Watch this video all the way through to see how you could be collecting over $20,000 of unemployment in the next months.

There are two things you should be looking at:
The Pandemic Unemployed Assistance - this is going to expand coverage to you if you're self-employed. Your state should now be able to approve your unemployment if you're unable to work now.
$600/week Payout - this is a government backed bonus payout that everyone with unemployment is entitled to. If you are already collecting unemployment as an employee that was laid off, you also get this!
This means that people across the states will be receive tons of additional unemployment income. This is crazy!
I am making this video to let you know that you may qualify. Definitely check on your states website for the eligibility requirements. They are asking if you are now unable to work from home as a self employed worker - and they will be fact checking so don't BS it!
I hope you guys take action and apply if this is applicable to you! It's FREE money dedicated to help you get by during these hard times. Self Employed people are going to get hit hard, so that is why they are allocating an extra $260 billion into this fund.

1• Some states have two links for the filings .
    -General Unemployment portal and
    - Direct Unemployment portal
If the states you applying for has two links then u can go directly to the Direct Unemployment portal and file for the assistance
2• Some states have only One (1) link for the filings
    - General Unemployment Portal
If the states got only one link, then you must first file at the General Unemployment portal, if you get declined then they will now create a Direct Unemployment portal for you to apply
So in summary, if the states you applying at, has two website links including the Direct PUA link then you can go straight and apply with the Direct PUA link
If the states has only one website link for application, you first apply for the General Unemployment, if you get declined they will create a Direct PUA portal for you
3• When you get to the Employment status, those who filed as ‘Self-Employed’ get higher money than those who filed that they work in companies.
4• If you are asked about how much you earn annually last year , make sure the amount you mention is between $16,850 and $42,100.
The higher the amount u make the better
5• If you chose “Self-Employed” and they ask you what job you do for a living, tell them you a professional photographer and you take professional photos at weddings and parties for a living
6• And if they ask you, how the Covid-19 affected your occupation, just tell them you were booked for weddings and parties for the whole year, but because of this covid-19, you have to cancel all and stay home, so you not making any money
7• When you are asked to file for the 6 weeks, the amount you said u make in a year, you can calculate to see how much you make in a week and then an hour , type of earnings should be self-employed
8• In filling for the weeks, you have to know that the week start with Sunday and ends on Saturday, so if they ask for Week Endings date for each week, make sure you write the Saturday date for each week u filed for.. this very important or they will decline you

    ATTENTION CALIFORNIANS:
When filing for your UI claim, you will be asked for your last employer.
If you own your business or are self-employed, you should list yourself as your last employer.
If you are an independent contractor, you should list yourself as your last employer.
If you believe you are misclassified as an independent contractor instead of an employee, you should list the business you contract with as your last employer. Be sure to include:
The employer name, phone number, and address.
    Type of work performed.
    Dates worked.
Your gross wages and how you were paid (such as hourly or weekly).
If you are a gig worker, you should list your gig employer as your last employer.
THIS WAS TAKEN FROM EDD WEBSITE

Some states are not ready to accept applications for self employed people at this time. DO NOT apply through regular unemployment. There will be a separate way to apply but it is not ready yet. Keep checking your state for that option to open up. I am a Realtor in PA and know for certain that this is true because we are being updated daily through PAR and NAR, both are associations for realtors PLUS our local board is keeping us up to date.

Most States are like Ga, they have not made the necessary changes to their Online Application Process to include Self-Employed
Rushing to apply in many States will only lead to a lot of rejected applications and confusion
Might want to alter your comments to tell self employed people that they'll theoretically get unemployment, cause right now in most States it ain't happening

The issue is that the school district I work for is closed so there are 0 hours from my W-2 and my self-employed business breaks even on income vs expense. I literally make no money and am losing money. But Colorado has no way of helping yet as they are not taking claims yet for self employed and I need to file for both.

Charlie Marie isn’t that weird?? Bc even though we can work from home we aren’t making profit to support ourselves. So we are forced to just shut the doors to “qualify” vs keep working at our business during the meantime...and the whole idea of sales vs profit is crazy. Who cares about the sales if the profit is doesn’t cover day to day needs like food & toiletries and gas...

