Ride for Rhinos - An adventure in Africa on horseback

Imagine cantering in the African bush, getting up close to wildlife, swimming with your horse and camping under the stars, Ride for Rhinos is a unique horseback safari with an important objective. It entails riding some 250km in the Waterberg, South Africa, a spectacular landscape of open savannah and steep gorges. Led by Ant Baber, the group of 12 riders starts and finishes at Ant's Nest Lodge, part of the renowned Ant Africa Safaris, and enjoys a week that requires stamina, fitness and a sense of humour rewarded by moments of exhilaration and memories to last a lifetime.
The purpose of this adventure is to raise funds, via UK charity Waterberg Rhino, for maintaining the security of rhino, as well as supporting education and environmental projects.
The Waterberg is home to the second largest population of rhino on the planet. Conservation of this flagship species is paramount to preserve the fragile ecosystems and extraordinary biodiversity of this breathtaking part of Africa, as well as providing economic opportunities through tourism for the region.
