Marie-Anne, you are a Godsend! Another whack of pounds has come off, and all my new jeans are just a bit loose. I have made up. my mind not to spend any more than I have to until I settle down. With that in mind, I lucked into a black Chanel-style light jacket on Amazon (yes!). And I decided that I can now safely wear a striped sailor-type shirt in black and white. So that will have to get me through the winter. I have three occasions to get through in November--fortunately all fairly casual. First is my birthday which will be celebrated with children and grandchildren. Second is the family Thanksgiving (U.S. Thanksgiving), always celebrated in the afternoon. And third is a party given in honor of some people I don't know well who will be visiting from South America. You've given me a fund of ideas for my re-emergence! Thank you so, so much. I was so happy to see that you wore your jacket with a striped t-shirt, as I wasn't very sure of that. Mine has a boat neck. Looking forward to a stylish French chic November.
That black dress is so elegant, chic and classy - I love it! Your jacket is so versatile. I love it with the cuffs rolled up over the striped top. Perfect casual chic. I just bought my first ever tweed blazer (dark blue because I don’t suit black, and nipped in at the waist) and I am loving the different looks I can create with it. Today I followed your suggestion from your layering for winter video and wore it under my winter coat - I was the most toasty and comfortable I think I have ever been in cold, wet stormy weather! I would never have worn the two together without your suggestion, because I would be afraid of appearing too bulky, but actually they fitted nicely together. So thank you! You made my day much warmer!
A nice jacket or blazer is a perfect investment piece as it is so versatile. I love the fact that the same jacket can be dressed up or down. The black can be styled with many colors and really extends a wardrobe. I love the looks with a print and with colors. The scarf is the perfect touch.
I have many classic style jackets and blazers that I have purchased through the years. I always feel more polished and put together with a blazer added. It always helps with air conditioning in restaurants.
I can see that you have chosen your pieces carefully. It shows in the many outfits that you can make with those pieces. Loved them all and they give me ideas for my Chanel style jacket. Enjoyed seeing the different scarves and shoes that you added to each ensemble. I enjoyed this very much. Thank you for your ideas.
Oh Marie-Anne you are truly spoiling us! Really love this video. Great to see such a timeless, classic jacket dressed up and down, and showing how versatile a great fitting piece can be. My absolute favourite look is 13, but I love 7, 9, and 10 very much too. Congratulations on still fitting into a jacket you have owned for 20 years, no doubt this is a testament to the French way of eating!!!! ❤️😘❤️
I especially love the casual very rugged outfits since I live in very rugged cowboy country with freezing winters. I love the jacket. It's so perfect fot giving that edge to casual that takeds it up a notch.
So many options, so many choices. Simply adorable Marie-Anne! That’s the magic of knowing how to combine your wardrobe. And nothing can beat the perfect Chanel style black jacket. I have a black one of course and actually last Tuesday I was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, black skinny jeans and my black jacket paired with black moccasins. Later on I went to the mall and all I did was change the black jacket for an ivory one and then wore my ivory sneakers. A totally different style with just a change of two pieces and so on. Add one scarf and you can rock the mall! Now you got me thinking about a black stripes breton shirt!🤣 I couldn’t choose any of your looks as my favorite because all of them are so different and chic that I have to say, all of them! Fantastic video, thank you! Totally in love with that jacket! I have been a fan of the classic Chanel black jacket for ages, but haven't found anything affordable that comes close, so thank you for the links! I love it that you have managed to take care of it and keep it for 20 years. Buy right and it will stay right xx This is a really inspirational style video.

Marie-Anne, Loved, loved, loved this video. I appreciate how many different ways a beautiful wardrobe works together. Loved the bloopers too! Lol. Thanks again , Linda
Loved all the looks. Of course I feel the jacket said it all...the versatility of mixing classic pieces ie. The leather look slim pants, jeans, skirts and tops. A very easy wardrobe put to get her for even a trip to a Paris or New York. Excellent!
All lovely outfits. I like the white trousers with the black and white stripey top - very French, all it needed was a beret to top it off to complete the French stereotype look! Your black dress is lovely too, it makes you look even slimmer. Today I was wearing black trousers with a white shirt and black and white stripey jumper on top. The jumper has a thin mustard stripe on the cuffs which I love - it's that little detail that makes it different. No jacket, just my black wool double breasted coat. I'm learning from your videos! 😘
Marie-Anne, all of the combos are lovely, but my favourites are the tone on tone black outfits. I love the use of different textures like your boucle jacket, silk and satin. I have a simple black Club Monaco blazer, but your Chanel-like jacket has more texture and interest. Maybe one day I will find something similar!
