Of all the final boss in RGG, including Kenzan. Takechi probably the only one that stand out. Unlike other, who fought you with all their might and you can actually see it in their eyes, this guy: before(0:47), during(4:06) and after(9:07), he fight with such a cool manner and even his face still remain calm. I'd say he is the best boss in the series consider how he leading you right from the start, surprise you during the battle, challenge you into a sword x sword fight and what's more? He didn't even flinch when he face our Kiryu or being overpowered by him during the entire battle.
Best boss fight in the series, hands down. The execution, the boss-specific heat actions, the music, the build-up, and the emotion all come together and just take it to another level.
And i was about to comment something like "Now THIS is a fight to the death between samurai" seeing how you've run out of healing item... Until you pull out your pistol. ⊙︿⊙

Sega of America said that the Dojima lieutenants were popular in the west when RGG was working on Ishin Kiwami so that plays a part too.

The licensing issues come in recontracting his actor for the re-use of his likeness in Ishin Kiwami, thus they went with recasting. Keep in mind this probably both happened from two big factors: 1. Influence from the west to invoke fanservice type shit 2. They're remaking the game, not remastering it like the Remastered Collection. I don't know the legal details behind that, but it allowed them to reuse actor faces without the same case of recontracting anyways...
To be honest, I think it's fine that you use health items and resort to finishing him off with your gun. This fight is really, really tough. Plus, dodge speed is so minimal and damage from him so high that missing a dodge is like half your healing items down the drain. It'd be more fun to watch without having to see all the restarts anyway, do what you need to do to make it look good and all :)

@@joemamma6344 I don't know, the fact that he had an original face and not another Yakuza character, helped to cement him as a memorable character and villain. Taking this away by replacing him with Shibusawa kind of takes away this. He's more likely to be refered as Shibusawa 2.0 since that's the face he was known as. Truthfully, like Codfish said, Modders will find a way to replace the model, so it's not a huge issue for PC players at least.
am I the only one SHOCKED on how the cinematic here in the ORIGINAL looks much better than the REMAKE? I mean look at the shading and lighting in the remake then compare it to the original...

It's crazy right? The cinematic lighting here is perfect for the setting of this story too, since it's more like a historical movie than something that needs to be real. Even within Unreal's limitations, they really shouldn't have gone for realistic lighting. It makes the world of Ishin look a lot less appealing than the beautiful looking cinematic shades they originally had.

Lol, this boss battle was hard as balls in hard mode (my first walkthrough btw) and with three bones and a single health item. I was so certain I had to restart everything but on my +30 attempt I won him by chance. Greatest final boss fight in RGG/Yakuza series.

It's just that it's gonna be so obvious. I don't think many people were expecting the new face kyodai of Ryoma's to be the final boss. The moment newcomers see Shibusawa's face in the remake they're gonna start suspecting him.

I upgraded my sword and gun way too much so I slaughtered him in a few heat actions and counters, kinda disappointed in myself. That was a good fight leon. Though you are significantly better these days at yakuza, I always enjoy watching your boss fights :)
Same thing happened to me in Yakuza kiwami 2. I bodied Ryuji with minimal effort. Lol, the one thing I'd change in this series is the enemy scaling. Make it so they scale reasonably whenever you level up

I just beat Ishin, it was amazing! But I was so overpowered, the sword you get after doing all the substories does crap loads of damage and I had armor which makes your opponent take damage when he hits you, I made every boss a joke including this one sadly, the one major flaw this game has is how OP you can be, It's ridiculous!
Hmm, maybe the reason Heat moves do barely any damage in this game is because of the fact that damage scales upward with your combo, and you're supposed to do a Heat move only to finish off a combo ?
I wonder what they were smoking when they decided these crazy heat moves and sword slashes should only do like 2% damage each. Kinda makes it look a bit ridiculous if you ask me.
Unfortunately when I played through the takechi boss I had allready upgraded both my Katana And Revolver by playing the Dungeons that it damaged takechi so much the fight was cut short

