Good news! Mankind has already domesticated cannabis. The form we use for fibers, fuel, and seed oils is typically called "hemp". We've also domesticated a form of the plant that we've cultivated to produce large, resinous, psychoactive buds which are used for medicinal and recreational purposes. That form is typically called "marijuana", although the name has pejorative roots, so advocates prefer to simply call all forms "cannabis".
For further advise put the pine pitch in one of the ceramics and put it on the fire without the flame catching the pine on fire the pine will melt turn black and be super sticky It's tar!
I hope you were making real sure that the stone was not forcing the sides of the handle apart and was only putting tension on them by contacting the top and bottom of the hole. A good, seasoned wood should be really tough to break that way, even when relatively thin. Having said that, for the love of god, pick better sticks! Those look absolutely hopeless to use. Thick, heavy and crooked, I'd have trouble getting any work done even if sharp steel was at their ends.
Honestly that's not the problem there's plenty of examples of stone axes that are held together by the head being wedged into the handle like that. It's just that she didn't grind the sides down to make it slimmer and chose a rock that was too circular. You want to start off with or shape a rock, to be oblong or teardrop shaped. That way the hole is always smaller then the edge side of the head. If you look at some examples I think it's the Chinese examples that show why I'm talking about easiest though other styles use these ideas too.

Hey Andy! If you read this, next time you have to cut down a tree, alternate sets of upward strikes and downward strike. You want to chip out wedges with the first set, then cut the wedges you chipped out off with the other set.
As has been pointed out before, the stone axe handle must be designed such that the head contacts on the top and bottom of the hole. Wood has decent tensile (pulling) strength, but splits quite easily. Compare trying to pull a stick apart vs splitting it with a wedge.
Also, chip a groove around the circumference of your stone axe, then make your handle a 'Y' shape and slot the stone into it. Then you bind the 'Y' together and it'll hold it into place. Also, you bind below the stone to keep the handle from splitting. All the haters in the comments are clueless. They are probably newbies to the channel and have zero appreciation for life itself and for the dedication and hard work andy and his crew put into this entire channel. The real OGs like mysef know better. Andy has been doing this amazing and entertaining work for many years. He started with nothing and now he's working his way to bigger and better content. To the haters, you might feel angry, but it's not because of Andy, it's because something in your life isn't right and you need to get help for whatever it is you're dealing with. I hope you get the help needed and have a happier life. To Andy and the crew, thanks for the very entertaining and funny content.
Wolrd peace
Annalise is amazing! Great addition to the team.
You need to make the copper axe a better "Edge geometry" as right now it's like just hitting the tree with a rock. Try and make it more like otzi the Iceman's axe
yeah, the way he crafted this axe, he's only cutting it with abrasive force, and that's why the stone tool was being better.
Otzi's axe was smelted and cast and ground, though, practically a modern process compared to this one. They've got tin, they might as well make bronze already if they're going to go to the trouble of melting copper to cast a better axe (and they should absolutely do both of these things).
@@PegasusEpsilon He won't even research the proper tool shapes it's ridiculous. It's like a child is recreating these objects through oral description. It wouldn't have even been difficult to Green sand cast a common wedge axe tool shape from the period.
Sean Channie Ridiculous, don’t ya think they’re starting from scratch instead of trying to teach ya how to make these shits? Do3snt even matter since we got better tools now.
@@jomuffins6551 they are trying to do it to the period, they think "progression" of technology is materials and methods, but it's also improvement to the quality of the product.
Watching the patience and motivation is really inspiring.
hey, if you ever go back to writing or art tools, I have graphite veins on my property id be willing to send you, just send me a message
You lucky bastard.
how common is graphite? when Graphene becomes a more commonly used substance you could make a fair amount of money with those veins.
@@triborda4850 graphite is pretty common, what do you think pencils are made of?
talha yaprak this is true however at this point manufacturing graphene from graphite is bit of a process
@@triborda4850 You realize that graphite is just pure carbon? Ya know, the thing in all organic materials. It's not rare in the slightest.
Anneliese is the MVP of this video series so far
Copper tend to make a very poor wood wedge because of its softness you should use some type of iron wood i prefer to use Osage orange
Even pine works, and it is a lot less labor intensive to make a pine wedge than a copper wedge.
Thanks for another great video. My dad told me that on his farm in Alberta, Canada, he and his brothers found Native American tomahawk stones. My dad told me a museum would have liked them. One of my older brothers found a Cree Native arrow head in a field on our dad's farm. It's neat how they did things long ago, with the materials they had. Cheers!
2019 : Andy starts making stone tools.
2049 : Andy's cyborg army defeats the USA, finishing the conquest of Earth.
I’ve never been happier to learn a TH-camr I love is based in Minnesota
My home state!
Bro I’m like in the middle of the state and rarely head south but if I do I will hope by just accident we bump into each other
0:55 Interesting... "tree" you found there!
The cuts on the limbs of the tree look really nice and smooth.
Hi (sorry for bad English).

This channel deserves so many more followers
Anelise : Turkeys are so dumb !
Turkey : You sure about that ?
Plot : Prehistoric girl with airpods getting outsmarted by some dumb birds.
Wooow Analice So much respect for the time and effort! I tried it once but cracked in the end!
So good to have you on the show!!!
And then the stick broke... The live of stone/copper age people.....
damn you i was JUST about to go to sleep.
Good content is always better than sleep
Becauseimparanoid same here, hahaha we have a saying here “damo tulog ko patay kana” it means “ you will have a lot of sleep when you die” ;)
Wrapping twine around the axe head and covering it in sap will make your stone axes last a lot longer. Use a harder wood for the branch/handle and make sure the axe head is tied in secure
Bro I know a guy that can break a tree just punching his name is Steve and he's from planet Minecraft
That last tree leaf looks perfect to me.
6:26 the start of animal domestication (10,000 bc)
Yay!!! Another episode!!! This series is so fun!!!
A lot of those horizontal thick branches was cut with a saw after the three had been felled. Please be more transparent when using modern tools for projects. :)
"Gently bother a flock of turkeys, but don't hurt 'em." is my new life motto.
Is th copper video banned from Algeria or what ?
Koukou Zee I can watch it from Canada soooo... maybe?
Love what you guys do. Thank you for all the hard work and especially for documenting your trials and tribulations. We love learning from your experiences!
You should travel to china to do these projects so instead of the final total being $100 minimum wage, it's 32¢ minimum wage

I admire this man's tenacity.
