- Rita is a hard working single mom of three young girls. When she decided to enter the RV lifestyle and the travel trailer wasn't her thing, she converted a church shuttle bus into a campervan motorhome with help from some friends. Rite was nice enough to give us a tour of her 1999 Ford E-450 shuttle bus conversion
Plz let this lady know how impressive she is! As a single mom, she's found a safe & secure, affordable, efficient, & comfortable means by which she can have many, many vacays & adventures w/her daughters! She's also teaching her daughters that not only can their mom do anything, but they can, too! It's just a great story!
Thank you for watching
I sure hope shes looking back at this video reading Comments
Marvelous job. You are SO gifted and motivated
Yesssss
,
Awesome job. The pullout faucet for outdoor shower IS GENIUS.! 434 dislikes......How can any sane person not appreciate the work that went into this build!?!
Thank you for watching. Not sure why the dislikes
Thank you for your sweet comments and appreciation. 😊
New Jersey Outdoor Adventures it’s because no one else has such a amazing shuttle bus
@@talia._alysa0149 Amen ! This is even a Blessing for anyone who cannot afford to pay 8oo.oo/more for ŕent.intimes like these people better start thinking ahead!! My bus is almost identical.I started a business with mine. Get ins.quotes prior to purchasing+
They are just unhappy people who don't want anyone else to be happy.... So sad that these people can't look for the good in others!!! There is absolutely NO reason ANYONE should mark a "dislike" on this video. Rita is a very special lady who did a brilliant job of putting together a nice "budget friendly" camper for her and her girls!!! Kiddos and more power to her to her!!!!
Thank you for the the tour, Rita! You did an awesome job!
Thank you
Thank you
This Mom really did go to a lot of work on this for her girls. Be safe out there, family ;-)

@@sinfullyblondie Thank you.
She's a smart lady! Great work with her shuttle!
Thank you for watching
Beautiful shuttle bus!!! Thank you for allowing us in to your beautiful home.
Thank you
Brilliant ideas! Especially the hangers and hooks, then the curtains! Amazing !!
Thank you Nancy
How nice of you to say. I am glad you enjoyed it.
one of the best bus conversions ever...
Thank you
thank you
I had to sign in just to say that this woman is the most pleasant person ever. She has a great attitude.
🥰 That is so sweet. Thank you for saying that.
Awesome! How intelligent n courageous of her! Such open n large-hearted! God bless ya Rita!
Thank you
Very sweet of you to say! Thank you
I love the beds! Finally someone who made proper beds for her children ! Great conversion, I saw some comments talking about the toilets but I doubt they let it open like that, they probably have curtains.. I think it is a good spot because it's easier to put the smell out and in such a tiny space there's not exactly an ideal spot but toilets
Thank you for watching
camille thank you for you kind words. Actually there is no smell, it that was my thought too, good ventilation. Yes, we do have curtains for privacy.
My childhood dreams are right here.my parents did lots of camping and never used a vehicle to travel and live in but it was so engrossing to see these solutions for living with the four. Thank you for your kind tour.
Thank you for watching
Nancy Anne Berg glad you enjoyed it! Thank you.
Idk how I’d feel about taking a poop out in the open like that with everyone watching even if they’re my family 😭
Thank you for checking this out
🤔 I wonder too. I don’t take a poop with everyone watching.
I'd send everyone outside!!!!!
@@lindahh798 Well let's pray that it's not storming next time you have to poo.
Iam in awe... With the lady and this conversation....
Thank you Angela
Oh yeah I would definitely buy one and live my best camping life in it.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching
Hey, that's my plan too!
Rita, most of the critics here don't have a way of living in the outback like you 4 girls so they are envious of you. Don't sweat over their comments. The van is lively and your life is to die for. 10/10
Thank you for that. It is their view and I don't mind. It is a reflection of them, not me, right? Your words are very kind and appreciated.
Thank you
There's a lot of simplified carpentry in here that show a lot of ingenuity. Great! saving this for future viewing.
Thank you for checking this out
Thank you. The goal was trying to come up with creative simple ideas.
Glad you noticed.
I LOVED this and I admire Rita so very much! She did a great job on this conversion...everything is so practical and organized! Best wishes to her and her girls and safe travels! Thanks for the video!
Thank you for your kind words.
Thank you very much.
30 inch wide mattress x 6 feet is bunk bed size if you want to buy a regular mattress. Great buildout. I love all the windows you get with a shuttle bus conversion so you can see the great outdoors and not feel confined. Happy travels.
Thank you very much Carol
Thank you. We needed 4 inch mattress and the bunk mattresses are only 5.5 feet with curved bottom. We LOVE the windows and made it a priority to keep them open. Thank you for your kind words.
I love this conversion! What an intelligent and wise person. If my GMC Savana 2500 cargo van becomes too small I will certainly consider a shuttle bus conversion. Impressive!
Rita is awesome!!!! her girls are lucky to have a mom like her
Thank you
Thank You!
I’ve never heard of magnetic paint great idea
Thank you for watching
It is a primer and then you paint over it with another paint. It is okay, but not really strong.
@@OldSkoolieSimple Thanks for all the great ideas, Rita! Really love your build! Have lots of fun! 💖🌹💖
@@rose8662 Thank you.
Rita, good job on your tiny house shuttle bus! It looks comfortable to spend days in and it still looks spacious and bright. The outside shower + the magnetic strips (that hairbrush! ♥️) are very thoughtout.
Thank you. So kind of you to say. Thriving on Simple.
Rita,
You’re an amazing Mom, and there is no doubt your girls will have some of the best childhood memories to look back on when they grow up. I have a feeling you’re going to be taking out your grandchildren when it’s time too. You’ve done a great job and take a moment to be proud.
Thank you for watching
AWE!! Thank you. That means a lot! I think I will take a moment ;-)
Again, thank you Rita, you are so special! 🦊💕
You are so welcome
Thank you.
I am in love with this conversion! I've watched it four times now and I've shared it. I will be looking up the conversion experts who helped make this build happen. I am stoked! Been sleeping in my cargo van with my five dogs and two cats for six months now while still working until I retire this summer and finally hit the road! And we're going to do it in a converted shuttle bus!!!
Thank you very much. I am glad it was helpful
Thank you. It really moves me that you are influenced by this build. Check your notifications.
@@OldSkoolieSimple how do I do that?
@@OldSkoolieSimple I don't understand what you meant by "check your notifications."
Very nice conversion by a mother, with the girls around.. Salute to the mother.. Namaste from India..
Looks great! I especially like the bedroom design. It is just my daughter and I, so the "twin" bunks would work fine for us.
If I were you, I would do the trundle. Lot more room during the day and more headroom. IMHO Although you would have many more options with just the two of you.
Thank you Cheryl

