It's insane how much things develop over time. These are still insanely fast times but nowhere near as unheard of for someone that age. Then there is Thomas Heilman... 44.67 at 15 years old...
Not anymore cuz Caeleb 100% crushes Joseph and also he owns the WR, and u look at Joe, he couldn’t even reach final in the 2019 world champs. If u analyze their techniques with physics, u can see that upward force when Joe breaths above the water and Caeleb’s is pointing forward.
Two Olympic 100 fly gold medalists, and the WR holder in both long and sc meters, swimming right next to each other in high school. Special video! (I know Dressel hasn’t won the 100 fly at the Olympics. But he will, and probably in another WR.)
Schooling would go on to win the 100 fly at the OG 3 years later in an Olympic record...and Dressel 8 years later in World record fashion...Both 2 time individual champions in the 100 fly at the NCAA level. I think even Sergio had no idea that he was witnessing two future Olympic Champions...unbelievable how well these two both developed.
Obviously Dressel had a competitive advantage here thanks to his underwater skills, however Joe stroke is better in my opinion, great race from both swimmers
If you get a 1: 37 in the 100 butterfly today and you keep training for 3 years, you can shave like 20 to 30 seconds easily. But if you got a 45 its waaaaaay more difficult to develop your time...
Its crazy how these guys developed
I remember watching this back in high school, their both amazing olympians now
they're, and Schooling was a flash in the pan.
Same

frking ridiculous
WR and OR holders side by side.
Joseph just wash up
wow they've been rivals for a while now.

This was a 100 yard race. The 100 metre record was broken recently by Dressel and is 47.78.

Both OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS in this event now
Wow, I have never seen Caeleb Dressel breath every stroke, I thought he just did every other.
It’s crazy how to Olympic record holders in the event raced against each other in high school
the birth of two champions

Dressel's turns make me want to scream
Mitchell Mages in a good or bad way

Anthony Pohle they are part of the race of course, crucial especially in butterfly, freestyle and backstroke as you are allowed to do 15m underwater
It most definitely isn’t. You see how late joe breathes?
A .dizzle they both breath every one stroke
I disagree joe breathes so late in his stroke and his timing is weird
@@itsYoung probably the last 25 he was going up to grab the breath
Crazy how Dressel only shaved 3 seconds of his time in 5 years. That considering he was a teenager 5 years ago
