Is it just on cans at the start of a combo? It sounds like it from what mura said, if so it's not gonna make much difference since most can setups involve throw or combos into the can. Hopefully it's not like that, bit gutted she didn't get more since there's a few things I think she needs

Former Dhalsim player here: This combo did exist. The buff here is how meter efficient his routes are on punish counter full screen. He no longer has to spend 3 bars of drive gauge to combo into bigger damage, only one bar of drive
@SimoneBellomonte sample size bias. he's the least picked player according to the official website's usage rates. The few people who still play him are cracked at the game. it would be super rare for a new player to pick him.
The Ed nerf was expected but atleast they didn't touch Drive Gauge meter build. Recovering Drive Meter was usually what I want from the dream combo anyway
That small buff put Kimberly back into the 7k club with her max damage. her stun combo being a 7.3k when she's buffed, 7.1k unbuffed. The original nerf came from the fact Izuna (nue twister) scaling was increased to 20% last big patch. so basically they swapped and broke even.
It was bad when you landed a stun and your combo route involved spray can and nue twister 😂 combo just got scaled out of existence. I think they want you to go for resets a lot with Kim, and they're scared a minor tweak to damage could make her way too good somehow.
Sim always had punish counter heavy kick into fireball heavy kick. The extra frames should allow him to drive rush into back or crouching heavy punch now tho
imo after getting alot of experience against Bison, his scissor kicks didnt bother me too much anymore, and i know when i can punish them. IMO, i wish they would have nerfed some of his plus frames in certain situations if anything.
Dhalsim could always combo hk into fireball but depending on distance. Had to be not too close and not too far to link. The distancing is more generous now
Bison needs more of a nerf, he does way too much damage, his drive rush is way too fast and everything he does is pretty much on block. Zangief nerf was necessary and fair. There is absolutely No reason why ed or rashid should be building any meter while their level 2 is out and active. They need to shut that down .Overall the top characters stayed top still

That Chun change to her anti-air is great, being minus after a "successful" anti-air is not great but at least it doesn't cost you health. I understand that pain completely because it's very similar to the reason why people misunderstood the change to Guile's F+HK (UDK) knocking down and back on counter hit against airborne opponents. I saw a lot of people testing the change after the patch by trying to anti-air with it, it is terrible as an anti-air as the hitbox above Guile's leg basically doesn't exist but it has a great hitbox below it. So why the change then? There are some moves, like Chun F+HK, Ryu's F+HK, even UDK itself, etc. that beat lows and throws. They are airborne for a few frames before they become active. If you counter hit those during the airborne frames with UDK before S2 you got a weird air reset with the opponent recovering almost instantly due to being almost on the ground already and so Guile would be like -15 with the opponent very close to him. It was rare people had the awareness to actually get that punish but if they did...it was a full max damage punish on Guile for landing a counter hit. Very niche case, but would have been devastating to UDK once people figured it out if Capcom hadn't fixed it.
Honestly I hate the Chun change. YOU SHOULD GET BLOWN UP FOR SCREWING UP. It is on you as a player to understand your own characters tools. This game coddles you too much for poor spacing timing whatever. Nothing ever drops like an old game where sloppy timing or spacing resulted in you being countered.

If Tensho kicks were a single hit, (like a normal Shoryuken for example), instead of several we wouldn't be having this conversation because there would be no such thing as a partial connect. It's clearly not intended to fall out and it is completely unreasonable to expect people to count pixels while their opponent is mid-jump. You saw how difficult it was to replicate in the video when trying to get the fall out intentionally. Same thing with UDK I talked about as well, this is not coddling, it's an oversight on Capcom's part and understandably so because the issues with these two moves are fairly rare. In both of these cases the player DIDN'T mess up, they didn't whiff, they didn't get blocked, the opponent recovered way faster than intended because of a rare interaction. Plus, if you land a counter hit and lose 60% for it, I guarantee the ALL CAPS portion of your rant will be replaced with something about "Capcom's insane incompetence" rather than it being your fault in some way. This was certainly my feeling when I landed counter hit UDK into a loss. Though I do promise that if/when this happens to your character I will support fixing that too.
It's funny, the jp nerf led to me learning to fit in his 6hk anti air which combos and leveled me up a bit. So I got something from that nerf and it's gone now, win win for me.

