Really, going back from DS3 to DS1,2, they seem more easy. Because they have more slow and strategic battles, while in DS3 and above it's all spectacle fighting and never ending compo attacks. Another advise I can give; with most builds you can use the dark axe you get from the mimic pretty much untill undead settelment. That way you dont have to spend ur titanite if the weapon you want to use is not a starting one c:

First playthrough and was just playing with the default Axe. I upgraded that one and never thought of all the other jank I was collecting. Second build, after seeing a speedrunner destroying everything with the dual wielding blades of another class, I started with this one. They can be more effective and with dex, even if my axe shows more damage total in the original build. But I mainly focused on increasing vigor and endurance on this one. the axe shows more damage per hit, but if you're using the special L1/LB attack of the twinblades, you're hitting more than the number on the tooltip shows and the attack is faster than the axe. learning to dodge when you first start out is definitely challenging, but you will eventually get the hang of it and the game will become easy. Dark souls 3 definitely does have some annoying mobs though no doubt, it's just a case of learning and remembering their attack patterns which can only come with time.

Thank you! If you managed to beat ER, you already have what it takes to beat the rest! one tip i can offer for when you get around to it - the black knight weapons in dark souls 1 do quite insane damage, such as the black knight greatsword or halberd, but they’re an RNG drop. You can increase your % chance to get them by using humanities before fighting the knights, but be careful as you lose them if you die!

Apologies, I have not played Souls using kb/m, you can check the default PC bindings in the settings. I believe the button for jumping is the same as the button for roll/backstep, but you have to press it while sprinting forward without letting go of the W key.
The sprinting , rolling , backing up and jumping key are the same there , all of them are space ( sprint , roll and backing up are under the same thing theyre all space and cant be separated ) And when i try to change the button for jump it doesnt work it just doesnt do anything
I believe you can sprint by holding down the space key while holding forward, once you begin sprinting you can let go of the key. Then, you can press space again while still sprinting and holding forward to make your character jump. If you cannot play with a controller, I suggest searching to see if anyone has perhaps made a mod or a guide on how to set up the kb/m button binds in a more convenient way
4:10 , the shard is literally not there in my game. Just teleported to HWOL and went right of the bonfire to that location and the shard is not there...
it's near the 'Cliff Underside' bonfire, you can get there by jumping off on the other side of the stone bridge that you encounter after going through the stables
personally i prefer having grass crest shield on my back for more stamina regen, plus the wolfs greatsword is heavier which means you end up with worse armor to avoid fat rolling, though it's definitely also a good option!
After you unlock the leveling up system. One run through I lost about 7k souls because I killed the crystal dragon and ate the soul. You can also use the magic arrow to spam the blade master to the left of the building. He will give you a great weapon.
head out into the smoldering lake from the abandoned tomb bonfire. as soon as you get into the water, keep hugging the right wall and keep going around to the right around the edge of the lake, you'll find a tunnel that leads into the area found at 13:15.

In the first 30 levels, I'd probably suggest getting to 20 vigor, 20 endurance and then dumping the rest of the levels in dex, which should take you to around 27 dex. If you find yourself dying too quickly, you could go for even more vigor, but it starts to get diminishing returns (less HP gained per level used) after you reach 26 vigor, so I wouldn't start to level up vigor higher than around 30 until you reach the dex softcap, which is 40 with the twinblades + sharp gem.
for a first playthrough, by the end of the game i'd say you should aim to have least 40, maybe 45 vigor, as much endurance as you feel you need based on your playstyle (probably at least 30 though) and then the rest into dexterity.
The reason why the Mercenary is the best build for NEW PALYERS is because of the Twinblades...I mean, I've played over a hundred playthroughs of DS3, and I doubt that having an OP weapon is enough to make a NEW player's life easy. OP this and OP that...why are people so obsessed with OP weapons...it's not the weapon that can get you through the game - it's your play style...LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME the way you play it, not how others tell you to play.
The game will be easier for a new player if they're using a weapon that deals more damage - the faster they kill the boss, the less attacks they have to dodge. That's the entire purpose of this guide - show you how to get the most OP weapon, WITHOUT explaining how to dodge/when to attack, so you can figure out your playstyle for yourself.
