This video makes it look a lot easier than it is, this guy is skilled! If you look at the bulb from the front you can eventually see it poke through and it will help you line it up - this helped me once I realised I could watch it come through
I am totally with you! The most tricky bit is the bit he doesn't give you any instruction on. Getting it into a position where it "just clicks into place" is really fiddle and my hand hurts a lot now 😂
Excellent and very informant clear little video. Miles better than similar (but confusing) videos out there and straight to the subject matter. After watching made the 2nd attempt a 5 minute job to replace both bulbs. 👍
Thank you for this video, you just proved it can be done without stripping the front drill and lower arch liner out lol. Will go find someone with small hands to assist me 😆
Just done this job. No way on earth i was budging caps by hand particularly driver side. What worked for me was using a file and tapping with a hammer which got the thing to turn. Thanks for video was helpful
Thank you for the instructions! For those like me with a large hand, I recommend using a monkey wrench to turn the plastic connector. It worked for me.
Brother you're good! the drivers side is a real PITA! for some reason my bulb keeps falling out the socket so I end up pulling out the wheel well. Whatever car I buy next I will definitly check out how to install a bulb as I would have never bought this car.
Ive done it once 4 years ago and now the light has burned out. Man what a pain in the ass it has been trying to replace the driver side bulb. So far ive only managed to drop one bulb into the abyss 😮
When replacing drivers side globe there is another cover next to it If you twist it an turn the plug doesn’t come out and has small wires attached does anyone know what it is for?
If you have big old fat hands, remove 3 screws (torx) from the wheel well liner and you can easily reach and see (left side - drivers side in USA 🇺🇸) other side is easier to reach.
@martindeluca5069 both sides not working or just the one you removed? It could be that you broke the filament when you removed it or it’s not quite twisted back into position?
Nice one . saved me going to garage .. they told me it was headlamp out to get to it ... passenger side was a bit more fiddly.. ask Donald trump to help with his small hands ..
1:51 It's better design that of my Fiat Stilo, chaining bulb is nightmare. Cursed Italian engineers Don't know why TH-cam recommended this but hey if i buy Golf or Polo i have knowledge how to change the bulb
Incredible how VW build their cars. They start with the headlight bulbs then build the rest of the car around the bulbs. Ingenius !

This video make it look soo much easier than the others ive found, where you have to pretty much dismantle the front of the car!!
Thank you, I’m glad it’s easier to follow 😊
Thanks for showing both sides!!
Thanks for this. Really helped me with changing mine just now.
Just completed my bulbs installation beautifully. Thank you!!

So I do not need to jack the car up after all. Thanks for uploading the video.
You must have the grip strength of the Hulk. I could not get the plastic cover off for my low beams. Daytime, super easy.

Thanks mate. Your video saved me a lot of time and effort

Thankyou Sir! Nice video!!

This took me 2 hours 😅

Decent video well done
Thank you 😊
the bulb holder wont twist, my hands are all blue at this point
Did you need to clear the error for the light after that?
Hi, no need to clear it will automatically recognise the new lamp
What are the so what are the other light bulbs in the headlight? I’m trying to make them all LED
The main headlight bulbs:
Halogen:
Dipped beam - H7 (like in video)
Main beam - H15
Front FOGs - H11
Front indicators - H21W

I have upgraded package and it's a pain in the butt
Hi bro I just tried to change my bulbs and for some reason it won’t come back on any reason why ?
Hi mate, if it’s the correct lamp there’s no reason it shouldn’t work… unless it was damaged in the post. I don’t think you would have blown a fuse 🤔
@@TurnersWorkshop97 no i basically took it out to see how I would need to change it if I needed to and put it back in and it didn’t work

Do the new OEM expansion tanks contain the silica bags ?
I don’t think the new oem ones contain the silica bags because they have moved to a coolant which doesn’t require them :)
I don’t have that access point in my MK7 GTI. Strange, no obvious way to hey to the glove.
What a fucken nightmare I'm thinking of scrapping the car because of this.
cant take it out
Why make it so difficult
Unfortunately the designers don’t think of the people who have to maintain them 😁

Absolutely terrible design for maintenance, the best system is by Volvo as you simply pull 2 long pins & the whole headlight unit comes out.
That’s exactly why I prefer the older stuff, much nicer to work on! 😁
Hello, please help me, I have a VW Golf 1.2 tsi petrol, I want to change all the front bulbs but I don't know what they are.
