Just ordered this part from your website after seeing this video and I believe I can do it myself. Let’s pray my car makes it out of surgery okay. BTW I’m a female! 😁
thanks for this video just bought a 99 camry and the air intake hose is completely rotted out. its got 240,000 miles but still runs like a champ, will run even better once i install new air intake hose!
Your videos are amazing. And very instructive. I note that the accelerator cable goes under the hose, not above. I have the same model (even the same color!) and I had this dilemma. Attached to the air filter there is a spring and a clamp, the spring holds one of the accelerator cables and the clamp hols the oder. The way the clamp hold the cable indicates that this cable.goes under the hose. Anyway you have to see the video and that's the correct way. I'm very grateful because I can fix my Camry seeing your videos. Unfortunately I can't legally buy car parts due to a customs regulation that I expect change in the near future. Thanx from Argentina
Definitely recommend spraying some carb cleaner on the IAC valve while you have the intake tube out anyway! Thanks for a great how-to video this was really helpful!
Are these exactly as perfect as OEM Toyota in terms of allowing zero vacuum leaks? I bought an aftermarket air duct hose online and my check engine light came on after it was installed. Note that the engine light was off with a duct taped original hose for about a year. I'm just wondering if the fit is identical between OEM and aftermarket. Great video by the way!

Where does the bottom hose go to? What is that housing called? I used penetrating oil on that pin, but it cracked off and left a small hole in the housing.
@@BrutolMotent I never found a replacement housing. I've just been running it with the hole covered with duct tape. Probably not the best solution but seems fine for now...
@@andrewohanian5132 It looks like it connects to a vacuum valve that is part of the emissions control system, could cause a check engine light if it was damaged. I'd recommend going to a junkyard to find a replacement part, since it's basically just an empty plastic box a used one should be fine. For a new one you'd probably have to go to a dealer and pay through the nose.
+Dawson Finger At this moment, the closest how-to video we have to your request is for this vehicle, which is very similar to the one you have. The steps may not be 100% the same, but should contain an adequate amount of information necessary for accomplishing this task.
Weird thing is the date on my car door says 12/99. A 1999 Camry Air Intake Hose does not work on my car. The mid hose connection ( on the bottom) is further over toward the motor. Looks like it needs a 2001 hose based on images I have looked at. Thoughts?
That particular design of hose clamp has a habit of rusting and being impossible to loosen, my advice is to cut it and replace it with a regular hose clamp from the hardware store.

if the pin breaks, is it fine without the pin? What kind of penetrating oil was used in 1:35?
i got to the pin on the bottom. thought i needed a special tool . THANK-YOU
Thank you for another awesome video. I just purchased this for my 1998 Camry and will be replacing this next week.

Don't be fooled, these hose openings do not want to budge at all and pulling them off can potential break the air flow resonator if still connected.
Wow. The stupid mechanics were going to charge me $200 to fix this!
Where does the inlet at the bottom of the intake go to ? I punctured the hose on mine. my car is a 2000 camry 4 cyl.
Did you ever find the answer?
How much for this part? I have a 99 Camry XLE
The Gee-tah Guy I got mine for 22-25$ range 1998 LE

I broke the breather and the pin at 1:34 😩😩 I hope y’all got it in stock
It looks like I could use a screwdriver to take those clamps off. That would work, yes?
Yes you could.
Yes, a Phillips Head will work
The bottom part is the hardest to re-install. I really don't understand why Toyota chose to design something so difficult.

Do I need to put my air intake in the stud? I broke mines off taking the old one off

The pin broke off on mine as well while trying to remove the hose.

What are the clamps called?
What is the size of the pcv hose
Where is the Mass Airflow sensor? I can't find it and there are no videos or diagrams that shows it

I believe on this car it's actually in the top half of the air filter box.

you might have the V6 model
Can I use a screwdriver to get those screws off?
+Suicide Thoughts Thanks for watching! Yes you can use either a screw driver or an appropriate sized socket to remove those clamps. 1aauto.com
1A Auto Parts I’m using 10 mm & extension I sprayed the oil penetrator & I can’t get it to Unloosen help!??
Your competition has this exact hose for cheaper price (1997 Toyota Camry). Why are you guys upcharigng the cost?