@pchykins6680 if one knows just the basic mechanics of the game an op weapon will get him through not just the base game but dlcs too no matter how much of a newbie he is.Besides by copying first he can eventually discover his own playstyle.Dont see anything wrong with copying someones playstyle and an op weapon. That is no matter what you say,the easiest route a newbie can take
Dont you take some damage when you parry? Thats why i dont like using it. Id rather dodge and take no damage. Unless im mistaken and you only take damage while holding block.
You don’t need parry at all when shielding and roll is so broken. Why risk missing it? There’s so many unparryable bosses and you’ll die a few times learning the parry windows.
If you mean the weapon called just ‘Greatsword’ then yes, the twinblades are much higher DPS. but, if you like the play style of bigger weapons, there’s some greatswords that are also quite good - i recommend the Astora Greatsword or the Exile Greatsword
the ladder with the 2 large titanite shards is opposite from the big door which opens when you light the 3 flames before abyss watchers - but if you want to skip abyss watchers and come back to them later, you'll need to go back to road of sacrifice and explore the area there - you'll know you're going the right way when you fight the crystal sage - keep going past him and you'll find a different area :)
From the dilapidated bridge bonfire, head towards the big stone arch (near which the big guy with the pot and shield on his back) then right after you go under the stone arch, turn left and go up the hill, into the building, up the stairs and then out the other side of the building. the ladder should be on your right.
taking first boss took two tries, jumping on that foof from the tree already took a 100 and l just cant. l dont its cuz of keyboard or what. pathetic jumping mechanics in this game.
yeah it's really tricky at first, especially if you are used to elden ring where you can just... jump. you can eventutally get back there without having to do the tree jump later on in the game when you buy the tower key so don't sweat it too much
For strength build, the Butcher Knife is a pretty sweet starter weapon.. it restores your HP when you land hits and when you sharpen it with your R2 skill, it increases the amount of HP it restores
Stupid sellsword twin blades. They're weak and garbage. My lvl10 sharp longsword litteraly does more damage than those pieces of trash could even dream of doing for less stamina. Just another person saying "new players level up these pieces of trash to 10." Guess what. You need 1 titinaite slab for lvl9 you need like 2 or 4 for level 10. The 1st titinaite slab you run into is given to you by Siegward in the dungeon. Explain if a NEW PLAYER is stuck on the Abyss Watchers how oh how can they get their pieces of garbage twinswords to level10? Hmm? They can't. It's impossible. Theres a glitch to cheat you need at least 1 to do it. Get friends to help? What if you hate peopling and dont like playing with others? I can't stand playing with others on DS, they always find ways to cheat you. To get the sellsword twin blades you need to get passed a fricking black knight they're right next to him. I beat Dragon slayer under 5mins and still can't beat a black knight fairly. New players don't even bother about picking up these trashy swords they're useless. My dexterity is 99 Sharp Sellsword twin blades lvl10 Weighs 5.5 Durability 55 Attack power Physical 183 + 234 Critical 100 Guard adsorb Pys: 40 Mag: 30 Fire: 25 Litn: 25 Dark: 30 Stab: 27 Sharp lvl 10 longsword Weight 3 Durability 70 Attack power Physical 203+ 283 Critical 100 Guard Adsorb Phy: 45 Mag: 30 Fire: 25 Litn: 25 Dark: 30 Stab: 33 Long sword considerably better. Everyone can get one only 1000 souls from Greirat or a random drop on lothric wall. Weighs less, better durability, does more damage. And it's the most basic weapon. Sellsword twin blades are garbage. They only do more damage if you wield both at once so you can't block and it uses way more stamina. New players if you stink at surviving on DS invest in Vigor which raises health. Work on stamina worry about damage you do later we are working on trying to survive longer than 10 seconds and low health is what makes you lose. Id rather a fight take more swings than having to drink estus every 5seconds which makes you very open for attack. Only have 3 at the start of the game do you really want to use them all at the start of battle? I've beaten every boss with this long sword even Yhorm took about 2hrs but he fell over. It never leaves my 1st R-hand weapon slot, its my favorite, basic weapon but its better than those stupid useless twin swords.
Sellsword twinblades are objectively not weak, they are universally used by "professional" ds3 players (speed runners, no hit runners, challenge runners. You can start the game with the twinblades, or, drop behind the black knight, pick up the twinblades and run away from the black knight without fighting him (or just homeward bone, you can pick up the swords without agroing him.) Also, IMO blocking is a 'noob' trap. Blocking is a crutch that can definitely make the early game a lot easier, but it will end up holding you back later in the game, similar to playing DS1 with the drake sword. Learning to roll will always work against all enemies, and work with all builds and weapons. That's why, even though you're right in that blocking makes the game "easier for new players", the opposite ends up being true as you progress further in, which is why I don't recommend relying on a shield.
