I grew up in the 80's and 90's, no cell phone camera. When I was a little boy I used to stare at the organ player all service long. I'd walk over and stand next to him and watch-- just like people do today. Eventually I became an organist and played for my church for 20 years. If people looked just an inch deeper than whats on the surface, you'd understand that theres so much more going on that what the eye can see sometimes. You don't know HOW God is working in those people watching him play. You have no idea how the anointing with witch he plays, follows you for the rest of the week, how they are being inspired to serve the lord themselves. Musicians move int he spirit, just like pastors. The woman in the black and white dress recording him on his phone was moved to tears. As a musician, I can vouch that it's WAY more than just watching a guy play. WAY more. So don't begrudge people for watching the musician. God is working on them too.
Forty Nights, I just saw the U-tube comment you wrote about the organist. It seems you wrote it over two years ago, but, I just noticed your comment today. I simply want to say Thank You and let you know that you are so right about this young man. I have been kind of following his musical voyage for a few years. And although you may know who he is by now, I want to tell you, his name is Cory Henry. What you saw him doing on the organ at the church is indeed annointed. He was born in Brooklyn and has been playing the organ since he was about 3 or 4 years old. He went to live with his grandparents after both his parents passed away. He was raised in the church, and his mother was also an organist and she played quite a few other instruments. Long story short, he says that after his parents died he went through quite a few rough patches and gave his grandparents a very hard time. He says they didn't want him to go outside, except to church! So, he kind of rebelled and refused to go to school for a whole year at one point. But he began to study and listen to all kinds of music that year. So, fast forward, he joined the group Snarky Puppys! You can hear him with them, where he is doing some other Worldly Keyboard playing. I don't know how long he was with them traveling the world, but he has his own group called the Funk Apostles! Anyway there is a u-tube video that was taken of Cory Henry playing the organ, and I believe his mother is standing in the standing in the shadows. I think Cory was about 4 years old. Because someone asked him how old he was, and I believe he said 4 y.o. and held up four fingers. I got a chance to hear of him last year in Chicago at Millenium Park. He and his group were to leave Chicag and fly to Sweden. Thankfully, I got a picture of him and with him. He and his group had the City of Chicago totally jumping for joy. This is a great and Sadly segregated city, so, to see the way thousands of people of all races and nationalitys come together to see his concert, without any incidents was a most beautiful thing! Chicago needed that concert, like a flower needs rain. Everyone, please support this wonderful young man, who is seemingly doing all the right things in life. And although he is worldwide famous now, he seems to still be very, very grounded in the church. And I pray he will always be so. I invite the world to support this young man and lastlybIbpray he will always be guided by the godly spirit, hope's and dreams his parents and grandparents evidently instilled in him while he was young. He is indeed, Annointed. Listen For Yourself. And he us protected and covered with the blood! As I sensed something large, and ultra protective hovering over that park that night, every time I looked up! I never met his parents and don't know how and when they died, but something phenominal, serene and nurturing was definitely hovering over that park that night. I have been to concerts there before, but never felt that before, or since!
Of course Cory is extraordinarily gifted. What stands out to me is how in tuned he is to the service and how he praised God on that organ. How he enjoyed the other guys he played along side. How he payed homage to Derrick at the end. I won't compare him with anyone because you can't. Just enjoy his gift folks.
I love Corey but there are plenty organists just as good as him or better! My Uncle Raymond Stewart is not a popular organist but definitely one of the greatest to ever do it! Glenn Gibson Jr. Can play for any AND everyone also.
@@theadmiral460 It's so many good muscians out there that may never be popular or get the recognition they deserve but they are BAD!!! I love Twinkie Clark and yes COGIC has deemed her "the Queen of the B3 Hammond" but there are some female organist that can play rings around Twinkie! Here come the TCS fans! Lol
I am a musician, I heard everything, each modulation the pastor took he was right there also, this young man is bad, awesome, words cannot describe him, truly annointed and gifted from the most high omnipotent God !!! It takes someone awesome to do that. Only a true musician can do that because we can hear everything.. Keep on Corey letting God use you!!
If white people had church like this, I would be a devout Christian. Instead I'll just have to settle with being an agnostic jazz head and hope God can forgive me. His energy gives me hope in humanity. I love everything Corey does. Even if he was "just" a gospel player my mind would be blown. But knowing how well rounded he is as a musician put's everything on another level. Honestly all of these top notch Gospel guys are like that. Makes me wish I would have came up through the gospel ranks. Their use of energy is the best there is, they know that's the most important part and they have perfected it. I've had the pleasure of doing sound for a lot of different musicians and some of my favorites have gospel roots. God Bless the all! All of these guys are killing it too, not just Corey. Much love. God Bless.
Out of all the beastliness within this video, what stood out to me most of all was the sight of Cory Henry making the most outrageous facial expressions ever lol! It's reflective of how immersed he is in his music that he doesn't care about anything else. #LoveIt

Exactly. Cory Henry is one of the few church musicians that doesn't work to make others jealous. There are other video where he has worked to encourage others to be better at what they do.
As a church organist I can tell you that it's a lot of work. Not everyone appreciates that. Some people are downright nasty. Others are kind and appreciative. It's an interesting experience, indeed.

You mentioned Derrick Jackson. If he and Judith McAllister can listen to Cory play without criticism, why can't you? Some deliverance comes from the music and some from the preached word. Be careful when you say things that give no glory to GOD but sound more like the Pharisees of Christ's time.

ANOINTING! LOVE IT!
Thanks Op, thanks you tube and thanks Internet.
@CoreyHenry we definitely have the same style of play and motivation in the feel of transition from backing up a preacher to a praise break.
Man That boy poision. Bless ya Corey
And We Thank GOD for Yourself Gift🔥🎵👍🔥😏
You mentioned Derrick Jackson. If he and Judith McAllister can listen to Cory play without criticism, why can't you? Some deliverance comes from the music and some from the preached word. Be careful when you say things that give no glory to GOD but sound more like the Pharisees of Christ's time.
