What do you think of Ganna’s record breaking bike? Let us know in the comments! 👇
Súper Agradable 😄😄
I like the fact about what they did to the saddle
TOTALLY AWESOME.........LOVE THE AERO
I want it. That's what I think of it.
I like how Ollie repeats the fact about the saddle tape twice.
It's an editing mistake, the video contains that take twice.
Editing mistake, or result of ingesting too much "purified malted water" too quickly 🙂
How can a person viewing the video spot this mistake instantly - on first viewing.... Yet GCN can edit the video and put it out without spotting it? Shoddy
@@germurphy4986 easy - for somebody seeing the video TH-cam, any duplication is an obvious deja-vu. but when you're editing a video, you see _every_ clip multiple times to decide how to best put them together. So at the end when watching the whole thing to check, all of them will be deja-vus and the one that's actually duplicate doesn't stick out.
There are worse things than stealing 10 seconds of viewers' time for a duplicate clip. (For example, stealing 10 minutes of viewers' time for a hardly-concealed commercial...)
Then again, you don't pay them and don't need to watch their content, do you?
Anything is possible after a few mineral waters
Did you know they modified the saddle. They added a piece of grippy tape stuck on the top to stop him sliding around. Any slight positional changes while you're riding along can have some aerodynamic penalties.
They even did it twice!
Did you know they modified the saddle. They added a piece of grippy tape stuck on the top to stop him sliding around. Any slight positional changes while you're riding along can have some aerodynamic penalties.
That's very interesting. Another little known fact about this bike is how they modified the saddle with grippy tape to stop any sliding around. No one ever mentions this but it's all about those aero gains!
I think you guys missed talking about the point that they modified the saddle with grippy tape to stop any sliding around which encourages a bunch of core workout by the rider towards the end of the hour record which is ultimately more aero.
Good point, but did you know that they modified the saddle? They added a piece of grippy tape stuck on the top to stop him sliding around. Any slight positional changes while you're riding along can have some aerodynamic penalties.
I loved how Ollie repeated himself about the tape on the saddle. Not only was Ollie enjoying a few mineral waters when he filmed the segment, apparently he also had a few while he was in the editing booth!
Ignoring a couple of hiccups, this was a really good video. I love Ollie's enthusiasm for bicycle tech.
Oops!😂
Ollie's presentation can best be described as "kid in a toy shop" and it is infectious! When I first saw the size of the chainwheel I thought Ganna had ridden a trike!
He is fully in his element here!
A masterpiece of engineering & design! Thanks for that in-depth review. PS We'd all be like that visitor taking a sneak peek of both Ganna's cutting-edge Pinarello & GCN's coolest nerd!
Thumbnail’s non drive side, that’s just a nice
What was Ollie thinking when posing for that photo!! 🙈
My god, ollie's explanation are SPOT ON!
That's the coolest bike ever! 🇮🇹
I think Ollie shall go for his own GCN record with a 3D printed bike next time.
Ganna is shaking in his boots! 🤣
been waiting for another gem like "its been redesigned so its a completely new design"
4:40 ~ I SWEAR I heard you scream "UNICORN BLACK!" in your head. Good call. I loved that paint job. I've watched this vid repeatedly to admire it. A very good tour of the bike and its features. Thanks Dr. Bridgewood.
Amazing bike, love the cool F1 like levels of attention to detail ❤
That is a gorgeous bike. I'd love to give it a go.
Am I losing my mind or did Ollie talk about the saddle exactly the same twice?
Yep you are correct.
@@uzairpeters2676 did Ollie have too many mineral waters or the editors?
@@robflel 3 beers kicks well
Definitely an editing error. But good video nonetheless.
It was that beer.😂
I think I'm in love with Ollie.
God help you
I think that is the coolest bike I’ve ever seen. Thanks for a thorough review Ollie ”one too many beers” Bridgewood 😂👍
😂
Wonderful bike :) Quite a learning :)
Those are not just Shimano pedals. They come with Favero pedal-based power meter as well.
