Graham Gouldman " One Of The Greatest Songwriters Of All Time " Whose " Professionalism And Modesty Will " Always Prevail " !!! From Adrian Browne 1965
I still listen to 10cc, such an original band, all four of them could write songs, could play multiple instruments and usually in a four piece band, thay could all sing really well, and Graham Gouldman is a genius song writer, 10cc a complete one off, a collision of talent that has never been equalled in my humble opinion 👍
I listened to 10cc a lot in the 70's and they were amazing. For me, they fell in the same category as Queen, but were much better in relation to how often I actually wanted to listen to the music. Queen required a bit of a "party" atmosphere, while 10cc was always available in a way because the songs were more toned down and at the same time quite catchy. Don't get me wrong, I love Queen, but 10cc is perhaps closer to my heart. They were a big part of my upbringing with scouting and all. 10cc today is for me pure melancholy and the various songs bring back the past in a very good way. It can't be done better, can it?
I had been playing Deceptive Bends over and over on TH-cam. Ran to Music Millennium a record store I've been going to since I was 10 years old. I bought the LP, ran home and played it loud. Gave me chills. At 66 years old I can't get enough of it. I am especially intrigued by I bought a flat guitar tutor. Brilliant. You got a cold just cracks me up. Feel the Benefit absolutely moving. All in all, a masterpiece. I am so grateful for this music. Thank you.
"Deceptive Bends" is a masterpiece! I have been listening for at least 45 years. The first time I saw a 10 cc album was in late 70s in Ankara. It was the debut album which belonged to a friend of my brother... so we tape-recorded it. After that, I have listened to Deceptive Bends and I thought they must be different groups or people. Anyway, 10 cc was always one of my fav band. Oh. how I tried to find "Telephone Line" for many years after listening a couple of times on a friend's record and lost it in 80s... Great song...
Have just recently met Graham Gouldman again on 10cc's Current Tour " !! He is " A Real Gentleman " One Of The Nicest People You Will " Ever Have The Pleasure Of Meeting " !!! From Adrian Browne 1965
I met Graham in the street a few weeks back, I recognised him but my wife didn’t believe me…so I just asked him. He was kind, gracious and offered a photo and a brief chat. Lovely guy
I love 10cc's music and was fortunate to see the original line-up twice in the mid 70's. They had some later good stuff but those first 4 albums were astonishing, especially Sheet Music which is still in my top ten albums ever.
I thought I'd heard everything Graham has to say but I learnt things here, well done! I'm only at the start of the 10cc official updated biography: www.10cc.com
@@timscott6333 I wouldn't quite say that, queens early albums like a night at the opera gave the godley/creme era albums a run for their money albeit in a more bombastic fashion.
@@kevinharkness2108 I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this. I've had all Queen's albums at one time or another - I don't have them now - and think none of them are a patch on anything by 10cc, especially those first four albums that included Godley & Creme. It's almost like mentioning the overrated Captain Beefheart in the same breath as Frank Zappa - shouldn't be allowed.
If you do a youtube search for "kevin godley somewhere in hollywood" you should find a magical video that Kevin did specially for Graham's tours. Alternatively, search for "KEkdHZI8bwc"
Graham Gouldman is a real gentleman. Humble with no airs!
Someone you'd want to meet.
"I'm not in love" has soothed and haunted me since the first time I heard it. In the decades since the effect has not diminished. Thank you gentlemen.
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance has a similar effect on me.

What a great guy. 10cc is in my top 3 bands ever. They had it all. Talent, intelligence and freedom to create.

Humble, brilliant songwriter.
I’m not in love is my all time fav song so haunting and brings back so many memories of my youth in the 1970s
Just a wonderful band and a great songwriter among great songwriters.
Good interview with Tom empathising and listening to Graham.

10cc were brilliant, very underrated.

There's not a 10cc song or album I don't love. I like their weird stuff like Clockwork Creep . Always refreshingly different. So underrated.
Excellent interview. What a nice, talented chap. Loved their music.
Graham Gouldman is a charming and surprisingly funny man in my opinion

What a great interview.
Glad to hear him mention I Hate to Eat Alone as his favorite deep cut, a GREAT song.
Was the actual interview done in 2020? If so, I think he would have been 75 at the time. Amazing.
Such a lovely interview, on all levels! 🙏🏼

Bassilicious Interview. Well Done indeed. 🍓 Nice to see you Graham.
10cc were perfect
Graham, I hate to eat alone was off Look Hear..lol
10cc may not be in the 'public' conscience, but they've been in mine since 1975.
I value 10cc above most bands.
i loved 10 cc
Best band ever. The 1st 4 albums even managed to make the beatles sound a tad lame.
here's one; 'lamp looks fukt'
Fantastic
nice!
Wax, adoro suas musicas até hoje.

Massive loss when the band broke up. Had so much more to offer
I much prefer 10cc to Queen, the feed my soul.
No comparison. Queen are all style and no substannce.
