    Not many Chicagoans will refer buildings by the new names!
    Like many others, it will always be Sears Tower and John Hancock Center.
    In our culture, when something is known for a long time and names change. We stick to it because it’s what we think is familiar.

    What do you think about the chicagoan skyscrapers?

      I really like most of them. I cannot decide between the chicago board of trade building and the willis tower. I think those black skyscrapers are quite impressive and makes the skylines more interesting

    Too bad the Chicago Spire was canceled

      yeah it would have make such a change in the skyline of chicago

    • @Minelaughter

      I’m glad it was cancelled. It would’ve ruined the skyline

    • @Minelaughter
      @Minelaughter 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also it was placed in the worst location possible. Almost no transit and next to a multi-level highway

    • @AnixCo1990
      @AnixCo1990 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Minelaughter that’s what many said about the John Hancock before it was built. It doesn’t fit with the rest of the skyline and ruins it. They say this over and over again even with iconic structures like the Eiffel Tower. Calling it a black chimney rising in the center of Paris.

      @@AnixCo1990 no but it actually would look trash. You wouldn’t be able to see it from the southwest side of the city and it’s located between a dirty river, multi level highway that has no sidewalk connections, and located north of the river where there are multi-level streets then lead to nowhere.

    I never understand why buildings like Trump International Hotel stop 50 feet short of being the tallest....just do it and go all the way!

      Trump tower is only 1,171 ft by roof height but is gets to 1,388 ft with it's spire. Regis is actually taller at 1,198 by roof height