@@bigbart_ yeah a Professional. To be a speed runner you need to be pretty good and your ducks be all in a row. Wouldn't you say? A speed runner is a pro too. A no hitter is in their own category all together, they aren't humans, not of this realm, they need studied. They completed the game enough times already they have enough slabs to rebuild the Lothric/ Undead Settlement bridge. Midir hides from them and says go away im dead see gah. Their count of journies has symbols in it, ran out of numbers. You get a max of 5 or 6 slabs without the DLC per playthrough. They run away from the black knight because he'd cheese their nachos for sure. You need to be level 'oh my God, Lord have mercy please spare me call my mamma.' to give that fella a decent fight. Black Knight isn't somthing to paddy fingers around with. New players dont know that, mine as well start them infront of Gwyn with nothing but a blindfold. Pros and speed runners are lvl holy fricking crap, Pontiff escorts them to the Aldrich, shows them the views. A new player isn't a very good player in all honesty, probably very low stam because they're a new player. They can run for 15 seconds, Mr. Black Knight has the speed and stam of a professional marrathon runner. Be like watching a farmer catch a chicken. They'll get their boat rocked at least 15dozen times tring to get those things, there goes their souls they collected, and they're not good swords to get. They're no good. They break if the Abyss Watchers side eye it. A professional player can utilize those things to their fullest, they know what they're doing. Not their first rodeo. Someone that's good at duel wielding, has a few slabs to burn, and enough souls to upgrade the rotten things. None of that found in a new player. Comparing a new player to what a pro or speed runner can accomplish is like racing a fat groundhog to a fit cheeta. You're putting rockets on a turtle. Trying to get a new player to do what a pro\speed runner can do and call it advice isnt fair. Trying to get them to go 0 to 60 at the speed of light. A new player doesnt DOESNT. Have the level, knowledge, abilities, or tactics of a pro. That's not opinions they are facts. We were both new players once, admit it, we sucked and blowed at the same time.
I didn't say that pro players are as good as new players, you should re-read my message. I only brought them up to demonstrate that the twinblades are absolutely 'meta', which directly contradicts your claim of "They're weak and garbage." You don't need to be a pro player to use the twinblades, they are a beginner friendly weapon. Clearly, Fromsoftware agrees to some extent, or they wouldn't have put them on one of the starter classes. Obviously, I still respect your opinion - not every weapon will suit every persons playstyle. But I disagree that using a shield is a good idea for beginners for the same reason I explained in the last comment, and I disagree that the twinblades are weak.
@@bigbart_ then explain to me. I have 99 Dex 49strength. Longsword and Twinblades BOTH lvl10 sharp infusement. Same attribute bonus of Strength and dex. So the same look at their damages and adsorbtions. Of what they dont match in the Longsword is better in. Lsword is 203+283 critical 100. Twinblades 183+234 critical 100. Durability Lsword 75 Twinblades 55 Adsorbs all the same except 2. Physical and Stability. You guessed it Lsword better in both of those too. Lsword phy 45.0 Stab 33 Twins phy 40.0 Stab 27 Basic R1 attack on a hollow outside firelink. Twinblades does 337 damage. I have to hit them twice. Longsword does 440. Thats +103 more damage. One hits them. Look actully look at their damages Lsword is better. I killed Yhorm with this thing. Only thing twins has on Lsword is FP cost and 1 attribute bonus. Still Lsword does way more damage. And I wouldn't believe From Soft if they told me the grass was green. Id go look. Remember burial gift token thing had a secret use, which ended up being the biggest lie. It does nothing. Sure they'll tell you garbage swords does better they love watching people struggle. They said it was good beginner not the best. Fish always bites the hook if there's somthing tasty on it. A new player cannot grab those things and live. Losing all their souls. Those demon things with the wooden crosses on their backs are brutal with outstanding agro range. The largest agro range in fact next to dark wraiths. They're quick they chase you forever. If the BK doesnt get you, those guys will there's 2 by that door. The back way has giant crabs, 2 Exiles, the swamp, ballist, tree demon things, the monkey lion looking things, an ocean of Ghurus, the bird dudes, the toxic water, Heysel x2 and Pale Shade invaders, 3 dark wraiths, the slugs, a giant crystal lizard, and still caught by the 1 wooden cross man facing towards the door and the BK still mashes their taters he doesnt go for coffee. Their choices is die or die horrificly. All for twinblades that do less damage.
