If you look in a mirror at exactly 4:20am and say 'industrial' three times GoodTimesWithScar will appear behind you to talk about late 18th and 19th century block palettes.
And then he will lecture you about Star wars for one hour until he notice that you fell asleep, and then leave with his elytra to shoot some innocent hermits in the face
I love how he keeps joking about “the new era, of texture.” I’m actually exited to see the evolution of this technique. Crazy how this far into mc he keeps finding ways to grow. Good job bdud, keep it up!
He is definitely working out the kinks in this style, as he said a build need to be good from afar, middle distance where most textures are still being compressed by the game, and from standing right next to it. And the texure = depth technique used as a stand alone is best from afar. This build had just a smidgen of real depth (walls, stairs, glass panes, a couple blocks sticking out) and it really helps sell the texuring. (It was also lower contrast between obviously similar blocks like dark oak and birch) I also think over time we will get used to the "design language" so it will be easier to see the intent and won't necessarily stand out as much, i mean this is only the 3rd build he's made a video on with this technique. (Debuted with the gate, then the house, and now the moss factory) He is definitely starting his own era and time will tell if the community can/will follow.
I like how diverse Minecraft building has become compared to how it used to be now there’s so many ways to build using shapes or textures and most builders have a unique style rather than just relying on just architectural styles like modern or medieval they can focus on using depth like grian or scar or shape like Keralis or colors and texture like bdubs
Agree. So many blocks now in the game and the amount of things you can do is so much more than it used to be. Comparing the builds of today with the ones from say 2012, the difference is night and day
And somehow i still want to see a 2012 Minecraft house crop up somewhere in a moder series, just blocky cobble, glass blocks, and oak planks with some water features. (The textures have changed so much since then, alot less internal contrast so it may be slightly less eyebleed) I think it would be hilarious for something like that to crop up in spawntown one season just as a juxtaposition against the modern builds. (It could work if the theme of the builder was every new build advanced am update or two in style until the modern day was reached, i could see etho or grian doing it) Don't get me wrong, i love the beauty of modern builds like scar's tree, Etho's Monstrosity (interior), and basically 99% of builds in Hemitcraft that are way above my ability which is currently just making decent machicolations on castle-y builds but i need to work on shape alot. (I can kinda texture but don't really build large enough yet to get away with it)
@@jasonreed7522 I think I know the hermit you might wanna watch. The classic oak-stone-cobble combination with bases scaled specifically for the player to inhabit? That's a very Iskall way of building, why don't you try to check out his series
OO INTERESTING! i love all your medieval style builds but i also love how you could apply your detailed and textured building style to more modern-style buildings! i'm excited for this era!
May I just say, as an artist, I love when Bdubs talks about what he’s learned from studying art. 😌☺️✨ Listening to how passionate he is about it all is so infectious; it always makes me *so* happy and inspired! ☺️✨
I love how Bdubs has changed the way of playing 11 years old game in several videos, I have never seen anyone dedicating so much time to a building, ideas and techniques behind videos are awesome!!! Thanks for your content!!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what the Redpunk aesthetic looks like when it's an entire environment full of it! I hope to see more of the "prettystone" concept from HC8 incorporated into the style. I think Redpunk will really lend itself to it.
The giant "2" on the side of the building is one of the best details I've seen in a minecraft build ever. And I've been watching your videos for nearly a decade! Great job on this. I've been loving the new texturing and building techniques. Keep up the great work and keep on growing :)
This is such a big help! My current base is just after Industrial Revolution, and I haven't started any of the Industrial Factory buildings yet because I was trying to find a way to make them feel unique instead of every one of them just being a mix of brick, granite, and a tiny bit of terracotta like you typically do, but this building doesn't only give me an idea of different texturing but also like you said the lack of grass and other small details that might get overlooked. Thanks Bdubs for teaching all of this stuff it's a big help on trying to improve at the game.
The new style is a great coincidence for me! I’ve had a medieval world for nearly two years now and decided a few weeks ago that I’m bored of the style and started planning a more urban Victorian/1920s-40s style city. It’s a new thing for me so this’ll be super helpful, I’ve already been watching builds from Aqua town! Looking forward to it
Sometimes you just blow my mind, putting all those general art cannons into Minecraft. I know those by heart, but I still struggle to make them work for me in the game. Thank you for translating them to us! I just love watching this series and the chance to learn from your beautiful art mind
4:00 I'm really enjoying the use of shading to create depth from larger distances, especially since your projects are usually on such a grand scale. This should help keep the space between builds open for more viewing angles too! :)
When I first saw you use color gradients as shadows I was like "finally someone is not doing the randomization of colors". I'm aware that random block placement is not done by everyone. But I really like it that you bring this style to the mainstream.
