I bought a custom made M40 from Schusters. Sleeves were too long, fits good in chest and shoulders, but from there it gets way to big, so now I’m having to have the waist taken in. I should demand at least $30 dollars back!
Good video. The only changes I'd make would using bevo litzen and Wehrmacht Adler ... for sheer authenticity. Before I xferred to the 9.SS I was in a Wehrmacht unit and we all did bevo .... tricky but absolutely accurate. That's a *very* grey tunic btw, I'm more used to seeing that colour on Luftwaffe uniforms ... but that's not a criticism:-)
@@dergrenadier OK... the lighting clearly makes it look different. The patches really don't look bevo but I'll take your word for it :-) Love your videos now... except now I've seen them all and I need more! Good stuff.
@@efka1486 yea. Its really not too expensive. I like these european companies because they have more variety and since they probably have access to real stuff from the war its most likely better quality. I know they have a 10% off sale going on right now for like a week tho
All uniforms had some type of lining. Fake silk was common in many brown and tan collors, and sometimes even purple-ish tones. Cotton was also seen in brown tones but less common if I remember correctly.
Hello I was wondering how do you keep the corner of the pocket flaps to stay straight because on original photos I've seen the corners curved a lot and I was wondering how do I keep them straight?
I have done nothing special to do this. If they were curved I would keep it like that. They did not care for the most part so it makes sense to just leave it. If you really want to do something about it you could try making the flaps wet and let them dry in the shape you want.
Hello, I have a question, I am 182 cm tall. I'm thinking whether to buy 176 or 182. Can you give me the dimensions? total length, sleeve length - inside and outside
Does it come in a bigger size so it can fit over your trousers properly? Example: you’re wearing your trousers and service shirt which gets you to a 44 chest when you were originally a 42 chest.
As far as I can tell the litzen are placed within the variation I saw on orriginals. But I will take another look, if they are attached wrong I will sow them on again. Thanks for the feedback! 😁

Usually they should be quite good when it comes to custom tailoring. This is unfortionate to hear.

These are in fact bevo litzen and eagle. The color is greener than you would expect, the lighting plays a role in that.

@@dergrenadier Good news kamerad!!!
I am planning on buying the same model as you as I see it looks really good :D btw may I ask what cap are you using and which vendor produced it?
Did you buy it? Do you reccomend it?
@@zimbabwe-wz5iw No, I will buy it a few months later but I schusters makes really good stuff so I think you should give it a go.

What are the historically accurate colors for the lining insise? I got khaki but I've seen green and white ones, some the lining is absenr

Collar binds sorry!
I did a video on collar binds and how to wear them. I might also adress the subject in a future video.
Found them, thank you!

Which size do you have on your Tunic? And whats your opinion on Schusters gaiters?
I have a size S 176 I believe. But I had to tailor it to my size. I have never seen schusters gaiters so cannot judge those

Your service shirt and trousers don't take up that much room. Order your regular size and you'll be fine 👍🏻
My height is 173,174,what size should I buy? 170? 176?
170 would probably be better
@@dergrenadier what about the pant?
@@ranxie-ir9yc never bought those from schusters

Can you talk about collarbones for these? Do you use them?
I’m tempted to buy a Schusters 🤔

Der Grenadier you’re welcome. Just to clarify, looking at the angles of the top and bottom Litzen, they need to be turned top to bottom.
I have sewn them on in a different position, and I think it looks better. Thanks again for the tip 👍🏻
