    Hello Jonathan, I wanted to show you my favorite gambit. It’s for the black pieces against d4. I’ve played this about 20 times and I’ve won every game with it:
    1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 b5 4. cxb5 a6 5. bxa6 e6 6. Nc3 exd5 7. Nxd5 Be7 8. Nxe7 Qxe7 9. e3 O-O 10. Nf3 Rxa6 11. Bxa6 Bxa6
    (In my experience no player has ever resisted the urge to take the rook)
    There is one line which is supposedly advantageous for white, but after some deep engine analysis I’m convinced black is more than fine after something like this:
    12. Ng8 Qe4 13. f3 Qh4+ 14. g3 Qh5 15. Kf2 Bb7 16. h4 Ne4+ 17. Kg2 Nc6 18. g4 Qg6 19. h5 Qe6
    Anyway, I thought this was up your alley so I thought I’d toss it your way and see what you think. I’ve been a big fan of yours for a while, keep up the amazing work.

    • @ryanhanson3365
      @ryanhanson3365 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does seem like a comfortable position for black after the double Bxa6. Trade of material for development as white has two bad rooks and won't be able to castle.

    _"Stockfish Destroys Leela with STAFFORD GAMBIT"_
    Detroyed? lol No. Stockfish did not destroy Leela with the Stafford Gambit. Leela destroyed itself with 23. d5(??) which loses on the spot. It was Lc0 that literally handed the win to SF. So the credit for SF's win goes to Lc0, not SF. 😂
    It's also worth pointing out that, according to Stockfish, 23. d5 is losing by -8.00. It's the equivalent of blundering your Queen! But if Leela had found 23. Ne5 (as most other engines do quite easily), it would have gone on to either win or draw.

    One thing I don't understand: If you let 2 engines play against each other with the same time control and from the same starting position, shouldn't all the games go exactly the same?

    • @ElKartoffelbreii
      @ElKartoffelbreii 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There are always minimal disturbances, on normal PCs there are always some other programs running in the background, which influences processing speed and things like that. But even physical circumstances like temperature and humidity and things like that effects the hardware the engines are running on, which then therefore effect processing speed which then may change a decision or two made in the game.
      You can optimize a lot things, but they will never be perfect and the circumstances will never be the exact same.

    • @lordofcastamere9376
      @lordofcastamere9376 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Both have stochastic variables so you don't get the same move every time

    • @ryanhanson3365
      @ryanhanson3365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ElKartoffelbreii If the engine wanted to be completely deterministic, it could be, but it's coded not to be to make things more interesting. If it was deterministic, the only variable would be time. E.g. a slow computer and a fast computer would output the same result every time, but the time required to produce that result would vary.

    • @tomriddle2257

    Leela would never play e4. Strongest is 1. d4 2.c4 so Leela is already at a disadvantage playing a sub-optimal move on move 1. Interesting video pitting top engines against each other in different openings however. I would be interested in seeing more of these. English, French, Dutch and English Defense openings perhaps. Leela is a very bad engine. It's just that people play it using really fancy GPUs, while other engines get non-so-fancy CPUs. This problem propagates to the greater issue of what CPU should be considered equivalent to what GPU? There really is no metric.