Fucking hell, Takechi was one hell of a final boss, for me he is BY FAR the hardest non Amon boss to face, he is the only non Amon boss that I gave up trying to do without HP pots, his second form is actual insanity.
First phase fight sounds like Shibusawa theme, second phase fight sounds like Kuze theme, third phase a bit like Awano theme. Yakuza 0 boss music must be come from here.
Been looking to pick this up imported since, let's face it, we're never getting this localized. Can you point me to any guides I can use to help fumble my way through the game? I've got a rudimentary understanding of Japanese but it's not enough, still a lot of stuff I don't know.
I defeated most bosses in this game using the Gun style, only 2 or 3 of them were more or less immune to it. My advice is spam Gun style as often as possible.

(finishes him off with a gun anyway) I know that this guy is tough, considering that he's the final boss... but it kinda ruins the immersion and moment imo. Is this supposed to be a self-imposed challenge, where you don't craft stronger weapons? I know that this game buff the weapons WAY too much, making all fights a piece of cake, but come on; where's your honor, using a gun in a sword fight lol But... I guess this might be the point; the age of the swordmanship is over, the era of gunpowder begins. New tech triumphing over older tech. Which is exactly what happened in Japan during those times. That boss battle is much more epic than any boss battle in Metal Gear Rising. Damn, this battle is much more epic than any boss battle. The ony battle that is more cool than that, is Shibusawa from Zero. That is one of the many reasons why I love this games. But looks like Takechi was insanly hard even of normal difficulty. Is Takechi meant to be based on an existing Yakuza character face-wise? I honestly can't remember seeing him (I'm going to feel so stupid if he was a major character or something, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't).
From what I remember, it's much larger than the canon Yakuza games, and it's already maxed out the moment you begin the game. I just counted the inventory space, it holds up to 40 items.
That's weird. I've been playing the game for the past few days and although the inventory does seem larger than the others games, I'm pretty sure it's not nearly as large as it is in this video....weird. Maybe it can be upgraded using the darma points?

Takechi is such a complex villain and a bro to Ryoma. I don't get what were they thinking with replacing him with Sibusawa, who was meh.
It's a just a model and voice actor change so hopefully the character will remain the same in every way that matters.
The only thing changing is his face model and voice actor, character stays the same so no big deal

How do you get a yellow 優 for "attack" and "technique"? It's kinda obvious for "defence" that you shouldn't take much damage.
How come every anime and video game with katana has the sword rattling like marbles in a jar every time they grip the hilt tighter or move the blade? Sounds like it's half tang

I know that this guy is tough, considering that he's the final boss... but it kinda ruins the immersion and moment imo.
Is this supposed to be a self-imposed challenge, where you don't craft stronger weapons? I know that this game buff the weapons WAY too much, making all fights a piece of cake, but come on; where's your honor, using a gun in a sword fight lol
But... I guess this might be the point; the age of the swordmanship is over, the era of gunpowder begins. New tech triumphing over older tech. Which is exactly what happened in Japan during those times.

That boss battle is much more epic than any boss battle in Metal Gear Rising. Damn, this battle is much more epic than any boss battle. The ony battle that is more cool than that, is Shibusawa from Zero. That is one of the many reasons why I love this games. But looks like Takechi was insanly hard even of normal difficulty.

How is your inventory so huge? Is there a way to make it bigger?
From what I remember, it's much larger than the canon Yakuza games, and it's already maxed out the moment you begin the game. I just counted the inventory space, it holds up to 40 items.
That's weird. I've been playing the game for the past few days and although the inventory does seem larger than the others games, I'm pretty sure it's not nearly as large as it is in this video....weird. Maybe it can be upgraded using the darma points?

Yakuza 5 does have premium adventure. I played it for like 20 hours lol. I'm pretty sure every Yakuza game, including zero has premium