The narrow bottom bracket isn’t new. The idea was actually Greame Obree’s in the ‘90’s. He needed to build his own axle and bearings. As I recall, the bearings were the parts used from a washing machine. The press picked up in that and reported that the bike was built from old washing machines. Obree was years ahead in terms of his understanding of aerodynamics. A true maverick but one with much cleverness.
Ollie has a few beers and then covers it all again he's so excited!
I think you had more than one beer 😂 we all have to hydrate we all know about the saddle and bars
Ollie is like a kid at Christmas already 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow important saddle...... soooo good it got mentioned twice 🤪🤪👏🏻👏🏻😂😂
Oops! 🤭
You live for this. 👍
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) : synonym for 'never ugly' --->> Pinarello!
Honestly it's amazing. I would dig seeing how's its made , maybe they have a cross section we could see, maybe a factory tour?
Ineos' channel has several behind the scenes looks at this bike shot at the manufacturer.
@@RenaissanceWW Tankx
INEOS Grenadiers!!!
If you watch the live stream I think the grippy tape of the saddle gave Ganna's undercarridge the Si treatment and wore the lyrca down the the chamois.
I must say, the Pinarello Bolide F HR3D is almost there: missing road transformation with a SRAM eTap groupset installation! Boom!💥💥💥
What size is the frame?? Is the usual Pinarello 55 (biggest size for their TT bikes) or since it was especifically made for Ganna’s hour record attempt it is a big bigger??
Take a drink every time Ollie says "Aero"
Are the saddle patches commercially available?
Nice to see young Jeremy Clarkson at the bike show taking a picture of Ollie with the bike at the end.
Let's focus on a minor editing mistake and ignore that latex & GP's were chosen and successful over every other option available.
A Ribbed Pinarello . . . that's WATTS for pleasure
I cant wait to see the GCN documentary about the grippy part on the seat
The tape on the saddle? Did you know they added it to stop him sliding around because any slight positional changes when you're riding along can actually have quite big aero penalties?
64×14!
Beautiful bike. Thanks for showing it in such detail.
11:31 You know it's a Pinarello . . . when a photo-bomber intrudes a GCN video!
Where can I download the CAD file?
Finally!!! The first GCN presenter that can correctly pronounce Bolide!
I think everyone can agree he's the over powered brainiac at GCN~
He used Faverro Duo Shi power meter
its amazing how cadex + speccialized bikes go for wiide ass forks and chainstays then old guards like pinarello go for the thinner is winner concept... i like this old gguard methodology better, aesthetically
Very cool 😎
? What is his saddle tilt?
GCN can i have a request make a video of LOOK KG 496. I really love this bike please
170 mm cranks on the track? How do you not clip the corners?!
Ollie lives for this
You should have seen his face when we joked we were sending Alex instead! 😂
I presume there‘s a continental lab somewhere with prototype tread patterns which are designed to be more aero
Ollie, put the beer down, you've started repeating yourself😁
Any idea what the weight is for the complete bike?
He did say at the start, it's 9 kgs something.
9.3kg
Ollie seemed so excited, I think the bike was robbed for his pleasure 😂
I love this bike, as a concept bike. Don't think they should have allowed it, there's NO way they ever planned on making it commercially available in any real way.
Those tubercles are not difficult to make in composites. They've been done on lemans prototype car rear wings
i didn’t say impossible!
Okay, now I need to add a sticker next to my “aero” sticker that says 3D Printed on my Gravel bike.
I would be concerned about the structural integrity of a 3D printed bike vs. other frame materials. Seems like the material would be more brittle and not as strong as other materials. Maybe okay for an hour record, but how about on the road for 5 years?
Ollie mentioned its in fact over engineered...
Tubercules make you faster! If I had tuberculosis would I be fast as well?
Yep, you would so fast you won't even shift
Ollie grabs a beer and starts repeating himself. 😅
Can't believe you didn't talk about that saddle. Apparently it has grip tape to stop him moving around
But Ollie did. Weren't you paying any attention?
Good spot. They also added some sticky tape to the top of the saddle to stop him sliding around because any slight positional changes when you're riding along can actually have quite big aero penalties! 😉
A weapon of a bike ridden by a weapon of a rider.
What's the real hour record ? The one that's not held back by uci rules?
