      @@JordanU Would have purchased even the smaller one for 1 person but no veggie steamer. You were right about the power cord being very short. Measure first. Love this unit. Price has increased to over $25. Still worth it.

    Black and Decker still makes a few appliances based on the old GE designs they got in the 80s buyout of their small appliance division.
    Namely the Classic Steam Iron and the 3 in 1 griddle/waffle baker.

    Glad I watched this all the way to the end. The bag of rice I bought said not to rinse the rice. I got the same starch splatter coming out. Will rinse well like you did going forward. 👍

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never had the splatter again after rinsing.

      But you lose all the nutrients by rinsing. I don’t mind u need to clean anyway

    Great for soups, reheating left overs instead of the microwave. Make small batches of spaghetti sauce, curry. Make ramen and veg.

    Black and decker makes some decent stuff. You should make a video on your diet and thoughts on eating out. The cooking videos I’ve enjoyed!

    I love the Black Plus Decker! That's a great machine there, especially for the price. How long would you say that it took to make a serving a rice?

    When you get the rice and water in the cooker add a thin slice of butter or a little cooking oil and leave the lid cracked a small bit' a little less than a quarter,it should solve the boil over problem. I know it did with mine. And also you need a loud timer,need to time the cooking.🙂

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rinsing the rice prior to cooking to get the starch off solved the problem for me. There's no need to time anything, this is an automatic machine. It stops cooking by itself when the rice is done.

    Rinse your rice before you cook. That will take care of the starchy mess.

    I think that's pretty much all white rice. You have to rinse it to get that crap off it or it does that.
    I can't eat rice anymore. I have diabetes now. Funny story. I started eating a lot more rice just before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was loving the rice but wondering why I always felt so tired after eating it.
    The steamer basket that comes with it is also great for making boiled eggs. Well, they're not boiled (obviously) but the steam cooks them the same way water boils them and it works fast (about 15 minutes). If you like boiled eggs, try it.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rice is certainly something that should be consumed in smaller quantities. I would steam more vegetables than anything else, but I do make boiled eggs on occasion.