Hello Marie-Anne everything is lovely . My favorites are the outfits with the scarves . Scarves are one of my favorite accessories and I adore polka dots . enjoy your weekend !
I love the looks you featured! They are very stylish and sophisticated I just bought 2 tweed jackets and you have shown me how to style them thank you so much for the video!
I love your bloopers. You’re so darn cute with face you make and then you top it off with a wonderful laugh. And, Marie-Anne, I loved all the outfits … your fabulous.
A woman could own these few pieces in her wardrobe and look good anywhere, any time. Thank you for your ideas. I travelled for two weeks with four scarves and a black top and a white top and looked more "put together" than anyone I saw.
I style myself with a 60's era Chanel type jacket in black with the four pockets. It was a fun sewing project and I enjoyed doing black velvet trim to contrast the black boucle.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur no it isn't. I drafted the pattern myself after studying several photographs. I have a body that is hard to fit with most tops and jackets, so I started sewing my own.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I think that you will have fun with the Claire Shaeffer pattern. It's always fun to dedicate a week or two to a project. A set amount of time each day and to lose yourself in a sewing weekend. I find it very relaxing as the hotel buisiness can be difficult...
Very inspirational ! I have most of these pieces as I imagine many of us do . Jeans and black turtlenecks are my favourite uniform but for some reason my Chanel style jackets don't come out very often - I have a wine coloured version also . Thank you for reminding me to wear these jackets more !
Well done, as always. My favourite was the all white with black jacket. I think it’s because the added volume on the bottom balances out the black jacket perfectly with your body shape. Thank you for inspiring me to be a little more mindful when putting separates together.
Number 9 is my favourite, with the satin skirt and patterned blouse (love the pretty neckline). I also like the jacket with the striped shirt, with the leather trousers, or with jeans. I do love a mix of textures and styles. The nearest I have to your jacket is a plain navy blazer, which I wore today with a dark royal blue, corduroy skirt and navy tights and boots, and a plain green t shirt. I do feel the need for a few patterned blouses, shirts and tops as mine are mostly plain. I tend to favour my four biker jackets, so that blazer needs a bit more of a chance to shine; it might be ordinary (apart from the variety of different navy buttons I sewed on) but that’s what makes it so versatile. Thank you for the ideas! ❤️👌
Love the versatility of the jacket. A good investment piece. Thank you for showing me how to dress up and down with a few simple pieces. I particularly loved the outfits with the turtle neck jacket, so chic!
Ahhhh Marie-Anne i love this video. My favourite here is the snake print shoes!!!!! Also the black block color outfits. Actually everything was fantastic. It's difficult to choose a favourite look. I have definitely picked up many ideas for my own wardrobe Thankyou so much and have a wonderful week. Cheers Bev.
Great video, all the outfits look really good. I can't choose a favourite, I loved them all. I make almost all of my clothes, the black dress is something I will make this weekend. I'm tempted to have a go at the jacket. I currently have a beautiful black blazer but I love the softer look of the tweed and fringing on your jacket. I watch all your videos and copy so many of your ensembles. Thank you for inspiring all of us ladies to be chic and stylish.
I have a couple of Vogue patterns, both have the more familiar round neck which I love. Your black jacket has lapels and v neck, I've never seen one that style with the fringe edging. It's given me food for thought.
I loved all of the outfits, they were all very chic!! fantastic Marie-Anne! I love the houndstooth pattern skirt outfit the most so beautiful! I own a black Chanel jacket that ties in the front. I purchased it at a consignment shop for $100 USD. the funny thing is it's the most versatile piece in my wardrobe.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I spent all day trying on my existing clothes and chose what would mix and match. Great topic! I love the Chanel Jacket. Yes it is soooo versatile! All the outfits were appealing. My favorites were #s 11, 13, 14, 15. The print skirt in #11 is so beautiful. It's one of my favorites of your clothing.:)
It's always a joy watching your channel...I like all of the combinations..so stylish and chic. Thanks for sharing. I always learn something new. By the way, I like the shoes too.