This balance patch is a godsend for Team Fighting Spirit in the US SFL. All of a sudden DCQ, Xian and NL have now become monsters with these buffs. Mena and Knukledu's, and team red rooster team have been hit the hardest. Guile is no longer top tier. Gief is no longer top tier. I feel bad for red rooster as they went out their way to procure a gief specialist. Bison is also no longer top tier as his scissor kick no longer skips neutral. Mena , Punk and Knuckledu are in for a world of pain. Fighting spirit's gonna be leaving bodies all over the place with JP, Luke and Deejay now being top tier and they have a specialist main in the big winners of this patch.
Bison question If you perfect parry OD Psycho Crusher and then go to punish with a DI, does this still "reopen" the window for him to cancel into Level 3 / CA? I was hoping that bug would be fixed since you cannot normally cancel after a perfect parry.
Thank God they reverted that braindead nerf to JP's c HP that single handed made me drop the character. Having no consistent antiair at many ranges felt miserable.
Not sure why Mura is so triggered by it. Jumping in on JP was basically free in S2. It was unfun to play as JP having to hard read jumps to have a chance. Combined with these other buffs, JP might actually be in a good, but fair, spot right now. We'll see how it plays out.
I think the gief nerfs are perfect fair aslong as they make his anti air hit cross up and give him a level 1 that hits people on the ground and is 10f start up, since we making the hardest character to get in on somebody in the game the least amount of damage.
Don’t take my word for it, but there’s a hidden buff that his jumping headbutt hitbox got buffed. Can now work on crouching characters and you don’t have to microwalk in corner after level 2 to hit it.
Xian / Zhen / Smug gonna be working with the new Dee Jay buff. Other notable former Dee Jay players probably don't have the reason to come back (Fuudo, Yamaguchi, ....)
@@rexflores8461 Just Google Street Fighter 6 Winrates or Street Fighter Battle Diagrams, you can even look at the other ranks data and it even shows Modern characters winrates, every character in the game has worse winrate except for Chun-Li which has very slightly higher winrate compared to Classic Chun. Also technically speaking the data shows average MU winrates, it doesnt take character popularity into account, which is actually a good thing, so if you have trouble against a very popular character, you can practice with 1 of their counters. Theres also a guy called CatCammy i believe who used to post data like this be4 Capcom even put up the website. Thats all the information i know and have man. 👍 After looking at the official data and seeing the huge discrepancy between it and the pros tier lists, i basically said "ok screw it", why should i believe the opinion of some guy (although with good understanding of the game, definitely) when i can just look at 100% accurate data that depicts a totally different story? This game is very insanely well-balanced rn, even dota 2 which is famous for its good balance doesnt nearly come close to this level, i can only praise crapcom for its genius design of the Drive System and character balance. 🗿
I don't think many Kimberly players start combos with can it's nearly impossible. If it scales less during combos that's good but if not it's a nearly useless buff
It's really strange how they ignore the bottom 5 characters. These changes look fine to me but why only constantly tweak the top 10 or so characters while the low tiers are completely ignored? Doesn't affect me as I play Akuma but I would like to see more Jaime or Manon in tournaments
I love Manon's aesthetically but her kit is a mess - try playing her in modern some time and you'll really see it. But even in classic she can't really do the dishonest things SF6 wants you to do. You can DRC on block into command grab and... that's it. Which is cool with five medals and meh with one. And you still die if they jump.
Its an odd patch. For better or worse: Capcom's philosophy for these mid season patches seems to be focusing on minor bug fixes, unintended consequences, and extreme outliers. Basically these aren't major rewrites to the character's or their toolkits...just a few editorial notes to round out some rough edges. ....or at least I would say that but then you have some characters getting some pretty major retunning like dhalsim so....I don't know...I'm not really sure what their thought process is TBH. I'm just gonna keep grinding away with Jamie and my fraud Ryu.
I think Jamie's lack of tournament presence makes complete sense. He's not even the worst character in the game, but he's a jack of all trades. So you're not going to win consistently through the strength of your character and you're not going to get free wins because you play a grappler and get 3 lucky grabs or play another low tier like sim and get your occasional 7:3 match-ups. For a character that needs to drink to get better most of the time players at the tippy top just choose oki all the time over getting another drink which is not what you want to see.
Jamie is really good. Most of you just suck at using him. It’s NOT the character it’s the player. But most of you blame the character instead of yourself. Get better ❤️🩹.
I guess no, Luke still a T2 character after these minor buffs, they do not change major flaws of Luke in S2--If Luke need high damage, his resource hungry 5HP still the way to go After all his ground game still inferior compare with Ryu

