So glad you're happy and enjoying the wonders of a leather sole! Makes our day to watch someone enjoying our craft. Hope to meet you in the shop in Austin one day! -Will
Yes, this small company hit home to both my wife and I. We are transplants from Naperville, IL. now living here in Austin. We recently took an Airstream Caravan to Big Bend and are leading a Caravan this year back to Big Bend. We both like to support small business, and when we learned about Wil’s story about his passion with Cowboy Boots and Big Ben, well we were sold. We both just purchased a pair of our first Cowboy boots from Chiso’s and we love them. They are well made, very comfortable and share a passion on Texas and Big Bend. Just so awesome to be wearing a boots, manufactured by a small company, with high quality, passion for quality boots and passion for Big Bend in Texas.
Hands down the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn ! I have the #6 in Roughout , #2 in brown leather and Roughout. The more u wear them , the more comfy they are !! ❤
Not only are cowboy boots comfortable comfortable giving great arch support but the hard leather insole is the more comfortable then any foam insole once broken in.
Im in the market for a new pair of cowboy boots.. I've watched this video 3 times in the last 48 because its so thorough and well done. It was between the No 1 Brushed Browns or those No 5's in rough out, and thanks to you I've been able to make an informed decision on the No 5s. I appreciate you! Great video
Ive been following chisos for awhile and watch reviews alot. And this boot is the closest (minus the toe shape) to the ones eastwood wore in the dollars trilogy. I love the look
I kind of went FROM cowboy boots TO lace-up. But I hung onto my cowboy boots (a pair of Lucheese's from about 20 years ago, and some Justin ropers from about 10), and they're still awesome. Many cowboy boot makers maintained craftsmanship when a lot of regular shoes and boots deteriorated. These Chisos look fantastic.
It’s a process to find the brand and size and last that works best is the first step and frustrating one. ( the reason you find such brand loyalty with cowboy boots). Patience and Proper break-in is the second step. 55+ year cowboy boot wearer. You are right about ostrich - full quill, belly or smooth is worth the upgrade. Depending on your needs in the workhorse value lines (under $500) Olathe makes some good cowboy boots. Rios Of Mercedes and Chisos make good boots in the $600-$900 range. If you can save up many dollars and deal with the 12-24 month waits to get in the custom made cowboy boot world you are going from Acura to Porsche.
Wow thanks so much for these invaluable insights!!!! Cowboy boots have such a following and I’m just getting started with them, so this information helps me out tremendously thank you sir
Thank you for the informative review. Could you help me in sizing and tell me which size do you wear in sneakers? Nike, new balance, adidas, converse? Or maybe dr martens?
Chisos are a work of art that feel very comfortable but the string used is so cheap that the soles start to fall off in about 6 months or less because the thread rots out fast.. When I contacted Chisos the only answer I received was "Don"t get them wet" Like yea, I live in Washington State. I am 79 yrs old and have never had a pair of boots that are fair weather so stay in your truck or on horse back if you want them to last. As Chisos told me "Don't get them wet" You have been warned! I don't walk in water but I have been caught in the rain... They failed me as no other boots. Hey Chisos spend a little more on the thread used!!!
Totally agree the reason I am hesitant to try out cowboy boots is because of the ridiculous designs on a lot of them (and sizing) I think that the more classic and minimal the better! These look awesome, especially that No. 5
I've worn a cowboy hat for yardwork for years. Love it but I'm not a cowboy in any way. Swore I'd never wear cowboys boots though....Really tempted to try Chisos though. My suburban friends are gonna rip me, but screw it, these boots look awesome!
I have the #1’s in bushed brown and although I have lots of boots, none of them are as fine as my Chisos Boots, the most comfortable cowboy boots on the market hands down!!
A really nice boot, I have the same pair, really need an E or EE width, only comes in D, even better if they were square toe, took mine to a cobler to stretch the toe box, he said really well made boot, quality made, I normally wear a 9.5 I ordered 10.5 I had to remove the insole still, probably needed 11. Joys of being in Australia. Greetings everyone.
Welcome to the dark side. I ditched all my custom white's and dress shoes for Western Boots. Chisos, Ariat, Lucchese, Dan Post. Those are some of my favorite brands. I like older Tecovas. I have a pair of their ropers and they are great. The new stuff by them is a bit sloppy.
Dale, Great video on Chisos boots. I just bought my first pair of cowboy boots- Tecovas Stocktons. Have not worn them enough to comment yet. One thing I take exception to with the Chisos description that you read is the mention of the globe. We don’t live on a globe we live on a flat stationary plain. It’s in the Bible. It’s time that we all started to realize that what we been taught about our whole life is a lie. I am impressed with Chisos’ founders passions. I wish he would take the mention of a globe out of his writings. Ben Northcutt Birmingham, AL
I used to wear them cowboy boots when I was 20. They were mega comfortable. I only stopped because I was single and learned the ladies don't dig it. Completely stupid reason. Nowadays, I don't care. So now I want to consider getting Chisos number 6.
Leather doesn't breathe. It also doesn't wick water. THese are literally the reasons we use leather for motorcycle jackets. THey are windproof, waterproof and abrasion resistant.
Give Rose Anvil’s videos a watch. He’s made one on both brands. I can vouch that Tecovas are great entry to mid level boots, I’ve owned a couple pairs that have taken a beating. I’ll still be picking up a pair of Chisos based on the comparison in quality, though.

