Originally I found you by accident, I'm so glad that I did. Since then I've realized what a font of knowledge you are and mostly self taught. I love that you are repurposing fabric, that is what I am interested in doing right now and you have given me much food for thought. I particularly like your embroidery and I have learned a lot. What I enjoy most is your easy way of speaking through out your process of working . It's not forced, just conversational I feel as if I am sitting with you in your charming home. Thank you for making these videos each one is like taking a personal workshop without leaving home. You're doing a terrific job and a worthwhile one. I hope you continue, I really don't think you will run out of topics.
Hang on…I’d like to hear more about making the stair carpet. I can’t believe all the stuff you can make. I feel there’s so much more to discuss from this video. Please tell us more! Thank you from Winnipeg Canada
Marion a skirt from wool scraps is a wonderful idea. You are so creative. What amazes me is your ability to give new life to old discarded things. Also you never say I need to go to the store and purchase an item. You just rummage around and ta da you have a solution.
Oh how lovely clever lady - recycling is very fashionable now - you would look right at home in Carnaby Street. The colours are sweet and I really like the frills, this is going to keep you warm and smart Marion - thank you xx
I never thought you could make anything good with felted-up bits of old jumpers, but here you are, showing me some marvellous, well-worthy creations! Great work, Marion! 💐
Wonderful! Truly wonderful! I live in the Caribbean and would never need a felted wool skirt... but the idea!!... has me thinking what I might do with thrifted and second hand cotton shirts. Wonderful!
Sub tropical Australia here. Probably would be hard pressed to find enough woollen garments in the first place. I would go for shirts that have a bit of synthetic to cut down on the ironing. Good luck if you decide to do it.
Marion, you have such a creative mind, and you don't fuss over the design, you just go for it---and everything you do comes out so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Dearest Marion 😊, love it that your " little trunk" doesn't seem to have got any lower in its levels! Lol 😅-just like my suitcases!!just finished making pjs for all my grandees, they like them because theyre, comefortable & winter warm; that they lounge around in;(& call them cuddles/ hugs!) My goodness, Marion! What will you think of next? You are brilliant! It’s exciting to see what you will create each week. Never a disappointment!❤❤❤ the coat and skirt are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your talents!
I like this idea of a patchwork skirt from wool sweaters. I think for me, I'd enjoy an ankle length skirt. And also a knee length vest. Thank you for posting & inspiring ideas.
Beautiful and creative Marion ❤ You are such an inspiration to me. I'm planning to follow your advent projects this year, as best I can. Next year is for stash busting for me 💖🤪💕 I love your channel ❤❤❤
I love it and I'll definitely make one for myself. Yet I will make it a bit longer and I will put some embroidery on the bottom part, maybe a number of birds in a long row all around. And maybe some vertical branches here and there. 🕊️🐤🐦🌿🥀🌱
It is absolutely Lovely Marion!!! You are such a multi talented individual!! Thank you so much for showing me how to make this Fabulous skirt!!! Love it!! ❤
I love boiled wool....well, I have to considering how many times I've accidentally felted my woollies! The skirt looks very 'traditional costume' and is very fetching. I have a growing box of boiled wool....you have been giving me ideas! ❤🎉
Wow, if my seams had begun to ripple like that, I'd've been terrified to continue! But what a gorgeous design feature it makes! 😍 Believe it or not, pure wool sweaters, non superwash treated, are hard to find in charity shops - at least where I live😢 But I'll continue to keep an eye out, for you did say it took you years to collect yours. Oh, I'd love to see how you made your carpet!😍 Thanks for another inspiring video, Marion❤
Hi Madame! I found you just a few minutes ago, and I immediately knew you are a "meticulous" sticher!!! I was amazed how beautiful those Ivy leaves are, and then, I saw you making the pocket, which was so meticulously made, with the LONICERA , my favourite flower!!! And then, this dress, or skirt, or jacket came into being!!! You keep me in amazement, my dear!!! You are a very talented woman!!! TFS - love, Cleo
Brilliant idea, Marion. As you said "anything at all". I'm thinking of a long vest or maybe just sew together all the pieces I have and look at it as fabric for, anything at all. Your skirt is lovely and must feel nice and cozy.
I did something simple with two pieces of woolen fabrics I'd had for years... a plain tunic (might embroider on it) and a simple wool dress. So satisfying! If i remember after a little trip this week, I will show you a pic of them.
Do so enjoy your content! You & I have cleaned & sorted at my mom's house for hours. Not a fun task, but having you along for the adventure makes it a bit easier💙💜💙 Thank you!