Normally I would be concerned with placing modernish buildings into a Fantasy/Medieval setting, but I trust Bdubs to make it blend beautifully. (Also, Fantasy/Medieval and the Victorian Era fit together strangely well)
I've been learning so much from this series -- it genuinely feels like being in a college art class with a skilled, passionate master teacher. Your energy and love for your craft are so inspiring, and it's so fun to be able to experiment and learn and explore alongside you.
Minecraft is all about building. it is a game where you happen to make farms to make more building as you go on. In short: All is to make you build more.
You inspire, hang on let me do the math here... (Me being terrible at math) *5 years later* All my builds! And man, the new "era of texture" has made inspiration kick me in the behind all the way to the moon! So I did some research, and if you search up "Baltic Flour Mill" that is what i'm going to build next! Thank you so much Bdubs and I love watching your videos, I will make sure to watch BWBDO s3 till the very end!
I can't get over how talented you are with the unique build styles and meshing colors and textures that I never would have thought about. Your creativity and ability is super inspiring and motivating
One possible thing you could do with the cranes in the back of the farm is having one with cobblestone going up, and one with moss going down to "emulate" how the moss farm works.
I really like the perspective of your builds. I think the reason why I've continued watching these over the years of growing up is because they are somewhat personal and I get to have a glimpse into the mind of my favorite childhood your tuber. Keep exploring your abilities because I love it.
I've been a big fan of bdubs for years now, but I've recently started my own minecraft build tutorial series and knowing more about how much work bdubs must put in behind the scenes to make his videos so entertaining and fun makes this series so much more impressive! On top of that, somehow after watching countless series I'm still learning new things from him in every episode... he truly is the king :D
I love your industrial era builds! This is what I’ve been trying to achieve without really having a label for it and ‘industrial era’ is exactly it! So glad I can draw inspiration from your work for my own industrial builds now ❤❤❤
4:04 I love the contrast from watching you build the castle back in the 1.7 days with like.. five exterior layers of blocks. It worked tho that place was insanely well built
Been struggling for inspiration of late but this series is very inspiring. I love the way Bdubs uses blocks like brush strokes. Some long strokes, some splotchy, its a new level of Minecraft art.
The focus on values as a tool for using very different blocks together is so cool and looks amazing on this generally box shaped build. I also like how you do a similar thing with color on the glass- super excited to see more in the future
Love this old industrial brick style. You've made some interesting ones in Hermitcraft and I am looking forward to watching how you develop this look with the Bdubs touch!
Your building on the little industrial city with Scar in season 7 Hermitcraft was some of the most visually appealing minecraft i've ever seen so i'm definitely excited to see you explore that sort of style further.
I used this shading building style a few months ago then you started using it more. (It was mostly with windows then i tried under windows and rooves) Great to see more people using it!
It's cool to see the ideas you were playing with in your last livestream used in your new build, Bdubs! It looks amazing, and I appreciate you showing your build palette alongside it. I think it would be neat to see maybe a catwalk you get to from that side balcony or something - some way to watch the farm working from the top
12:38 I completely agree that when editing you can tell if your own voice is different (even if you just went to grab a snack) BUT as a viewer we can't tell! Unless you suddenly have a cold, it's very difficult for us to tell the difference in your voice between cuts.
The Moss building is terrific. I really like the direction your taking. It's very cool to see progression in different era builds like it would be in real life.
I love the redpunk idea and aesthetic. your city block in Aqua Town during Hermitcraft s7 was one of my favourite things you ever built and I can see some similarities with this style. very excited for the future
This little line "Don't do it" cracks me up every time! I also really like the series. It is really enjoyable to watch and just to see the process. Thank you Bdubs
The care put into every building is so crucial to the atmosphere of the world! I see lots of TH-camrs spam buildings to fill an area but the idea of taking your time and not rushing anything is so much better for the overall world building. Great video and build
I saw a comment in the mountain terrain building that when you build it just pops up , no progress on camera show , and I agree with that , I like how you learn from your viewers as we learn from you too , cuz that timelapse/montage building the industrial build is amazing
I cannot believe this content is free. The production quality and entertainment value is so high!! The "timelapse" of the other 3 sides of the building was such a delightful few seconds and it just MADE the video for me! 😁
Those large industrial chimneys were usually next to the factory instead of on top of it. Doing that might also help make the building feel less square! Love th3 build as usual, Bdubs!