@@OldSkoolieSimple Hi Rita, I really think it's great that you didn't make your kids sleep in smaller beds, so that you could have a larger one.
While I understand some couples with little kids saying that they want some privacy, a king bed for the parents requiring little kids to sleep in small and narrow beds is just unfair.
So congrats on a gorgeous bus that looks well loved. I hope you and your daughters are doing well right now.
I am so impressed!!!!!!! God bless her/girls.
Thank you very much
Thank you.
I like how she opens the window, turns the faucet and Walla! a warm 🚿! so clever!
Thank you.
This is just an awesome conversion! Good for you Rita!
Thank you.
Thank you very much
Hurrah Mom! You're inspirational, your girls are very lucky...Happy. safe travels.
Thank you SOOOO much!
Thank you for checking it out
I really don't like how exposed the toilet is. But I drive a 40 foot bus as my job. So getting a bus like this is appealing to me. I'd probably add on a garage to the entire back since I don't need those back windows at all. I do love the skylight built where the hatch was. And I love having the back handicapped door there especially since you have children. It's a good safety measure, it must really help with ventilation and it seems it would help when you are trying to get something cooked and kids are running in and out. I'd get one of those screen things you can put in front of the doors with the magnets down the center opening so you could keep the doors open without the problem of bugs. I love the bus though and I give her kudos for having the courage and ingenuity to do this. Her kids will always remember it.
That and I could never go for food storage next to the toilet that’s like it being in the bathroom to me.
She could build a thin MDF wall or make a box to cover the toilet. She’s still adding to it, renovating it. I’m sure she will realise that it’s not very hygienic where it is. It is a great bud to house 5 people.
You have built an adorable AND practical van. God speeds to all of word Van living! !!!@
Thank you for checking in Linda
Thank you very much.
Amazing build!!! such a good flow!!! all the windows visible
nice simple systems. just fantastic!!!

This is the 2nd video today I watched on your channel! This is the type of conversion I want to do, too! She nailed it with that bedroom! And I like tthat she keeps is simple! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Seastorm 1978. When you are ready to build, reach out. I'd love to help. Thank you for your kind words. I have to admit, the bedroom is my favorite part and has worked perfectly. The mattresses are only 4 inches and made by Totcha. SOOO COMFY!
What a wonderful interview. I had been in love with vans, now thinking about a Skoolie but Rita has made me stop and think about a shuttle bus. She did a great job! What an interesting and insightful person.
Thank you. Feel free to email me any questions you have about Shuttle Buses. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have Rita@PrettySimple.Life

That was amazing Rita..good for you! love the use of shuttle bus! Very smart how you did it all! Save time and money! kudos and thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much Jim.
Thank you.
Very nice Job
I've seen a few other conversion like but this is one of the better ones, the way she did her layout best use of space.
It's unfortunate but a lot of times these vehicles go for scrap because it's hard to find buyers for them, but this is definitely a good use for something like this.
I've actually seen one where they kept a wheelchair lift and used that as a outside shower and extra space.
Thank you
So True. I am happy with the layout too.
The outdoor shower idea and other ideas are Genius
Thank you.
I love all the magnet ideas and the sink-shower combo use of the sprayer. Very creative and smart.
Thank you very much
I’m jealous! She got to meet Patrick & she didn’t have to buy an airstream to do it!
Thank you 🍻
Awesome 👏 she had some great ideas I’ve not seen before ❤️👍😂🚌😎😊🎬🎶🎥 thanks for sharing and safe travels

Trundle bed! OMG it's the most clever solution to the problem of needing 4 beds, and only having room for 2 in a tiny space 😃
Thanks. I thought so. LOL. It has worked out GREAT!

