Wow donkeys are probably the most important animal in American history. The cleared the land and built the foundation of this country. God Bless Mark, that’s amazing 11k adoptions!
I will help this man. I took a job at a horse ranch couple years ago to keep busy during the pandemic. We had a few donkeys and a race mule along with the 70 horses . They were absolutely my fav. They liked company, playing, very smart, and no horse ever beyed at me from a quarter mile down the road because they were happy to see me ❤
So happy to see Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue highlighted here. I've donated to Peaceful Valley for years, I'm on their mailer. I have their 2024 baby donkey calendar hanging at my workplace. If you can, please donate, too. As you can see, its for a worthy cause.
Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is so worthy of being highlighted. I’ve been donating for years, I’ve read so many of their stories of how they help these sadly neglected creatures. And donkeys are so lovable and fun to be around.
Donkeys are wonderful guard animals for other livestock; sheep, goats, cattle. horses, chickens.....They're protective of their herd/family (whoever, or whatever animal they bond to) and have the courage and tenacity to run-off coyotes and other predators.
Mules wete used extensively in war, like in WWI. They were the difference between winning and losing. They are loyal and brave pack animals. Willing to be soldiers alongside humans when they are loved and appreciated.
I've had such a soft spot for donkeys ever since seeing the movie Au Hasard Balthasar and reading the Christmas Donkey little golden book as a kid. They're so underrated as a species.
I once walked into work and said “guys, I brought little donkeys for breakfast.” The confusion/horror on their faces was hilarious. Then I explained they were burritos. 😂
Wish you’d included information on the donkey skin trade threatening donkeys worldwide, and Oscar’s Place Donkey Rescue and Adoption Center in Hopland, CA. I’ve come to learn that donkeys are more like dogs, personality-wise, than horses, even though they’re equines. Very emotional, bonding beings.
The Meyers are angels on earth. I’m so glad to hear they’ve been able to adopt so many donkeys out to homes. The BLM isn’t bad at all re: their program. I’ve seen those people in action at their adoption programs and they treat the animals very well (wild horses too). You get a great deal because for a little money. You get a donkey or horse with ALL their vaccinations, health check-ups, and more. Great program.
The most important thing that they missed in this report is that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. He could have picked a horse but chose a donkey. Why? I love my 2 miniture donkeys, and guess what both have crosses on their backs. Thank you, Peaceful Valley, for taking care of all the homeless donkeys. Please share and support.
Bee ty not bay ty. I'm 3rd generation Nevada. My family has lived in this area of the west for over 100 years. The donkeys are cool just don't hit them with your car. They can be jerks, horse are easier. Mules can be sweet hearts.
Babies grow up and have babies... just like feral cats. Think of overpopulation and scarcity of food and water. They are healthier being protected. Hopefully, this will move people who can to adopt.
I suppose someone should next pass legislation to protect feral hogs in the south, then Asian carp, snake heads, tilapia, pythons and iguanas. Getting sentimental about these kinds of species makes no sense.
I'm so glad this was featured on CBS Sunday Morning. Donkeys need all the support they can get. Thank you for helping them!

Seen some awful, awful stories of abuse of donkeys. Organizations like this are essential!

Should have went to Oatman, AZ and showed them there. Part of the tourist attraction there as well.

The US needs to do better for wild donkeys and wild horses!

Gus looks like Gene Hackman.😊
When it shows up in your backyard wanting waffles...
They're feral not wild, but go on.

Read what Project 2025 has planned for wild animals including horses. Spoiler alert. lts sick.
Leave them babies alone. Let them be. Horses too. Our freedom symbols and yall want to get rid of them. Typical behavior.
Tell me you know nothing about wild horses and burros without telling me

Well, no sense to you, perhaps, but it does to the millions of us capable of love and empathy.
The symbol of the Democratic Party should be Karl Marx, not a donkey.
