    I'm s diesel mechanic myself, I've been only doing it for 2 years and at the moment it's just me and my boss at my job. The only thing we don't do is internal. The most we do for internal is the thermostat, injectors ect.easy stuff. I have learned alot with my current job

    What would you say are specialty tools you absolutely need? Things you can get away without having?

    • @bstceltics4
      @bstceltics4 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on what you do on a daily basis. For me some must have specialty tools would be the bearing puller kit from Matco, I use it to pull the face plates off Blackmer pumps to rebuild them. An actual input shaft from a transmission instead of using the plastic one for doing heavy duty clutch installations, along with long guide bolts. I usually make my own for guiding in pump faces, rears, transmissions, clutches, flywheel, shifters, and just about anything that you would work on, having guide studs helps tremendously. Another must have, is a mighty magnet with the dial indicator for doing hubs and hub seals, and a flexible dial indicator with a magnet for checking PTO lash. Checking the final end play on bearings for hubs is very important and the mighty magnet is a very good tool for that.

    Your KLR1023 is my dream. You keep it such good condition. Unfortunately for me, Snap-On seem to no longer make this box (they seem to one by one abandon the entire KRL series) and they have moved on to the newer style, which I prefer far less. I wish I traded in my KRL722 for this when I was offered it for a too good to be true deal by my dealer. That was my chance. But I did not have the money.

    • @MeanBee392
      @MeanBee392  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you I try my best to keep it as clean as possible. I think they do still offer this box but they really are starting to focus on their epic line up. I will have another video on my box adding on to it soon if you are interested. That's a bummer but I know what you mean by not having to one to jump on a good deal like that. I have also has to pass up some smokin deals because I didn't have the money. Thanks for stopping in watching and commenting!

    I make tool boxes. I can fill them with less cost than Straps empty. Better for the tools. No change due to temp-humidity. Think machinist turn industrial mechanic. Working on a triangulated Montezuma type, in Mahogany, as I peck. $150 in wood and a week in shop time.

      Thanks! That’s cool we have been doing it almost the same amount of time. That’s awesome that you got training through the Army and thank you for your service! Nice, that’s really cool that you have your own company and I have always wished I had my own company. I haven’t tried the newest Snap On cordless 1/2 “Milwaukee killer” yet. But compared to the Snap On 1/2 that I have and showed my Milwaukee is more powerful but I do like the ergonomics of the Snap On better. Thanks for stopping in watching and commenting!

      @@MeanBee392 When it comes to battery impact wrenches it's hard to beat the Milwaukee 2767. The older rigid high torque comes close with 1500 ft-lbs of break away torque which is what I have currently.

    • @MeanBee392

      Yes they are! My tools and box are a huge investment so I clean them after ever job. I can't stand having nasty dirty hands. Over the years I have learned that you can tell a lot by a mechanic's hands, the dirtier they are it seams the less they know and they are just trying to show that they are a "mechanic" just from my experience.