Kinda harsh to punish Gief (even though i like the changes because both headbutt and knee where obnoxious) with cammy ken and rashid not getting any nerfs again. Capcom really has such a clear vision. They will never ever let a grappler be anywhere close to good. Imo Gief jumped from low tier to high mid tier and banggg immediately reverted. If Gief (or Manon or Lilly) is the tenth best character in the game at any point, the nerfs will rain down soon after

JP's 2hp anti air buff at the very least, is the right buff he needed. Ryusei & Acqua get wrecked in SFL trying to use JP, their opponent just need to jump to win
So happy about the JP buff to crouching Hp. I picked up the game during season 2 and I’m in Diamond rank. It has been so difficult to beat Akuma and Bison with all of their air options without a consistent anti air
According to Acqua, it's better for JP to just do air to air against character that has jump arc changing move (Akuma notably). Akuma also has less health, so air to air is not so bad in term of damage.
Never used Knee, its "press button and die" move. But i have mix feelings with Headbutt. +8 on hit is great, because hellstab into lvl2 is wonky on the heat of the battle, but the damage scalling is moronic, to say the least.
Gief headbutt damage wasn't the problem tho, it was the gauge chip and plus frames, I felt like keeping the damage the same but just nerfing the chip and frame advantage on headbutt would be much more appropriate.
They clearly hate grapplers with all the decision they have made to make them harder and less fun to use then in any other fighting game. I bet his lariat STILL doesnt punish crossups.
Zangief damage was very high coz he has no tools in the neutral. Now he has even less tools and less damage. Just give him the green hand so he can play the neutral.

9 times out of 10 cans are blocked, so this buff is garbago beans.
Characters with that much mobility shouldn't also have high damage. If I want Cammy Fighter Five I can reinstall it.

I don't think many Kimberly players start combos with can it's nearly impossible. If it scales less during combos that's good but if not it's a nearly useless buff
It's really strange how they ignore the bottom 5 characters. These changes look fine to me but why only constantly tweak the top 10 or so characters while the low tiers are completely ignored? Doesn't affect me as I play Akuma but I would like to see more Jaime or Manon in tournaments
I love Manon's aesthetically but her kit is a mess - try playing her in modern some time and you'll really see it. But even in classic she can't really do the dishonest things SF6 wants you to do. You can DRC on block into command grab and... that's it. Which is cool with five medals and meh with one. And you still die if they jump.
Its an odd patch. For better or worse: Capcom's philosophy for these mid season patches seems to be focusing on minor bug fixes, unintended consequences, and extreme outliers. Basically these aren't major rewrites to the character's or their toolkits...just a few editorial notes to round out some rough edges.
....or at least I would say that but then you have some characters getting some pretty major retunning like dhalsim so....I don't know...I'm not really sure what their thought process is TBH. I'm just gonna keep grinding away with Jamie and my fraud Ryu.

I think Jamie's lack of tournament presence makes complete sense. He's not even the worst character in the game, but he's a jack of all trades. So you're not going to win consistently through the strength of your character and you're not going to get free wins because you play a grappler and get 3 lucky grabs or play another low tier like sim and get your occasional 7:3 match-ups.
For a character that needs to drink to get better most of the time players at the tippy top just choose oki all the time over getting another drink which is not what you want to see.

Capcom really has such a clear vision. They will never ever let a grappler be anywhere close to good. Imo Gief jumped from low tier to high mid tier and banggg immediately reverted. If Gief (or Manon or Lilly) is the tenth best character in the game at any point, the nerfs will rain down soon after

JP's 2hp anti air buff at the very least, is the right buff he needed. Ryusei & Acqua get wrecked in SFL trying to use JP, their opponent just need to jump to win
So happy about the JP buff to crouching Hp. I picked up the game during season 2 and I’m in Diamond rank. It has been so difficult to beat Akuma and Bison with all of their air options without a consistent anti air
According to Acqua, it's better for JP to just do air to air against character that has jump arc changing move (Akuma notably). Akuma also has less health, so air to air is not so bad in term of damage.

Never used Knee, its "press button and die" move. But i have mix feelings with Headbutt. +8 on hit is great, because hellstab into lvl2 is wonky on the heat of the battle, but the damage scalling is moronic, to say the least.

Gief headbutt damage wasn't the problem tho, it was the gauge chip and plus frames, I felt like keeping the damage the same but just nerfing the chip and frame advantage on headbutt would be much more appropriate.
They need to buff his defense, not his offense. Lariat still doesn't protect against crossovers, and he has no wakeup OD move to protect against oki.
Marisa ain't getting buffed just straight up made her the most useless character they always gotta kill my characters😢