What is that a Huffy
I didn't pick up on "what" material was used to make the 3D frame. Unobtainium? I mean, look at all that cheddar!
Sorry, but after all these years of using Pinarello none has ever corrected the pronunciation of Bolide?
In Italian it is pronounced with accent on the O, like bOlide, not bolIde
I have a 3d printer. Pretty sure i can print that humpback shape in strips and stick it on any seat tube. Using flexible filament. The CAD design of a wavy thing is one of the simplest things to design. Anybody interested? Would probably look kind of ugly, is the only thing... And not be particularly durable. But cheap as hell.
Who's the editor lol :)))))
I love the limits that technology has gone to. I don't think it is a beautiful bike though. That is reserved for the Lotus 108.
If you love the Lotus 108, you'll have to watch our 'Quantum Leap' documentary on GCN+. It's presented by some guy you might recognise!! 😉😂 👉 app.globalcyclingnetwork.com/UJ4ecV92k5SbSBZe6
Ollie Corrugations on the Downtube not nodules. ( See. Corrugated cardboard and corrugated roofing sheets.)
Ganna didn't use shimano pedals, he used assioma power meter pedals during his the record breaking ride. They probably swapped the pedals cose ineos isn't sponsored by assioma. @GCN tech
Common Ollie, we are all thinking it...
Do another hour record... .
I dare you, I double dare you.😁
Come on u mean?
👀
Would love to learn why the down tube doesn’t have what’s on the seat tube…
There are no advantages for the small gaps at the front fork. Why not design the same pattern on the fork as they did on the seat tube?
YES! CLINCHERS WITH TUBES.....THE BEST FOR LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
nope! tubulars with latex tubes
What is the GCN mineral water budget?!
Not much left to be honest after Dan's spend! 🤣
It's a mistake to allow such a massive R&D budget into the hour record. Now it's about $$$ as much as the rider. Now Ganna's amazing feat is not comparable to past record accomplishments. I loved Boardman's hr record when he only surpassed Merckx's Mexico 74 mark by 11m. That's what made it special. Now we're spending more time ogling the tech instead of appreciating the rider and their accomplishment. Bring back the hour record on a traditional bike!
Wouldn't production bikes with trickled down technology still be too heavy when printed in any alloy compared to carefully laid up carbon bikes with the best fibers?
You still can't print carbon.
Customisation could maybe be done by 3D printing the customised moulds for carbon layout.
STELLAR REVIEW OB 🇺🇲
Ollie getting f€cked over by the editor by letting him go on about Ganna’s seat 😂
🤭
Should have brought a caliper to measure the tires xD
*Sees Ganna's aero chainset.
*Thinks "Can I find some sort of shrink-wrap plastic hack/bodge to get my 105 more aero?" 🤔
I want to know what Hambini says about it first, then Ill believe. Now its like giving candy to a kid, of cos they love it.
The new UCI rules coming in on the 1 Jan now call them 'forearm supports'.
Quite amazing the tech involved. It's so far advanced from the Merckx bike it's ridiculous. It's like a spaceship. Just goes to show how f@ing hideous the UCI were to Obree. They tried to screw him at every available opportunity. Pulling out all the stops to stop him .
I certainly agree!
Ribbed for the hour record
They put grip tape on the saddle so he doesn’t move around in his position.
Who got to turn back to watch Hambini's video?
So Ganna had only one gear…which is bigger than my biggest gear
Did he really said 'bike and subscribe'?
Derby??? Should be labelled Mercian!
I see a lot of 50 year old buisnessmen over here riding 15 k. Aero bikes, and the riders built like whales🐳😅🤪, maybe for aero gains?🙂 ( not judging someone for expensive bikes, also got myself a hard earned 5 k bike also😅)
Ollie just go get a hotel room and get it over with 😋
Серж приди видос от GCN переведи!
Maybe I'm loosing it but didn't the UCI ban that bike after Ganna set the record? I know I heard/read that somewhere.
Mmm ribbed bike for our pleasure
I think one of the missing points you didn't cover is the internal structures you can't see that 3D printing enables.
Give it to hambini and we will see how good it really is 😂

My take from this bike....UCI is stupid
Someone seems totally buzzing about this...
