      @Joey Tullis I mean it does make a difference between the music you play, classical music like the guy did needs proper attention and understanding of the audience, while some other types like jazz could just be enjoyed on the way too. Busking is like traditional patreon, so you do have to know the environment. It's not simply "Oh look hurr I play violin for ppl hurr durr notice me senpai hurrdd"

    • @glenamaddy5947
      @glenamaddy5947 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      John Benoit yes, totally agree. There's a Snarky Puppy tune, where the brass play a line and then, very very delicately, Corey plays in unison with the horns. Just like George, he makes Rhodes and Moog blend so well with brass. If (yeah, it's a huge 'if') if Frank Zappa were alive and making music now, I'd like to think Corey would be in that band.

    • @StewartGartland
      @StewartGartland 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glen Amaddy Haha, yes, I'd love to agree but somehow I think the devout christian Cory Henry and the profoundly atheistic Frank Zappa would not work together happily. Sad, for I love them both (and the late great George).

    • @glenamaddy5947
      @glenamaddy5947 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Stewart Gartland I think you underestimate Frank. He may not of believed in god in the traditional way of thinking, but he believed in music, you get me? You think with his italian background, for example, Steve Vai was anything other than a catholic? I think Zappa was intelligent enough to know when to put that aside for the sake of music.

    • @glenamaddy5947
      @glenamaddy5947 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Benoit I hear where you are coming from, but Frank never rammed his beliefs down the throats of people he didn't think deserved it. Atheism as we know it is a newish fad anyway and I think it's proliferation is as much to do with controlling people as organised religion was/is, so I'm not sure Frank would of been one of those new age humanists. Still, it's an academic discussion as Corey can't jam with the great FZ, mores the pity!

    • @glenamaddy5947
      @glenamaddy5947 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Benoit I agree, I think Frank would of seen the current trend for what it is, an further attempt to control people by issuing a belief system. I'm betting he'd of been gun ho against it!
      Not to get into all of that, but it was Zappa who tipped me off against Al Gores global warming film. Tippa Gore famously clashed with Zappa over free speech. When Al Gore starts going all groovy and 'save the earth'; on us, I just thought 'so an anti free speech advocate marries a left wing 'save the whales' hippy in a corporate suit?!?' I knew that movie was bull from the word go, thanks to Frank!

      You don't know how people interprete like/dislike.
      If it's about the playing, easy 'like' all day, most people can't play this tight even with a drummer.
      If I judge the "DEMO" it's a straight up dislike!
      It's basically a DEMO of a Kronos, with the ARP having a little guest role of a minute or so. I have gained almost no knowledge from it, he did not show if it can sequence or what, and barely got a glimpe of how broad the sound spectrum of the thing is, does it have envelopes? LFO's? FX? I don't know! When you learn more about the thing by looking at it's box, your demo is bad. It is called the ARP, and we get no arppegiator sound at all? wut? I bet he could have done some sweet arp latches on upper triads super imposed over the changes, but we don't hear it! It's like demoing a coffee machine, but just smell it, and not taste it.
