    I was in the same boat as you. Ended up selling or giving away all of my Matco and Mac tools and finished up my Snap On sets about 10 years ago. Only tools I roll with now are Milwaukee for all electric tools and Snap On for everything else. At least I can count on Snap On for tool reliability and warranty support. Great video brother! 👍🏻

    Could ship the drivers to Matco directly. Then sell the new ones on EBay. Be sure to tell them about your experience with the driver.

    Dude, You have a really nice collection of Snap on! I'm a master Electrician by trade but love to turn wrenches when I can. About 2 years ago I started buying two socket sets a pay period, Some times three. I now have all deep mid, shallow, from 1/2 to 1/4 mostly impact. But some chrome. Both my boxes are full of Snap on goodness. Great video man. Thank you..

    WOW, you have a large inventory of top quality tools. Your narrative of each drawer is impressive, sorta like a librarian describing the tools and accessories.
    I have been on Snap On tool trucks that don't have 1/2 your inventory.
    Very cool you have a plan for the older stuff and the future arrivals.
    2 thumbs up from here brother, quality doesn't cost, it pays IMHO ....
    Talk again soon !!

    • @j.c.smithprojects
      @j.c.smithprojects  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are right...you only cry when you buy....after that you smile like a kid in a candy store! it takes a ridiculous amount of tools to work on trucks these days. the number of "specialty tools" you need is crazy! there are some tools that i really need to buy and others that i want to buy....same old story isnt it??? wants and needs....

  • @brianrodemeier5786
    @brianrodemeier5786 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I try to repurpose some old out dated tools. Like the tensioner tool for the ford tempo. Cut,weld,grind, old non use tools. To work for modern vehicles.

    Awesome sir! You have some stuff!! I bought the same cart but flip lid in flat black about 2 years back. I got it for 1k, I found that to be cheap because right after I bought it they immediately went up to 1800$. I traded it in on my bigger black box and he gave me 1500$ for it. As always great video sir can’t wait until the next one.

    • @j.c.smithprojects
      @j.c.smithprojects  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      when i first looked into these roll carts i thought they were around $1800. when i called and he said they are $2240....i was shocked. i looked online and sure enough that was the list price. glad to hear you made out with your bobby!

    • @robotvacuum1957
      @robotvacuum1957 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      J.C. SMITH PROJECTS I’m pretty sure the price was 1800$ but for some reason I guess it was on sale but when he said 1k I jumped on it. I figured I couldn’t go wrong, especially if the price was gonna jump back up.

    My snappy driver just left. So I broke the bank and bought a 1/2 drive metric set it's pretty nice. My best metric set was a Stanley and no 1/2 snap-on ratchets now I have two, he clams it was half price at 600. And change. Deep, shallow, 5 extensions, two a standard and long ratchet 34 PC and a flex

    If you go to Matco’s website and shoot them an email they’ll give you a shipping label and case # and they’ll swap the screwdrivers out for you no questions asked . Obviously, you shouldn’t have to do that but it’s better than having useless screwdrivers.

    It seems strange that Matco Tools doesn’t have a strong franchise dealer presence in Ohio. They are a subsidiary of Fortive which is based in Stow, Ohio.

    • @j.c.smithprojects
      @j.c.smithprojects  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there is a matco warehouse less than an hour from me but they wont do waranty replacement there....i want nothing to do with matco.....the other problem is when you do get a tool warranteed it is rarely a match to the set you have. matco is a tool "rebrander" they buy tools from other manufacturers and are labeled for matco....when they change a manufacturer of a toool...the new tool isnt always to the same spec as the previous. it is a joke..no wonder dealers bale after a short time.

    The broken cornwell,email Clay's Cornwell dealer.I have the Lisle tap socket sets in 3/8 and 1/2 drive,they have come in handy a few time.I had to warranty one of the 3/8 drive tap sockets,was not machined right.Had a round hole instead of a square to accept the tap.I was amazed Lisle did take care of it on the spot,emailed them about it and mailed me a replacement.

    Enough tools here for 2 shops...l wouldn't take the tall box home, l'd sell it (good money) so you don't have a stool/step up under foot...take one (or 2) of the smaller ones home with your Dad's tools...sure like that slide out top - never saw 1 of those...also like the 2 wrachets you pointed out & those drop down offset box end wrenches (only saw 2)...first person l ever saw that had more hammers than me

    • @j.c.smithprojects
      @j.c.smithprojects  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i wont sell that box...i will put my older snap on and the tools my dad gave me in it and keep in in the home garage. i didnt know how i would like that slide top but i think it will work out good. i will split up those hammers and all the other "doubles" and set up the home box pretty nicely.

    Well JC I feel for you it's tough when your one of those there is a home for everything kinda guys who likes to keep organized and knows where he has something so he can go and get it without having to search thru every drawer and tool box he has cause I;m sure we all went thru that once or twice...lol
    I dont know if this is still available but thought I would mention it, I am sure you know who Diesel Tech Ron is but his family was selling his big monster green Snap On toolbox ( you may have seen it in his videos ) for 15k Whether it sold or not I am not sure but this is the box and his wife post below in the video about it
    th-cam.com/video/krkeou-tSxw/w-d-xo.html
    Not sure if you looking for something like that , but might be worth a look see. I see your having issue with having boxes all over, so if you want you can store some of them in my garage, I will even give you a key so you can get into to the garage to get what you need from your tool boxes when you need to, sure it might take a few hundred dollars in gas and a few days to get here, but you know they will be safe with me.
    Sucks about the dealers from Matco not looking after you, as for the one that told you well what are you going to buy from me? Not the best way to win over a new customer, and if that's the attitude your going to get when you do have a problem with a tool then why on earth would you buy something from them if you have to worry about what happens to it when it fails, that's just like advertising for you to go to the competition. Strange business sense if you ask me. Well one box down, now let see you get what you need in there and put it to work.... you can work on the new duramax and show us both at the same time.

      diesel tech ron's toolbox was the first green box i saw. it was so sad that he had passed. i believe they did sell his tool box. i do like things organized and in their place....but i am also cheap. so when i find one it will have to be the right price for me to buy it.
      that makes sense...you keep some...i keep some...i could just send them all over the world so if i have trouble on a trip i would have tools to fix it. or i could just keep buying fords and i wont need them!! hahaha!!!

      the red and black craftsman box you probably have seen in videos is what i used for the longest time. it worked just fine. i am not a tool snob...i have always wanted a nice tool box and finally have got to a point where i can buy one....if the price is right! thanks for watching!
