Wouldn't grommets with rope, lacing it have been better for support, and overall durability for the fabric? Would even make it tighten if fabric stretches over time. I doubt it would have increased cost by that much.
I’ve made a number of these beds myself and considered trying to sell them, but once I figured the costs, I appreciated that for a little more, people could buy a Kuranda, a bed that is more attractive, very strong, should last for almost ever and does not have an opening at the corners which are potential leg breakers.

The only change I plan to do is put some sort of wood or possibly cut up some thick plastic board for the 4 to edges (i will screw them into the pipe) of the canvas corners to protect the fabric from her chewing on the open corners. My bad do would find the open triangle corners as an attractive chew spot!
What was your total cost vs. Amazon bed? Wink, wink, are you getting a new rescue?
