This desperately needs some STEREO options. Ways to do some stereo widening and ways to control the space of the grains, to separate the behavior of the left and right channels.

People using the plugin for things you hadn't even thought of is the sign of a good product. It must have versatility, which is a strong plus point for any tool. I think I'll be buying this, and I've already thought of some things I'd like to try it out on. Well done!

Nice, and well worth the introductory price that I just paid for it. You and Cameron have come up with some wonderful ideas over the years, and you're both obviously quite skilled at what you do. I've seen some of your videos on how to create a Decent Sampler instrument, but somehow I always get a little lost in the coding or sample preparation along the way. I wonder if you would ever consider creating a step-by-detailed-step course for old hippies like myself, using Reaper and some basic coding guidance, which would enable even complete newbies to go from zero to almost hero in Decent Sampler instrument creation. Maybe I'm asking too much, but it's something I'd be willing to pay for, and maybe there are others out there who feel the same way: you can let David and Cameron know in the comments.

Ah, this is really nice and inspiring, awedome!! The sound pallet in your demos reminds me a lot of what I hear coming out of the hologram electronics Microcosm pedal. As opposed to that pedal, though, which comes across as a bit of a black box magic machine, it actually makes sense what is going on in your plugin with the different parameters and how it relates to the sound scapes. I feel like your plugin sits in a very sweet spot between intentionality and happy accidents.

I started learning music production as a hobby a couple of months ago and have been watching a lot of TH-cam guides mostly related to psy trance and techno since that's my main focus at the moment. For some reason the TH-cam algorithm decided I should watch this particular video after I had a couple of drinks tonight, and even though it had nothing in particular to do with the music I've been focusing on I liked the sound so you can thank The Algorithm for at least one of your sales tonight.

    Hi David,
Purchased this earlier and wanted to bring a potential problem to your attention. I'm using it in reaper and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it to work at first. Every time I tried turning it on with a mic plugged in, it was immediately triggering my "auto mute" function (sound over +18db). Eventually, I disabled the auto-mute and set my headphones on the table in front of me (hah) launched it again and found it was in fact making a reaaaaally loud sound. I figured out it *seems* to be the default setting of the lowpass filter being at max. Once I go into the advance tab, lower the filter, and start monitoring again, it works fine (ie doesnt cause an extremely loud sound/trigger the auto mute) even if I put the filter back upt to max after, but I do have to do this each session I want to use the plug-in.
This may just be a Reaper issue, I haven't tried it with any other DAW's yet, but just wanted to bring it up as the auto-mute definitely saved my ears.
Now that i've got it working, can't wait to dive in more and play with it- really awesome work!!!

Seems like a very interesting plugin, it reminds me to the things the Microcosm fx pedal could do only on a totally different way.
My only problem is that I cannot get my head around how I am able to mix this with my midi synths or does this only work for samples in my DAW?
I don't understand how it would receive the incoming audio signal (yet).
Really curious to see where this is going, keep up the creativity in 2024!

The ability to just turn any audio into an arpeggio in real time seems kind of trivial at first. But the utility is pretty apparent once you start demonstrating it. You could achieve something similar with a sampler, but it would be pretty tedious to cut up a sample and arrange on the keyboard every time you want to do that. If you want to change the source sound, you have to start all over. This plugin eliminates all that just does it in real time.
    Nice work and great idea!

  • @mooseyard

This started out reminding me of some of the modes of the Microcosm pedal, but you’ve added a lot more direct control.
I’m a C++ programmer too, but I’m thinking you could probably have done this in a tiny fraction of the time by using Max or PD, which are specialized languages for audio coding. I don’t know either one myself, but probably even having to learn the language up front would end up being faster.
Another question: why does the plug-in need post effects like delay/reverb? Can’t you just chain DAW effects after it?

Also, I’m new to the synth world so it could be user error - I understood this to be a standalone program so maybe that’s where I went wrong? I’m using the same Keystep you use in this video and it’s hooked up to my computer.

    • @SteveHill68K
      @SteveHill68K 9 หลายเดือนก่อน
