You’re in my watch later list. Happy new year. Edit…so many overlaps with my favourites. Shrinking, Man on the Inside etc etc the ones I’ve never seen are mostly those on services I don’t buy.
Thanks. I would not remove HotD. Also, I definitely would add the most amazing show I saw in years. Its first season began in 2023 and finished in 2024: Frieren. Just watch it! (Crunchyroll) And finally add the newer production from studio Trigger, the same that gave us the outstanding Edge Runners a couple of years ago: Dungeon Meshi. Yes, it stars goofy but gets depth in each episode and, by the middle of the season, you are already in love with it and for all the characters. Highly recommend! (Netflix)
Superman & Lois has a place in my heart, though it's not the best, likely due budget restrictions given studio restructuring and so on. If not on the list of best shows (and it could be argued to have a place in it anyway), definitely amongst my favorites
Fallout was flawed, but it was fun! I'd recommend it over plenty of other arguably better quality shows so I guess that's something. There are plenty of valid criticisms to be made and I wouldn't necessarily say it was objectively the best, so I was surprised to see it on this list, but subjectively the show was enjoyable at the time and had charm.
Fallout is not much flawed at all. It has a very tight plot and story, only does not exposition it easy. Without going too long: over 50% what you think you figured will "plottwist" you in S2 or 3, unless you already figured that you figured it wrong. Also since show does not spoon feed, do not expect "improvements" on things that lacked in S1 for S2, cause there is no lacking, it is just that show requires high attention and high perceptiveness.., or one can be drawn in and get distraced at the same time by "easy going fun" that the show is.. on the surface...
Top 10 I liked. 10. Ted 9. The Boys Season 4 8. Terminator Zero 7. Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 6. X-Men 97 5. Invincible Season 2B 4. Fallout 3. Shogun 2. The Penguin 1. Arcane Season 2
Can recommend The Agency as a good spy show. Not quite as good as Slow Horses. More serious. Thanks for all the great content in 2024. Good luck with your journey out of depression and substance abuse. I'm 7 years sober and life does get better.
Hey dude wanted to contact you about the post you made about Warzone and the squid game crashes. I haven't been able to play any other game mode than the squid game one... i wonder why? got any tips?😄
@ErikKain dont you think thats its weird that Sunny didn't get enough attention even on your channel while you enjoyed it, but it got cancelled, and Night Country got much more videos but still got into bad tv shows video. thank you for this list, I'll use this one as watchlist
Honestly, Vaughn can be pretty one note and most of the time it seems like hes phoning in his performance so I completely understand not liking him in much because hes not very good in much. Also SLOW HORSES has been consistently good. Love that show.
@@evgeniytsarkov5679 oh you know it's always a thing, always a struggle. I keep it under control and then it slips back in through the window and sneaks into all the rooms without me noticing. But yeah, doing good at the moment
Landman is not good. Billy Bob is good, does best with he got. Show has its moments and charm, but it is Soap Opera, Dallas with Oil, Oil part being rediculous and silly, a caricature, same goes with quite some other aspects. Sorta Guilty Pleasure Show the Landman is..
Oh, you haven't finished The Dragon Prince Season 7... I would like to hear your opinion because the ending felt like the writers dropped a ball. The more I thought about the ending, the more flaws of the whole show I noticed, leading me to quite a disappointment. It was getting darn good in season 6 and for a big part of season 7 but I realized the writers struggle A LOT with the pacing of the story, All things considered, it's a miracle these writers managed to pull off a very good and consistent character arc for Ezran in these last 2 seasons.
@@ErikKain I see, I don't want to spoil it because you haven't finished watching it yet but I think you'd see what I meant by story pacing and underwhelming ending. There were some questionable characters' actions or out-of-blue things. Some story beats felt like the first story draft made into the animation stage. Sadly, I have to be vague till your review. There are some shining gems in these 2 seasons but The Dragon Prince show seems to be as inconsistent in writing quality as Dreamworks with their animations (Once they can make The Wild Robot, the other time Megamind 2)
From has a good concept but suffers from terrible execution. The interesting elements are drip-fed between long stretches of unengaging character interactions. It’s especially frustrating how many of these interactions are repeated over and over. This to me feels really disrespectful to us viewers, as it seems to be done solely to extend the seasons and boost engagement metrics.
I agree with the list, although few observations: Shogun, japanese language, about Japan, and not a thing in Japan. Why? Because modernized to western standards where ever could, veered of source material, the way people talk and subjects they choose for discussions aren't really in line with Japan nor 1600s, not really authentic, only looks that, but still.., good drama. Penguin, too much mobster and character drama, with terrible lack of Gotham and comic's feel. Good show, lousy in what it's supposed to be. That is what HBO does, they take source materials completely different from each other, and make practically same shows (TLoU, HotD, Penguin, Dune).. Fallout is full on adaptation, excellent, genuine, feel is there, does everything right. It is canon and set 9-10yrs after the last on timeline game (FO4), and doesn't mess up the lore, instead tells the new story that is also used to expand the world and franchise. Some "lore masters" complain based on combination of (self) confirmations of parts of still not confirmed "lore" that was left ambiguous by the franchise, and not paying attention (or having none to pay) while watching the show that only seems "easy going" on the surface, that is very complex under, while doesn't spoon feed, rendering "lore master" complaints to only fewer than few to notice and potentially complain about. From: not a bad show, some very good parts, s1 especially but with S2 and especially S3, looks or seems like it's gonna be another "Lost", and that is not good.
I'm having mixed feelings on Skeleton Crew. I like it, I like the child-like wonder and Jude Law is awesome. But (and this is the big but) ... It's also such a lazy, cynical cash grab. Literally America Suburia and Litterally Goonies/Treasure Island ripp off ... I'd have been more forgiving of it if they tried to make it Star Wars-y ... have unique Star Wars like pirates with Unoque Star Wars fake Utopia ... but the lack of any attempt at that uniqueness, and just lazily taking from others stops me from saying "yes"
Arcane s02 was emotionally effective. From s03 was better than s02, which I am thankful for. I checked out Rivals after you said it was sexy and liked it a lot. Slow Horses is definitely underwatched.
Without the great "Shogun" it would have been a disastrous year for tv shows. "The Penguin" has its moments but it is overrated. In a competitive year it wouldn't get that much praise.
I actually think there were really great shows and movies this year. TV had a wide range of good stuff like X-Men 97 and Dandadan and live action/prestige like Baby Reindeer, Interview with a Vampire, Shrinking, etc.
With a twist like the one in Sugar, I will admire it just for the boldness of it...regardless of whether or not it seems ridiculous.
