This time, I made a bag using a $1 IKEA basket. I felt a bit overwhelmed since there are many talented individuals creating amazing works with this bag. In the video, I shared the process of making the bag and my style in creating a personalized image board. The bag can be conveniently used for shopping or travel as an IKEA messenger bag. It might come in handy for the next visit to IKEA, haha. Then, I'll be back with another enjoyable crafting episode. Thank you!

I love the whole video and the end with the little boat. About the hand vs machine stitching: i'm of the thinking that both have their own advantages, I prefer using the machine when i need to sew a lot of stuff and there's nothing complicated that requires a lot of detail. And I think hand sewing is better in detailed stuff because that way you can choose exactly where the thread goes and ataches. If i had to hand sew everything, all my pieces would take a really long time and at the end there would be less quality because hand sewing takes a lot of energy and i would end up being inconsistent in hopes of working faster
I have made bags from coats, dresses, neckties, curtains and recently from an old quilted jacket. All of these items would have been used for special occasions but were no longer fit for purpose so it’s my way of keeping the memories alive. No one knows that I physically carry my memories around; to the grocery shop, to the beach, walking and sitting in the park but they do feel the energy from them. More often than not, while I’m out and about someone will admire the bag I’m carrying. I would love to own one of your bags Hans. Where can I purchase?
It's interesting that making more wrinkles can erase the original folding marks! It's such a tasteful creation to use leather as a pairing material to turn the Ikea bag into a messenger bag. Your videos are very enjoyable, looking forward to see more creations from you. Thank you!

I agree with you about machine vs hand sewing. The sewing machine was invented for a reason, but it can’t do everything. There’s a time and place for both. Beautiful bag as always💜💜
Hello from Quebec! Beautiful work! When the bag was inside out, you can cut tiny cuts all along the curved edges, the corners…….they will lie flatter when you turn right side out

Love this idea of coffee carrier. Great idea to use your XTool P2, just need to use masking tape to prevent charring. I've used my Xtool S1 10W once for leather cutting, need to let the smell go away after a few days, even with dust/smoke extractor.

가방은 아니지만 소품 만들 때 세심 한 건 손바늘질 하고 대부분 미싱질 하는데 일반 미싱질 할 때 쓰는 실 말고 퀼팅실로 미싱질 하면 오히려 미싱질이 더 튼튼 한거 같아요. 물론 실 값이 많이 들지만...
의식의 흐름 무엇이죠 ㅎ ㅎ 구독도 하고 좋아요도 눌렀는대 왜 한 대 맞은 기분이 ㅎ ㅎ ㅎ😁 겉면은 파도 일렁이는 바다이고 안쪽은 심연이네요👍

honestly i'm glad you kept the wrinkles. it's almost part of the IKEA bag identity. i wish you also used the straps of the IKEA bag or at least the label (maybe make a tag charm) but probably it would make it too obvious. but in the end you still produced a beautiful product. ❤❤

stitching: you use the tool you need to make the things you need. your hands also are tools, and they are the better option only in particular situations. it's like golf. if you need an iron-5, that's not the place for a wood-1.
hand stitching is better in little and curvy places. here you cannot use the machine.
machine stitching is the better option when you have long and strait lines.
if you have time and energy, you can do everything by hand. if you need to calm your mind and keep your hand busy because of stormy thoughts, hand stitching is soothing too.

This is such an awesome and refreshing upcycle of the original bag! There's so much thought and attention to detail, looking into the history and culture around the classic version to pay respects without being constricted. I know I personally am not able to afford such a bag, but it's definitely worth every cent of labor.

Your work is always impeccable. I really like the messenger bag, it's classically simple, with clean lines, and is quite spacious. I think the blue leather looks great. Let's get a yellow bag or two and make something else? 😀 🤔 Hmm, what could we make? How about a briefcase, an overnight travel bag (with pockets), a drum bag, or maybe even a backpack style purse?

The milanote ad is great, the idea of the ikea bag was good, but I think it would have been even more amazing, if you had taken the ikea bag back to a high end fashion place.. like I am thinking: fendi baguette style, or even sth very stiff and boxy like the lv mallette
