and parasites you are fine. Make sure cat is fine too, and do not get rid of cat. A pet is family. There are solutions.
That happened to me, except i had what they called retinal vasculitis, i still have a blur in my right eye, but after how much treatment i'm doing good now. When it all started, years ago i had no idea what was happening to me.