Thanks so much
I've been worried about sizing myself. I'm normally a size 9 but with Durango I had to go all the down to size 8.

Well. Chisos has become my favorite Cowboy boots and my favorite and I´m going to order nr. 2 model.
Thank you for the informative review. Could you help me in sizing and tell me which size do you wear in sneakers? Nike, new balance, adidas, converse? Or maybe dr martens?
I am a 9 in sneakers/ 9 brannock/ 9 in Chisos
Sweet boots Dale, you look nice and tan for summer 😂
Thanks Jimmy!!! I love me some Sun ☀️ obviously!!! 😂💪🤠

Cool thing about the shafts is they are covered by your pants! So most of the time that fancy stitching (actual name) is hidden
Once you put your pants on they look super minimalist like a pair of Chelseas trust me
@@OriginalChick totally, I just wanna be able to look at them when I’m not wearing them and love the way the whole boot looks 😂
I like toe bugs 🐛

You definitely won’t be disappointed my man!!!
are you testing out new camera settings?
Yes I played around with different western type filters to set the vibe
Awesome boots man just cool!!!!
I have the #1’s in bushed brown and although I have lots of boots, none of them are as fine as my Chisos Boots, the most comfortable cowboy boots on the market hands down!!
Man that’s awesome to hear!!!
I own a pair of No5 roughouts, they are insanely badass
You need some cowboy cut jeans stright leg or boot cut with these boots unless you want to look like the cowboy from toy story .

That’s awesome, glad you got them to fit it friend!!!
Only men that wear square toe sit when they pee and drink white claw
I want a pair of their king ropers but it seems about 500 bucks higher than I am willing to pay for a pair of boots. But they are beautiful.

Man this is crazy to hear but I am starting to understand it!!!
How would you say sizing is for chisos compared to whites (smokejumper last) ?
Pronounced 'Lou chase ee" you need to know that especially if you move to the great state of Texas. Lol... great video.
Not my style, but love the brand and marketing I see.
What kinda jeans are those? I like them haha
Target brand believe it or not

Did you take your athletic shoe size?
Yes true to size
I love engineer boots but cowbow boots are still out of my range
I love watching videos of people reviewing boots that have never worked a hard days work in their life
Very Nice
Sharp!
Wait just a minute! Isn’t “Howdy” an A&M thing? Lol
ostrich leather looks like ingrown ball hairs IMO. those GATORS now... phew 🥵
I used to wear them cowboy boots when I was 20. They were mega comfortable.

Nice boots....they would look better if you wore mens jeans
😮😮👋🤠👍👍👍
R,m,williams are aussie made in s,a,
I cringe when I see rolled pants and cowboy boots lol. Good review however. Nice work.
At $545 they are CRAZY Buy an excellent pair of Tacovas for $240.
Give Rose Anvil’s videos a watch. He’s made one on both brands. I can vouch that Tecovas are great entry to mid level boots, I’ve owned a couple pairs that have taken a beating. I’ll still be picking up a pair of Chisos based on the comparison in quality, though.
$545, but $1,200 quality. It'll take me a year to save up for a pair, but I'm confident that it will be worth it based on the many reviews I've seen.
Men don't roll their jeans up like a teen from the 1960's
Man card hereby forfeited! 😂
Pretty feminine looking tbh
They're not scuffed up yet
Texas blah, blah…made in Mexico.