Very elegant and chic, how I wish pumps were still in my life! I really liked you in the patterned blouse, it just animated the whole look. I would wear neutral sneakers, low-heeled ankle boots or maybe a knee boot. Thanks for the inspiration! 😘
Its amazing that I recently discovered your videos and I immediately check my closet and i have many classics that I style after watching you. Thank you. Have 4 la marine t shirts 🤦🏾♀️
Marie-Anne Lecoeur After a change in lifestyle I’ve gone down a few dress sizes such that my style has shifted from generously cut garments to more tailored. I’ve always preferred the latter and am so happy to have discovered your channel! 🙏
Love all these looks. The Chanel look alike black jacket I have recently bought has large gilt buttons on and it makes it look rather formal. May remove them. Not sure yet
Etc., etc., etc.! A fan of "The King & I"!? Loved it! Both you & the musical! 😁 My favorite outfit was the jacket with white & black plaid skirt & sweater. With the jkt, black sweater &leather look jeans a close second, then with blue jeans tgird. For elegance the satin skirt, black silk top, skirt with black heels. I might add a long gold necklace & black hose (maybe with a pattern on the sides of the legs). And earrings! Not studs (medical reason). Very simple on a wire. Loved this video! Took screenshots of every outfit! I can see how these would make travel simple yet dressy &, elegant when needed... ALWAYS looking CHIC! Please do more of these "10 or 15 outfits" videos! Oh how I wish I had your figure...unfortunately I am a size 16 UK ...I’d love a chanel jacket, but they are so so petite in size...I think your videos are truly joyful...I will never stop watching and admiring your lovely ideas ....best wishes from across the Channel
Hello from across the pond, Janet! My "Chanel" jacket is a lovely fake I happened upon it many years ago from Target. It really is quite nicely made, I've taken care of it, and I just wore it the other day. Always get compliments .In other words, you don't need the Chanel to look Chanel. OK right, I am a skinny old thing, always have been, and that's been a thing too. WHO CARES the measurements?! Darlin' , you are lovely. You absolutely must find your "Chanel" jacket. You deserve this. XOXO
Janet, Please keep looking. With a careful eye you can find chanel style in larger sizes. In the US we call it Plus size. I am 46" in the bust, and have found chanel style 2 to 3 sizes larger than you are. I don't know what high end stores you might find it in the UK. In the US, I'd look at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus for a higher end piece which cost hundreds, not thousands of $$$$. But even LL Bean, a good quality outdoor catalog, offered a chanel style jacket in a smooth soft fleece (in Dec) - white trimmed in navy. I bought it & love it! It elevates my dark blue jeans to a dressier casual chic, depending on top, shoes & other accessories! Now I'm watching for a higher end piece that elevates both dressy & casual as Marie-Anne's does. Even on Amazon I've even seen a piece with fringe, though I didn't care for the colors offered. Good luck in your search! Be persistent! 😊😊
Thank you for this very helpful video . Love the concept of shopping your wardrobe. Liked the jeans and roll neck black sweater the best . Can’t get away with skinny jeans I am afraid . I do prefer a more tailored look .
this is what I always liked a very classic or classy style that does not say too much and can be worn many years down the road, I like to say that Marie-Anne Lecoeur the black outfit was very fitting and matched well, I do mean that I have seen people wear all black and yet they are off somehow, like 1 black item that has more of a blackish-blue and others are more a blackish-brown yet they look more black on their own if worn with others colors, here in America the styles or current trends are to through odd colors together for the women at times and yet the men tend to stick to a simpler pallet no matter the decade. I actually have designed a few things ( I crochet and learning to knit) and I typically use a neutral color with a more brighter (flower) color so I would use offwhite with teal or grey with peach so to find something to go with it would not be a huge task at hand. this is the same thing you implied with your chic inspiration you have shown
I tend to like your more casual outfits, and especially like the leather-look black pants. Recently purchased a pair and have gotten so many compliments -- instant chic! Love the Chanel jacket but need a longer jacket to balance my shape. Like to see more accessories for the total look -- I am always unsure how much is too much 😳.
