I still remember the day I first heard kebu's music, it was by looking up keyboard music online as I'm a a keyboard player myself, I was instantly hooked on kebu after hearing Crockett's Theme. Hands Down my favorite keyboard player. No matter what this guy plays it always great to my ears.
I found him the same way actually. I was looking up stuff for the Alpha Juno, and came across his video of the cover he did of "Papillon" by The Editors. I've been a huge fan ever since!!
Damn, I so love that song you play at the end. So energetic and powerful. Been a fan of your work for years now and what I admire about your work is that you understand the genre of synthesiser music and the instruments. Most of todays artists are one-button-preset-and-play which is flooding the music industry. So to hear your work it is so uplifting.Your work is right up there with many of the synth greats. Keep up the good work Kebu.
Great review of JD-XA and Fantom. Kebu does a great job of trying out these synths. I myself had a JD-XA before. It has both a digital and a real analog synth engine. For me, it is experienced as a modern version of the JD 800, which I still have.
good evening dear kebu thank you for showing us what you can do with your different keyboards and for the very beautiful melody at the end of this video have a nice night take care of you see you soon
I still remember the Roland SE-02 presentation by Kebu when it was new on the market, a few years ago. It lasted only 4 minutes or sth, but it was not only the best presentation of this particular model, but probably the best presentation of any synth on youtube. I know Kebu is very busy as a composer and performer, but I think a lot of people would buy immediately anything he's got in his hands. :)
Apologies for my mispronunciation! It should of course be "JD-XA", not "GD-XA"! I hadn't spoken English for a year when we filmed this, and we filmed four videos in one day. "J" is pronounced like English "G" in Swedish, hence my mistake. :)
That jam in the end was epic on its own, it gave me goosebumps! Still gutted that I missed your concert in Norway, but I suppose the world will get back to normal - eventually, so you can come back here and give us a good experience on stage :)
Kebu, it's very interesting to watch these videos about your Studio, don't stop, keep going. We look forward to new programs and stories about the legendary synthesizers. 🙋
Greeting from Taiwan. I believe your music opens the door of happiness and peace to the globe. It is an incredibly special gift to all universe and all creatures. I think not only humans love your music, but all other creatures enjoy and feel relax with it. Thank you very much for your talent and art. We have much more strength and power to deal with our daily issues. Stay Safe Take Care KEBU
Kebu, I enjoyed the demonstration of all of the equipment you utilize to create your music. I know you have composed many pieces including the symphonic style concert you premiered with both orchestra and chorus. Your musical knowledge and creativity are outstanding! I think of your as both a sound engineer as well as synth composer. I have enjoyed the body of your work very much! Be well, Will Ortiz
All of the Fantoms are awesome, I had the Fantom S, Juno G (same engine) and I had the Fantom X and just rebought the X with all 4 expasion slots filled including the Ultimate Keyboards....great !!
This look at your synths has been great. I am a late comer to synths and just got the jdxa. You make all the equipment t sound great, its taking me sometime to workout how to get the jdxa working for me. But I love your videos and they are always inspirational. Thank you
Cool, I love this synth I have the JP8000 and the JP8080 with different patches loaded into each synth. I just couldn't do without either of them in my studio, but each to his own. Can't wait for part two and part three - cheers!
I really enjoyed this video. The Fantom is a very powerful workstation! The sounds are wonderful. Your new studio is looking great. Great demo at the end of the video. Looking forward to more behind-the-scenes with Kebu! Cheers from USA.
I still don't understand why we don't hear about kebu more often. Man, this music is so great, I would buy any record right now and a lot of people would. I hope he's not one of those geniuses who have fabulous ideas but don't have the ability to give birth to a child. Or is he a fabulous technician but lacks ideas? Or a lousy businessman? Or does he need a good manager to bring this divine music into the world that makes your blood run cold.
Great to hear that! I have two studio albums out and one live album. Check them out on my bandcamp page: kebu.bandcamp.com/ ( and I'm working on a third studio album)
Glad you like the jd-xa I like mine but it has a lot of negativity. Glad you mentioned patch storage on monos - I think it’s essential but so many new synths don’t bother! Love the new Fantom it’s a real beast😂Out of my price range but something to aspire to one days. Thanks for featuring all these!
@@kebu Yes! Comparing it to the one on the much older V-synth??? ( which to me is sort of what it replaces)....shame Roland didn't take some design aspects from it. Thanks again 👍
Wow, I didn't expect it to end so quickly. I was really getting into your demo track. I agree with you on the JD-XA. It's a good machine. Nice demo of the Fantom !
I have a small JDXi, it's funny, with a small analog part, and some very intersting Roland drums sets (tr909, tr808, tr707, 727..... which in themselves are worth enough buying this synth for its cheap price), but I wouldn't have thought its big brother would be this powerfull!
Hi Kebu. The Roland synths are really amazing and the Roland sounds are now legendary. But the Fantom series sound is pure beauty embodied ! And your performance at the end is gorgeous. By the way, is the pad sound at 15:56 a preset ?
Good question. I think it was the Fantom that synced the arpeggiator in the JD-XA (or was it the other way around)... At least the SE-02 didn't use the MIDI clock, because the JD-XA was just sending notes to the SE-02.
@@kebu Thanks for your kind (and quick !) answers. Sorry for the account mismatch, Djimmee Music is my musical account. I don't get how the wheel on the Fantom seems to open/close cutoff on the arpeggiator on the JD-XA ?? O_o
many thanks hope you can do a studio set up of how its all midi together .... as have two roland a-880's and two motu Midi time pieces that i need to patch up... and many thank for a wonderful vlog
Great presentation, got me thinking how many of those analog systems are reconfigured and adjusted digitally without creating unwanted distortion and noise from the "mechanism" that acts like the potentiometers and shielded patch cables on a modular synth.
I still remember the day I first heard kebu's music, it was by looking up keyboard music online as I'm a a keyboard player myself, I was instantly hooked on kebu after hearing Crockett's Theme. Hands Down my favorite keyboard player. No matter what this guy plays it always great to my ears.

Me too. So Perfect..
This is why we love Kebu.

Everyone here just wants Kebu to praise the synth that they own at home. Juno 1 please Kebu! Amazing performance at the end Kebu, thank you!
And juno 2, mine is now fully functional again........ Its alive!
Yea, ditch the big F and do some old school D-50 praising ;)
that JDx is super sweet though...analog supersaw...korg preset m-500 emulation
And because of this presentation i have bought Fantom 8 and JD-XA as well. Not a single regret.

some amazing sounds, gotta love Roland for making such great synths. Great introduction Kebu :-)
Brilliant demonstration of the jdxa and the fantom, they are both very capable synths, thanks kebu.

Wow. De phantom is magic and de SE-02 much fun!