Thanks for your great video. Very informative and helpful. But I am not sure if I am qualified for this or not..I had a full time job until Nov. 2018 (I got W2). I also have had a side job (as an interpreter) since Mar. 2018. When I lost my full time job in Nov 2018 I didn't apply for unemployment insurance. (I should have applied for UI back then..) But as an interpreter, I didn't have consistent work hours. It is more like gig work (I got 1099 MISC for this job). I go out to interpret for clients only if Language network company notifies me there is a request from their clients, which is not much really.. (I only worked for total 12 days for the entire last year). My last assignment as an interpreter was the Feb. 24, 2020. Since then, I have not heard from Language network about any assignment. I am sure there won't be any assignment as long as Covid 19 debacle continues. It is not like Language network fired me or anything like that but obviously Covid 19 impacted my working hours. In my case, I can still apply for pandemic unemployment assistance? Should I let the Language network know that I am applying for pandemic unemployment assistance? In my State, I must apply for UI first in order to apply for Pandemic one. UI application asks about the income from Oct. 2018 to Sep. 2019. As for income for Oct, Nov, 2018, should I include W2 income from my full time job? or I only add 1099 MISC income from Language Network? And my last employer would be the Language Network? Or should I consider myself as self-employed? I know I will get $0 for UI but I just want to make sure to see if I am qualified for Pandemic unemployment assistance or not. Sorry for a long comment.

She can't work at all because they won't let her open her shop up, so I pray that she does end up getting some sort of aid from the state and government. The beauty industry is one of those businesses where you just cant work at home and its hard to even find work at home or in a different industry. I fear that she is going to be denied for the unemployment benefits anyways because most cosmotologists are saying they arent getting anything.

My question to you is and i will elaborate: I've been laid of work(restaurant) 3 weeks ago, filed for unemployment(NYC) and got approved($290 per week), this week I've also received an additional $600.
I have been hired part time yesterday and have an option to choose how much i want to work.
    My question is:
    1. When will i be ineligible for the state benefit ($290)? After making more then $290 per week or $504 per week (max for NY)?
    2. This question is related to the first one. If i make more then $290 or $504 will i be ineligible for the additional $600 as well?
I am asking this because i do need the money but also would need to use NYC subway to get to work which is not safe at all at the moment.

My daughter is 22 and works as a nurse assistant at Banner hospital for $15 an hour. They are being made to work through this crisis and are not getting paid the same as the people who are sitting at home. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. And the $1,200 stimulus check is a joke. Those of us that are out of work and have had no income coming in are getting a mere $1,200 while we're giving thousands to people who just got a check from a tax return for thousands. Instead of sitting around doing nothing, I went out and found a job during this. I am working at Safeway doing online orders for all of the thousands of people sitting at home. I am also making $15 per hour. And my son my daughter and I are continuing to pay taxes through all of this.

Can I apply for unemployment? I am teaching English online right now as a self-contractor, but I can't really go out and find a job at a grocery store or something since I am living with my parents who are a high-risk group. I have been trying to apply for an additional job on Indeed but am having no luck. I am in Michigan, and am not sure what the maximum numbers of hours you can work for before you are considered disqualified, since I still get a good number of hours. I also got a job with Marriott that I was supposed to relocate to in early June, however that got postponed due to Coronavirus, and I won't be starting until mid-September. I heard that if your job got postponed that might also qualify you for unemployment.

Hey Charlie, I tried to apply for unemployment benefits as a self-employed but I had several technical issues during the application. For example, I have to provide my last employer's information.. but I have no employer because I'm a self-employed. They also asked me if I earned more than $5030 (not remember the exact amount) from my last employer... same thing, no employer. I think a lot of people are having the same issue, if you have an answer it would be great. And thank you for your video !

I can't gve them an employer name, address, and phone number if I'm self employed. If I find out anything I will update you. Could you do the same? This is so frustrating.

We have our congressman who say we are eligible working on it. Sending the money through the states for the self employed was a HUGE mistake. Then you need to apply each week you are out of work. It seems like it will be a pain, but the initial application is the booger. Then after than you have an online log in and right before each week you are not working you file a weekly claim. Typically unemployed people have to do this EVERY week in order to continue getting unemployement. So it’s no different for you. Just file for that week, don’t file for the weeks you’re able to work, then file again when not working. Don’t quote me on this as I don’t know if the weekly filing has been stopped due to covid19, but if not, then this is how it’s done. Hope that helps!

This link should give you some insight. Not in Arkansas so I didn't read through it completely but it seems that you will likely have to go in to any Arkansas Workforce Center office in person. It did mention an online option, however I'm not sure if it's only for additional information about your claim or if you are able to file the whole claimed via internet.

It depends on the state you are in Koko, some States like New York ask all of their unemployed workers (including contractors and self employed ) to apply through Unemployment Insurance process then from there, they divide up to employees vs contractors/self employed. Check your States website.

If you applied for unemployment benefits but did not monetarily qualify, no action is needed. We will determine if you qualify under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and notify you by mail or electronic correspondence of your eligibility.
If you are still unemployed, continue to request payment. You can request payment using Unemployment Benefits Services at ui.texasworkforce.org and select Payment Request. Or call Tele-Serv between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central time at 800-558-8321 and select Option 1.
Please be patient as we are working as fast as possible to adjust our programming to fit this new law.
