    Something I notice that most people skip over in the scripture is the part about "I ate nothing pleasant". People who provide advice on making the Daniel diet delicious I feel aren't following what Daniel actually did during his 21 day fast. We have very little information on what he actually had to eat. But just try to research the types of food available in that region, during that time, under the circumstances in which he was subjected to. I don't think he had any delicious meals prepared. I think he was simply in mourning, and as such, and in God's way, subjected himself to 21 days of suffering.

    • @melze1428
      @melze1428 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Could be too legalistic. I think perhaps pleasant refers to type of food rather than flavor. I find all fruit pleasant. Well….with the exception of a couple. I’m doing this with a group and it’s my first time and seems intimidating at first but after researching a bit, now looking forward to doing this for 3 weeks with focus on the spiritual. What a blessing it will be. 🙏🏼

      @@melze1428 So I did this for 30 days. While I can't say with certainty that anything spiritual happened, I did feel much better physiologically. I may have taken it to the extreme by eating almost nothing but raw vegetables (I did have oatmeal with raw peanut butter and banana as my cheat meals). I would highly recommend this to anyone however, if you're feeling sluggish, depressed, anxious or just have that unhealthy feeling in general. Coming straight out of God's word, this and actual fasting must be some of the ways God has instructed for us to take care of our human forms. During my research, western culture has lost touch with this as most of the rest of the world adheres to these methods. Western culture is about eating, all the time.

      Was it not the Daniel fasting for 10 days? Check Daniel 1:12,

    • @lizfreeman8802

      I believe the purpose of the fast is to slay my flesh. When I think of all these menus it's too time-consuming which leads to frustration. So just eating the fruit and veggies works. After the fast, I'll cook these menus which are good for me all year.

    • @mjbelle23

      Something I have notice is people don’t realize is there is 2 different fast in the book of Daniel: first one - chapter 1 :12-15 the test was for 10 days but it went on longer then that people take this fast and make it 21 days.
      2nd fast which you are referring too is in Daniel 10:2-3 both fast are biblical.
      Be we are too remember what God says in Isaiah 58:6 that’s the Fast the Lord calls for ultimately and Mathew 6:16-18

    If you start detox 2 week before you start your fast you can avoid that altogether, ie : start cutting back on carbs , sugar ,and caffeine until you are off of that stuff ( before the fast ) . GOD BLESS

    A Daniel fast is basically eating like a vegan raw/or cooked. So when it comes to food choices and what you can eat, you can look up vegan dishes and recipes all over TH-cam. One of my favorite is the Whole food plant based cooking channel. Very clean and the closest to natural as they come. For those who like variety check out different vegan chef recipes. Indian, Thai, Carrigan, Spanish etc. . . To the host of this channel 👍 👍. Great job! Great energy 100%. 👏👏

      Am confused, Daniel fast is either 10 or 21 days according to the Bible. Why do you say Daniel when it will only be 7days? Anyways I suppose the appelation is not what's important but the heart and effort, but I advise you read Matthew 6:18, you're not supposed to broadcast your Fast.

      Daniel fast is supposed to consist of all natural foods grown out of the ground( fruit & vegetables ) with water only. He spent time in fast and prayer and sacrificed the royal foods. Now this is getting away from the point making it so delicious with unnatural seasonings.

      Fasting from pleasant food. That is a sacrifice. And God sees as a fast. U may not see it as a fast but God sees as a fast/sacrifice. Crucify in the flesh from all those pleasant food that the body craves. Even abstaining from social media can be a fast before God and spending time with him.. And. Following isaiah 58 in all that. Daniel fast is done mostly if people want to cut addictions want clarity and to hear God more. And to break addictions.
