The person in the crowd was a kid! Pete admitted it in an interview years after this, and the fact he was yelling at a little boy just makes the whole moment that much more epic

Well-done. A few weeks back, I stumbled upon a channel called Secret Base that makes similar documentary style videos for other sports stories, and the ways in which they tell those stories is truly fascinating and world-class. I had thought bowling needed a similar type of coverage, and this is the closest thing to it that I've found. Cool insights from Belmo about the mystery fan, too. I've always held that there was no actual person receiving Pete's targeted remarks.

Pete Weber vs. Mike Scroggins in a TV match. I guess you couldn't get two much different personalities. My father got to see Pete's father Dick Weber bowl on TV back in the 50s and 60s, so I asked him, "Did Dick Weber act like that?" and my father said, "Nah." I was watching this live on TV and got a big laugh at the end. I was never sure if Pete was for real or if he was doing it for the cameras. I didn't remember that Gary Thorne was doing the broadcast.

I’ve been in situations to win matches. Obviously not as high stakes as the US Open. But anytime it happens it is a very nerve racking feeling. 3 things can happen. Atleast for me. 1. I ace the shot and win and it feels absolutely amazing when that happens. 2. My arm tenses up from the adrenaline and I yank the shot to the left. Or 3. I miss it at the bottom. 3 isn’t so bad as I’ve done that before and had some light swishers. I’ve actually bowled 300 3 different times and did all 3. I’ll always love bowling for those moments when it’s just you and your ball and you have to go and make that 1 shot. There nothing else like it.

10:50 had me dying, the whole time I’m think damn someone pissed off Pete. I’m like na bro no disrespect to one of the goats but bro was probably off that good stuff after seeing another vid of how wild he use to be on alcohol and other things. Pete easily became my number 2 favorite of all time just based off he’s pretty much just a human who likes to drink and bowl. But he’s on another level bowling! I mean the ladder wasn’t all crazy, but Pete was just pretty much unstoppable at that moment. Fagan was different but Pete was just a step ahead of Fagan.

Pete became so jaded and vain that it got his ass in trouble with one man in the crowd once. He was doing what he did by looking for excuses why he threw a bad ball and blamed it on the audience. This time he tried to pick on a guy that was tbh innocent and did absolutely nothing to cause Pete to try and embarrasse him. The guy told Pete if you get in my face again with that B.S. im going to do something about it. Well. Pete being Pete chose to mock him....next thing you know that Ken Criswell or Chriswell (sp?) Guy slapped the dog sh*t outta Pete. LOL. His glasses went flying. 😂 Pete deserved what he got. I find it hilarious anyways that a 20 lbs skeleton went around acting tough anyways. So when I heard about him getting bitch slapped I absolutely loved it. 🤭 A vain champion is a sorry person in my book.
BTW look who is sitting behind Pete when he was crying because somebody moved....on the rt you will see Scott the engineer from the Howard Stern Show....lol. he's a bowler also. Scott's idol....😂