@@NatashaWinlandbro I’m on my first play through of ds3 and I have been kicking ass with the twin blades and I’m just a normal person, ludex gundyr took me maybe 6 tries, curse rotted greatwood 2 tries, deacons 1 try, abyss watchers 2 tries, pontiff 3 tries, Aldrich 2 tries, Yhorm 1 try with the weapon that the game literally gives you to beat him and help from onion man, champion gundyr 4 tries, dancer 2 tries. The sprinting , rolling , backing up and jumping key are the same there , all of them are space
( sprint , roll and backing up are under the same thing theyre all space and cant be separated )
And when i try to change the button for jump it doesnt work it just doesnt do anything
I believe you can sprint by holding down the space key while holding forward, once you begin sprinting you can let go of the key. Then, you can press space again while still sprinting and holding forward to make your character jump.
If you cannot play with a controller, I suggest searching to see if anyone has perhaps made a mod or a guide on how to set up the kb/m button binds in a more convenient way
How do ewe huemans start with those weapons...
4:10 , the shard is literally not there in my game. Just teleported to HWOL and went right of the bonfire to that location and the shard is not there...
you must have already picked it up at some point, there's no other way for it to not be there
@@bigbart_ in my inventory I have 1× Titanite Shard and 1× Titanite scale. These are both from the Cemetery of Ash,no?
@@bigbart_ Perhaps I am at the wrong Bonfire? I am at the very first one, I think u are at the second one
@@bigbart_ i found it, was at the 2nd bonfire of the map
9:12 "What a thrill"
Those who know, know 😅😅😅
6:57 where is this its not specific so idk
it's near the 'Cliff Underside' bonfire, you can get there by jumping off on the other side of the stone bridge that you encounter after going through the stables
Sorry did the same lousy jumping as you from the tree!
yo, why did you not utilize the wolfs greatsword u can get from the covenent and put it on your back for more consecutive hit damage
personally i prefer having grass crest shield on my back for more stamina regen, plus the wolfs greatsword is heavier which means you end up with worse armor to avoid fat rolling, though it's definitely also a good option!
When I go to reinforce estus flask, it says no flask found in inventory? Help pls
It means you did not pick up the ashen estus flask in the tutorial area, before Gundyr, near where you appear when you first make your character.
@@bigbart_ yea I found that out eventually, thanks tho
A very informative video thank you very much
So I DON'T HAVE to kill the lizard at the beginning? Xdd oh...
you do not have to, it's purely optional :D
You don’t but I would definitely recommend you do because you get a lot more souls giving you a head start leveling up.
I didnt even kniw there was a lizard
After you unlock the leveling up system. One run through I lost about 7k souls because I killed the crystal dragon and ate the soul.
You can also use the magic arrow to spam the blade master to the left of the building. He will give you a great weapon.
how did you go there at minute 13:08 i dont know where is
head out into the smoldering lake from the abandoned tomb bonfire. as soon as you get into the water, keep hugging the right wall and keep going around to the right around the edge of the lake, you'll find a tunnel that leads into the area found at 13:15.
You can have the best weapon but if your reflects and have no skills you will still have a horrible time with these games lol like me
13:15 where’s this swamp you mention ?

for a beginner how much vigor and dex should i up with this build in the first 30 levels?
In the first 30 levels, I'd probably suggest getting to 20 vigor, 20 endurance and then dumping the rest of the levels in dex, which should take you to around 27 dex.
If you find yourself dying too quickly, you could go for even more vigor, but it starts to get diminishing returns (less HP gained per level used) after you reach 26 vigor, so I wouldn't start to level up vigor higher than around 30 until you reach the dex softcap, which is 40 with the twinblades + sharp gem.
