That humming that the formation's engines produces is kind of ghostly and haunting, like a lazy, droning swarm of bees. Especially during the quiet when there isn't any action happening. Just death's deliverers, in transit to drop their destruction on some unsuspecting factory workers.
Very cool. One of my relatives was a flight engineer (top turret gunner) on a B-24 in Italy with the 461st Bomb Group, 15th Air Force. He did 12 to 15 missions over Germany in 1945.
The themes in 46 are so cool, we badly need a 2018 update of this game!
i agree its such a good game
I feel like '46 is a unique sim, a product of its time; the detail is just lacking enough to feature literal hundreds of decently-modeled aircraft, upwards of a thousand in the case of modding. To even try to replicate it today would, frankly, be totally impossible in a sensible timeframe.

Do you use BAT mod for il-2 1946? If so how do you "get" access to other planes? I've just downloaded the mod and its started me up in T.G.A (The Golden Age) post-ww1 and pre-ww2 planes only, and I want to know how to change this so I can use many other planes for different era's. Thanks.

Can you fly the Ta-152 at high altitude? And what do you do with fuel mixtures at different altitudes?
Yes, you can fly the Ta-152. The fuel mixture is automatic in that plane, so you don't have to care about that. The lowest mixture i ever had to use was 40% in some japanese fighter, when we attacked B-29s at 30.000ft / 10.000m.

All the dynamic campaigns use the freakin A20 it's really annoying.
I've tried switching out the planes but it just ends up with B17s trying to bomb a column from 4k

Sure, i could, but i won't. I can just imagine the comments that would create. Even the smallest flaws are pointed out to me and such a big inacuraccy would be critisized over and over again. (I don't know if you are just not aware of the fact that there were no B-29s in europe or if you'd just like to see that scenario.)

Modactivator enables you to mod your game yourself. I primarily use it, because it also exchanges the game executable with one that uses more memory, which enables you to have more planes at a time.