Loved all the looks, some great ideas we can all replicate. I would love your ideas for different body types, as you would look great in anything! 😊 off to find a flattering jacket now. Thank you for your inspiration 😍
Hi Marie-Ann, I loved Outfit 13, that is so me. I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to wear leatherette trousers but good quality black trousers a definite yes. Sadly I cannot find a pair of blue jeans that do not leave the dye on upholstery, so I have transferred to white jeans which I love. I really appreciate all of the great advice you give and the plethora of ideas. Thank you so very much.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur , Oddly I have only found one brand that actually both suits me and fits. I have a long body but short inside leg, and that is Marks & Spencer’s jeans. I thought that after a few washes the dye would fix or stop running but it doesn’t. In my youth, I used to wear Levi or Gloria Vanderbilt mainly with no problem, but I find it impossible to find the right length. I love the look of NYDJ but I think my husband would have a fit if I bought a pair at that cost now we are pensioners. 😀
Just beautiful! I would be really in trouble to choose one outfit! I like all of those. The dressy ones for formal occasion and the dressed down for daytime. I haven't such a nice jacket, but I am going to shop in my wardrobe to find ideas. Thank you and bisous👠

Great topic! I love the Chanel Jacket. Yes it is soooo versatile! All the outfits were appealing. My favorites were #s 11, 13, 14, 15. The print skirt in #11 is so beautiful. It's one of my favorites of your clothing.:)
You look amazing in everything! How do you keep in such phenomenal shape?
Hi Marie-Anne. Can you please tell us about your exercise routine?
I am very glad that you pointed out that the jacket is Chanel-STYLE, because I remember your video "French Women Don't Wear Designers"
Thanks for so many great ideas!! Always look forward to your new videos 😀
Thank you for inspiring me. I love all the outfits.
It's always a joy watching your channel...I like all of the combinations..so stylish and chic. Thanks for sharing. I always learn something new. By the way, I like the shoes too.
Wow! Great videos
Very elegant and chic, how I wish pumps were still in my life! I really liked you in the patterned blouse, it just animated the whole look. I would wear neutral sneakers, low-heeled ankle boots or maybe a knee boot. Thanks for the inspiration! 😘
Love all the trouser outfits can't wait to wear them have all the pieces
Whatever you spent on that jacket is money well spent. It is indeed very versatile.
Its amazing that I recently discovered your videos and I immediately check my closet and i have many classics that I style after watching you. Thank you. Have 4 la marine t shirts 🤦🏾♀️
The black dress gets my vote. Now I see I definitely need one. This was great Marie-Anne, thank you! The timing perfect for my wardrobe makeover.
Wonderful lookbook ideas! Merci, Marie-Anne❣❤❤💞💞 BTW, 67°F=19.4°C here in Texas yesterday to 35°F=1.66°C with strong North winds today! 🥴 ❤
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Great! That would be very helpful! 👍 Would love to see a series of your "lookbook" ideas! Yes! I can't get Yul Brenner out of my mind either! "Shall we dance?" 😊🤣❤❤
@@MarieAnneLecoeur 👍💃😁
Hello Marie-Anne. My favorite outfits were 11, 13 and 14 ❤. That Soleil skirt and the black dress are superb! And of course the leather pants and the cashmere polo neck 👍. And most importantly your slim figure and fresh attitude 😍😍😍!
my favorite is the classical black and white shirt with boots....
I would wear with my leather sneakers and a cross body bag for dashing to the shops or the library. I appreciate your tips and tricks🐨🦘🇦🇺 you look fabulous in outfit #12
Oh how I wish I had your figure...unfortunately I am a size 16 UK ...I’d love a chanel jacket, but they are so so petite in size...I think your videos are truly joyful...I will never stop watching and admiring your lovely ideas ....best wishes from across the Channel
Bonjour Marie -Anne...thank you so much for this information, I will let you know what I buy...thank you again 🥂❤️
XOXO
Rona ...what lovely words....thank you...I will be searching for my jacket .....some love
People in The world! 🥰
I love the striped top, printed blouse but the jacket is beautiful. I’m sewing up one atm. Is that a leather trim on the jacket
Wow! All great outfits! Thank you for the inspiration!
Very winter pallete colours. Any soft summer?
Just beautiful! I would be really in trouble to choose one outfit! I like all of those. The dressy ones for formal occasion and the dressed down for daytime. I haven't such a nice jacket, but I am going to shop in my wardrobe to find ideas. Thank you and bisous👠