Sheeeeeit- I can’t jump because I’m a knight! I can only roll😔
No jumping on top of Firelink shrine for me 😳
any class can jump! press in the left joy stick while sprinting
@@bigbart_ 😍😍😍😍😍😍
i want to use the twinblades so much but it ruins the fun from fighting for me so i rather stick with my good ol' greatsword
they are indeed really OP
Hilarious intro 👍
Thank you ashen one
no problem ashen one
Tells me not to search "Pump a Rum".... does it anyway... doesn't get it 😏
I played 1 2 souls i wanna do the third i just wanna use some good builld, is this worth for me to use this build?
it's one of if not the best weapon in the game, and you start the game with it, so I'd recommend it if you want an easy time
@@bigbart_ and whats your opinion , as final LVL stats idk to 120 lvl ?
for a first playthrough, by the end of the game i'd say you should aim to have least 40, maybe 45 vigor, as much endurance as you feel you need based on your playstyle (probably at least 30 though) and then the rest into dexterity.
It won't let me upgrade my Estes flask at the start I've got everything in your video but I'm not sure why
does it give an error? you may have missed the ashen estus flask right at the start, or you may be missing the estus shards to upgrade with
@bigbart_ yeah I was missing the ashen flask lol thanks for the vid anyway
what an intro
How do you attack with the dual blades?
Once you're dual wielding using Y/Triangle, hit LB/L1 to use both at the same time!
@@bigbart_ ohhh didn’t know, in Elden Ring L1 is for parry only and L2 special attack
That is no matter what you say,the easiest route a newbie can take
LEARN TO PARRY. This skill will save you against a lot of enemies even bosses.
Except, parry frames of medium shield are notoriously awfully synced in ds3, and poise system gives you very few reasons for learning them.
@@itsmystic9075 if you mistime the parry, you’ll still take partial damage. You’ll lose no health if you parry at the right time
@@zacharylower8846 my god your actually a life saver. Welp time to grind and figure out how to parry correctly.
pls make a vid like this abt demon souls 😭
Goated dude im in 😂❤
Thanks for watching, happy to have you!
So im going to assume this is better than the greatsword..
If you mean the weapon called just ‘Greatsword’ then yes, the twinblades are much higher DPS. but, if you like the play style of bigger weapons, there’s some greatswords that are also quite good - i recommend the Astora Greatsword or the Exile Greatsword
I googled it 😢, great video btw😅
i tried to warn you - sorry about your eyes
I level what i want because im a god at dark souls games

Where is the ladder at so I can skip abyss watchers
the ladder with the 2 large titanite shards is opposite from the big door which opens when you light the 3 flames before abyss watchers - but if you want to skip abyss watchers and come back to them later, you'll need to go back to road of sacrifice and explore the area there - you'll know you're going the right way when you fight the crystal sage - keep going past him and you'll find a different area :)
I'm playing sekiro first, and then dark souls. I think I'm right .l
Don't try to do the firelink shrine tree skip unless you want to waste your time, many people can't pull it off
I cannot for the life of me find the lizard at 14:54
It's on the platform, above the giant where his arms rest :)
Ahhhhh that's right! Thanks so much
I find the number 8 please help 6:36
From the dilapidated bridge bonfire, head towards the big stone arch (near which the big guy with the pot and shield on his back) then right after you go under the stone arch, turn left and go up the hill, into the building, up the stairs and then out the other side of the building. the ladder should be on your right.
9:14 snake !!???!!??
SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!!!!
taking first boss took two tries, jumping on that foof from the tree already took a 100 and l just cant. l dont its cuz of keyboard or what. pathetic jumping mechanics in this game.
yeah it's really tricky at first, especially if you are used to elden ring where you can just... jump. you can eventutally get back there without having to do the tree jump later on in the game when you buy the tower key so don't sweat it too much
Google Pump-a-Rum. What's wrong with a cute harpy girl?
a lot as it turns out
I wish I didn't 3:16
I tried to warn you!
For strength build, the Butcher Knife is a pretty sweet starter weapon.. it restores your HP when you land hits and when you sharpen it with your R2 skill, it increases the amount of HP it restores
Yeah, easy mode lol
This game is not for me
Oh fr?🙏🏻
This game is for you and everyone, don't give up!
My dexterity is 99

Long sword considerably better.
You can start the game with the twinblades, or, drop behind the black knight, pick up the twinblades and run away from the black knight without fighting him (or just homeward bone, you can pick up the swords without agroing him.)
Also, IMO blocking is a 'noob' trap.
I only brought them up to demonstrate that the twinblades are absolutely 'meta', which directly contradicts your claim of "They're weak and garbage."
You don't need to be a pro player to use the twinblades, they are a beginner friendly weapon.