Good Job Momma!! God bless your travels and your girls!!

Thank you Rita for sharing your fantastic build. I really love some of the ideas she has incorporated . I thought I was dead set on a van but if I could snag one of the tiniest shuttle buses I totally would. Main goal is to be stealth so I can keep costs down.
Good luck! You can totally do it!
Yes you can do it
i love it! i have three daugthers myself and a single dad. your truck/bus camper may just suit our need for a camping truck. right now i have an old 199 kia dropside ceres for conversion.
Thank you for watching
mitchell Flemings i’d love to help you design one. Check out The Gardner SHOW on Facebook or instagram. Thank you for your kind words!
She is adorable! Seems a lovely lady.
Thank you
Thank you
Awesome! I purchased a 25-ft 2005 E450 shuttle bus 14 months ago and I love it. It was fantastic to see a conversion made on a vehicle similar to what I have. That key for the door is interesting. No one told me about that. Wish I had the handicap door and a back door in mine. But I will be replacing the back emergency window with a double door soon enough.
Thank you for watching

Nice build, smart use of space for the number of people using the rig. The width of Mini buses make them very desirable. And that engine must be a very good one because of all the engines out there that particular engine seems to have widespread approval. Very purpose built rig. Simple and to the point. Good job Patrick. 👍👍👍
Rita is brilliant. Great ideas.

New Jersey Outdoor Adventures oh, I did! I’m from east end LI, recently Catskill mountains and ten years, Charleston.
Rita Gardner The Gardner SHOW Summer Home On Wheels nice job. Glad you shared it. I’ve been contemplating for some time. Not sure I can do it solo.
@@lindacianchetti3599 Of course you can't do it solo. But you CAN take it one tiny step at a time. Don't look at it as a monstrous task. Step by step and when you can't take a step you Google, TH-cam or ask anybody you can. Seriously, you can't eat a meal in one bite, right? Take one bite at a time. If you get full, take a break and start up again later.
This is amazing! What an incredibly creative transformation!!! To say that I am impressed, will be a gross understatement. Simply love it. 🥰
This has a lot of good ideas. I've been heavily researching what vehicle I need to purchase to convert. I'm very interested in one like this.
Thank you for watching
im researching also theres so many different ways and ideas to choose from to build
Thank you. We love it.
That really was an excellent idea and she was so charming.

@@OldSkoolieSimple im sure, keep up with fluids and changes and it will be fine....of course though everything breaks down...I do remember towing a Mack Truck with a blown piston with 710,000 miles on it....the actual owner though wasn't keeping up with it.

I absolutely love my 2001 E450 with the 7.3 powerstroke. I am surprised how well it does pulling a huge 27' enclosed car trailer weighed it yesterday 22,300lb combined truck and trailer. Things a beast. Just needs 4x4! I'll do it next winter
This shuttle bus is a great conversion!
Thank you for watching

I love this shuttle bus conversion. For me a solo traveler I would add a shower area where the bunks are for me....other than that, it would be perfect for me.

That was bad ass I love the battery system . Her carpenter did a great job although all those windows might get a little cold if you’re out in the winter but insulated covers would fix that I guess but great conversion just the same . You, as a mom and woman in general, are inspirational!
Thank you very much Alexandria
Absolutely awesome. Amazing.
Thank you.
I've been doing a lot of consideration into "van life" but I knew a van was a bit on the small side for me n I knew that If i was to entertain the idea of "van life" it would have to be a shuttle bus! I'm just so happy to see someone else felt the same way as me. Not only is it roomy, but theres so many options, the only down fall I see is that it uses diesel, which can be costly
Thank you for watching
That's so interesting. It's the second time today that I heard an American say that Diesel is more expensive, when where I'm from (Germany/Europe) Diesel is actually the cheapest option.
I wouldn't mind having a van, but as a family of six the regular Sprinter Van will get really cramped. The bus in this video looks so roomy in contrast. That'd be lovely to have. Unfortunately, streets in Europe are so narrow, driving around in one is no fun, I'm afraid. Also I'd need an extra license, and consodering that the standard driving license is 2.000€ already, I really don't want to know how much the Bus license will be 😩.
So what you can take from that: if you consider to come to Europe, don't get a bus 😅.
Interesting bus conversion. Thanks for sharing. Hope you're enjoying and having a great time in your bus conversion. Happy trail !!
Than you.
Thank you for watching