Great upcycle Marion! I absolutely love the ruffly edge you added. It looks so cozy and would be amazing to wear in our cold Winnipeg winters here in Canada. At first I was thinking, "if only I wasn't allergic to wool", and then you lined it. Problem solved!🤔😊♥
Oh Marion, you are so therapeutic to watch, I love that you repurpose things and you’ve already used your felted sweaters for several amazing projects, your skirt and your coat are an absolute triumph, wear them with pride, you look lovely in your skirt and it will keep you warm too 😊. I’m eagerly awaiting the stair carpet video ☺️🩷
You're going to need that warm woollen skirt in the next couple of days Marion! I bet if you compiled a list of 'Marion's Makes', it would be a very long one, nothing seems to be beyond your imagination or capacity.
Love the skirt. I have a stash of wool jumpers just waiting. I was going to make a throw, but now I have seen your skirt, I really want to make one for myself. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
Oh Marion, I'm a rug hooker too! Can you show us your stair runner please? Perhaps you can use up some of the smaller wool pieces on a proddy/proggy mat?
This is really lovely Marion- so nice with bright tights too! I have made several summer skirts using a similar pattern only mine had wedges alternating with oblong shapes - they are wonderfully swishy! I used my wool scraps to make pages for needle books :-)
Another great inspiration Marion. The wool is so delightfully colorful and cozy, and suits you to a T. However for myself wool is simply hives inducing. I have been fortunate however to have lots of scraps of lightweight blanket fleece, as I once knew a gal who worked for an outdoor company that made fleece coats. She used to give me boxes of the stuff. Most of it I made up into baby blankets years ago, but I think it might just fill the bill for a project like this?! It beats having it sit in a box in my closet. We are in the middle of a wind and rain storm much like you have been having. It is cold and time to batten down the hatches. Thank you for another wonderful time in Marion's World. Maybe I'll make some fleecy sweat pants too. 😊❤
@marionsworld24 Truer words were never spoken. Oh the satisfaction when I find just the right piece in my stash for the project. It justifies all my collecting up of bits and bobs. 😁
Just think, each one of those jumpers has a story, and if they could talk just what stories would they tell? Which is fun to imagine as long as they all don't suddenly yell out, when you sit down. "Hey, your sitting on my arms!" 😂
Absolutely FABulous Marion! I love that coat so very much! It's the best colorful creation of misfits making an awesome piece of art! You are a true gem. I'd be wearing one right along beside you!
You are too much, Marion! What a creative soul you are. I love that skirt. It's just adorable. Thank you for showing us another wonderful use for older clothes rather than being thrown out. On a side note I'm gathering ingredients for your Christmas cake. When I mentioned it to my hubby he got very excited 😁All I need is the spirits .. that will be Tuesday 🥰
Oh, I like this! It reminds me of a skirt my mother made herself out of old neckties, utilizing the wedge shape as you have done here. I can't remember what she did at the waist or whether it had pockets, but she left the pointed ends along the hem so the effect was a big zig-zag all the way around, and because it was a flared skirt, it had a nice swing to it when she moved. Very cool. ❤
Hi Marion , thank you for sharing this reusing fabric is something I really love. So much ends up in the landfill. I loved the advent last year and am really looking forward to this year. I made so many holiday things for my friends and family. Looking at your machine it reminds me of my Singer flyweight. It's that same celery colour. I think mine is considered vintage 😂 but it's a sturdy little machine. I prefer hand sewing but it's nice to have if you need it.
This is a very creative approach to making a warm garment Marion. I love your "create as you go" approach! It gives me confidence to try something new. Thanks Marion!!! The skirt and the coat look so warm, and perfect for our cold Canadian winter. ❤❤
Making clothes in this way means I get something truly individual. I would never have had the confidence to wear anything like this years ago... But now 🤔 I just think as long as it makes me happy I can wear what I want 😊
So, you’ve definitely inspired me to do some felting for a project !!! What a lovely, colorful skirt Marion !!! Looks just perfect on you, Marion 😊 In Tennessee where I live, wool is just too hot, to wear, but, I’m sure thinking about a table mat type project, or pillow. Thank you so much for sharing your creative World, Marion !!!!