I love the feeling of positive envy I get watching your videos lol. Minecraft building only gets dull for me when it's been a bit since you uploaded. Every time it's like "I have to try that!" I end up falling short of what i wanted but it's so much fun. :D
Also while I don't notice a difference in your voice, I definitely know the feeling and notice a difference in my own when recording at different times. I also have a different voice when I'm working with others versus by myself (which is annoying to edit!!)
really loving the new style exploration. it's so cool to see what minecraft is capable of when you think outside the box! also echoing the elated "ETHO'S BACK!" because he's one of my favorites alongside you. I hope we see some collaboration or shenanigans once he's back on Hermitcraft!
Very nice and thank you for spending time to teach us. I don't mind being a student and didn't question your work but see what your talking about depth even on that house when you walked away you could see the contrast on the roof without an over hang.
Every time I load in a video to see Bdubs carrying a bed now, I want to suggest getting a time-adjusting mod. I finally got one, Hourglass, and set my daytime to be twice as long, keeping night time the same length as normal. It's such a relief to have more time before I go "I GOTTA SLEEP" again each day, but not so boring as having a sky that never changes or night being inaccessible. It's great!
I enjoy watching you just chatting and running from one place to another, I believe that most of us don't come only for the Building but to "hang out"... wherever you want to take your series, we'll be here :)
I love the texturing. I am still the Padawan learner, but I have a funny story. I was laughing when you said nobody has 3ft overhangs. I have lived in Southern Nevada for 60yrs. And most houses, especially ones over 20yrs old, have large soffits. Some as much as 2 1/2ft. Mainly to keep the sun off your windows. Helping with keeping the house cool.😁😁😁😁💕💕👍👍
It just amazes me how you can use any block in the game and make it look good in a build, in hermitcraft diorite and now dirt. Also really nice editing and recording skills. Keep up the nice work!!
This is beautiful! I ve been trying to do an industrial age thing for a while and it just comes out... red brick/granite/andersite/diorite. This is great ! That dirty, overgrown, industrial building. Iove it !
the texture and design looks more post apocalyptic rustic ovegrown vibe than industrial. i love it. and you can now explain that those medieval themed house were the constructs of civilization regrowing, back to the medieval architech and industrial buildings were finally running after unused for years
The moss building looks like it would be super at home back in my hometown. There are lots of industrial brick-ish buildings that are now more run down and sorta boarded up, part of the rust belt and all that. But yea gave me huge hometown vibes and I love how it turned out. the thumbnail is amazing.
Bdubs mentioning the minifarm and then _immediately_ going "ETHO'S BACK!!" was really wholesome haha
My two favorite Minecraft channels:
1. Ethoslab
2. Ethosfan (BdoubleO100)
for real, I watched it back 5 times
I just smiled so big when he said that.
The best part is that this was exactly my reaction
the bdubs and etho dynamic is truly my favorite
Etho's back !!!! I love that Bdubs is so excited that he yells like a panicked teenager when the garage door opens....omgz dad is home, hide the mess!

“Ethos back!”
Hes making dirt look good as a wall block
It just amazes me how you can use any block in the game and make it look good in a build, in hermitcraft diorite and now dirt.
Also really nice editing and recording skills. Keep up the nice work!!
This is beautiful! I ve been trying to do an industrial age thing for a while and it just comes out... red brick/granite/andersite/diorite. This is great ! That dirty, overgrown, industrial building. Iove it !
This building is one of my favourites you’ve ever done! It’s amazing!
the texture and design looks more post apocalyptic rustic ovegrown vibe than industrial. i love it. and you can now explain that those medieval themed house were the constructs of civilization regrowing, back to the medieval architech and industrial buildings were finally running after unused for years
20:34 Oh yeahhhh. Absolutely breath-taking. Very atmospheric much skill
I really like the 'greeble' you have in this build. The little iron bars/lever situation on the left side is rad.
The moss building looks like it would be super at home back in my hometown. There are lots of industrial brick-ish buildings that are now more run down and sorta boarded up, part of the rust belt and all that. But yea gave me huge hometown vibes and I love how it turned out. the thumbnail is amazing.
Just wanna say I love this series, every episode is like a day highlight for me.