I love watching your creativity, who would have thought a skirt from old felted jumpers. I too can't wait ti see the stair carpet.i watch the great British sewing bee and in 2020 Matt the challenge was to make a ladies garment from recycled knitwear and Matt won garment of the week with his ladies dress, your skirt reminded me of that xx
Unbelievable! That was awesome! And l’m thinking here, if one doesn’t like the contrast colors, it could be dyed to lower the contrast! Love it! Thank you for sharing!❤
Marion, that was fantastic. You inspire us all. Loved your coat and am very curious about your stair carpet. I know what you mean about using your stash. Just finished a big scrappy quilt and really my sewing room does not look any emptier. :)
I'm utterly blown away by your imagination, creativity and talent. That skirt is gorgeous! And oh my ...that coat is stunning. You made me think of Harry Styles, I could so see him modelling that coat. And of course Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colours. Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Thankyou so much for sharing. Really looking forward to catching up on your videos. I came across you on a news feature.
I just watched a video of an event in Tasmania that might interest you. It's Remade 202x (x = whatever year) by Interweave Arts. I think your skirt would have fit right in. There is lots of info about it on the web but the video was on a channel called "gone rustic". I imagine the skirt will be cozy warm in the winter.
This is great and a great idea for saving clothes destined for land fill. I am repurposing a vest from a felted jumper. After seeing your skirt I am going to add some other felted wool to my vest to make it even more useful. Thanks so much for sharing all these projects.
I love the skirt I would wear it just up my street. Wool jumpers in charity shops are few and far between. A friend brought in her mother’s cashmere sweaters and we made fingerless gloves. Only a small item so will not diminish your stash by a great deal, but maybe you can make some for Christmas presents for your family❤
I look so forward to your videos. It’s too warm here in southern Alabama, USA for wool skirts most of the time, but I loved watching you construct it. I have yet to make a split skirt like that but I’ve wanted to. With this video I have learned that I really don’t need a pattern! Take care. Thank you for sharing!
I am always amazed Marion how you can just put things together and create such beautiful items. I couldn't wear the skirt but it looks so lovely on you. I am sure you will enjoy wearing it throughout winter. Take care xx
I love to reclaim wool. I found a skirt once, but usually it’s men’s suit coats or outer wear. They are very reasonable and I can get a lot of large pieces out of them and also some smaller ones for quilting. Once I felt them I can piece them without it showing if I want to go that route.
Ingenious upcycling Marion. I love the way the seams along the borders on the skirt have gone all wavy. Colourful, beautifully unique, in warm wool for winter.
Originally I found you by accident, I'm so glad that I did. Since then I've realized what a font of knowledge you are and mostly self taught. I certainly will be making one someday!! That is a beautiful skirt
Ingenious, no waste, useful, warm and better than some garments on the catwalk.
That skirt is absolutely stunning.

I'm doing a rug hooking/stair carpet video during December..

Ankle length would look lovely but I'm not very tall and long things can feel like they swamp me a bit..

I love the skirt. I love anything that saves clothes etc from landfill. It will be lovely and warm, how practical. xx
Hi Marion. I so enjoy your surprise video of making such a lovely skirt! It's beautiful on you! Have a wonderful day! Love you!❤❤
Just wonderful 😊❤
What an amazing skirt, it is really lovely and will be a joy for you to wear. I would love to see you in the coat too. You are very talented
I bought sewing machine and serger and im scared to go on with sewing. You are inspiring!
Just go for it- you will do fine😊
I look so forward to your videos. It’s too warm here in southern Alabama, USA for wool skirts most of the time, but I loved watching you construct it. I have yet to make a split skirt like that but I’ve wanted to. With this video I have learned that I really don’t need a pattern! Take care. Thank you for sharing!
It was down to 7 deg here today. I needed my warm skirt on... :)
You are amazing! I wasn't too sure when you started this video, but it turned out great! How interesting! Enjoy yourself on Thursday, can't wait! X
I hope it's as lovely as usual and you have a great time too!
I am always amazed Marion how you can just put things together and create such beautiful items. I couldn't wear the skirt but it looks so lovely on you. I am sure you will enjoy wearing it throughout winter. Take care xx
😊💐
I love to reclaim wool. I found a skirt once, but usually it’s men’s suit coats or outer wear. They are very reasonable and I can get a lot of large pieces out of them and also some smaller ones for quilting. Once I felt them I can piece them without it showing if I want to go that route.
Felted wool of any kind is so useful 😊
That's brilliant Marion, you are very talented 😀
Ingenious upcycling Marion. I love the way the seams along the borders on the skirt have gone all wavy. Colourful, beautifully unique, in warm wool for winter.
Great inspiration. Thanks! I am trying to figure out what to make with my old tshirts...
